Roush Yates Engines Powers Ryan Blaney to Victory at Phoenix Raceway

Roush Yates Engines Powers Ryan Blaney to Victory at Phoenix Raceway

Doug Yates’ 450th NASCAR Career Win Since Beginning His Career in 1990.

Ryan Blaney wins the 'Straight Talk Wireless 500' at Phoenix Raceway.

Team Penske’s Ryan Blaney won Sunday’s Straight Talk Wireless 500 at Phoenix Raceway, claiming his first win of 2026 and the 18th Cup Series win of his career. This win also marks Team Penske’s 108th series win with Ford and Doug Yates’ 450th NASCAR career win since beginning his career in 1990.

Ryan Blaney wins the 'Straight Talk Wireless 500' at Phoenix Raceway.

“Congratulations to Roger, Jonathan, Ryan, and everyone at Team Penske on the win at Phoenix,” said Doug Yates, President and CEO of Roush Yates Engines. “Ryan was able to drive to the front of the field throughout the race and Jonathan made a great call on that final pit stop. This win marks the 450th NASCAR win of my career across the Cup Series, O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, and Craftsman Truck Series since I started with Robert Yates Racing in 1990. Every single one of those wins has come with Ford Racing. I am thankful for the Ford family, all the employees at Ford Motor Company, and our employees who contributed to those wins.”

Ryan Blaney wins the 'Straight Talk Wireless 500' at Phoenix Raceway.

“Perseverance. That’s a great word to kind of describe our day. I had a couple mistakes on pit road and learned from them and moved forward, and I didn’t have a mistake the rest of the day. It was unfortunate that they happened back-to-back, but these guys learned from it and rectified it and we were able to stay in the game. Our car was fast enough to be in the game. I thought the 20 was the best car on the day for sure, but we stayed in the game enough and Jonathan made a great call for two on the last caution and we were able to get the lead there and then hold the 20 off. I don’t know how many more laps I could have held him off, but it was enough laps to do it. I’m proud of the whole group for sticking with it all day and cool to win here again, just a handful of months later,” commented Blaney.

Ryan Blaney Rallies Late to Claim Second Straight Win at Phoenix Raceway

Ryan Blaney seized control late and held off a hard-charging and dominant Christopher Bell to win Sunday’s Straight Talk Wireless 500 at Phoenix Raceway

Ryan Blaney completed a Team Penske sweep on March 8 at Phoenix Raceway.

Blaney held off Christopher Bell to win his first race of the year, winning the Phoenix NASCAR race. It came a day after Hendersonville native Josef Newgarden won the IndyCar race at Phoenix for Penske.

I’m proud of the whole group for sticking with it all day and cool to win here again, just a handful of months later,” commented Blaney.

It also marked the first win in 2026 by a driver not named Tyler Reddick, who won the first three NASCAR Cup Series races of the season.

Justin Allgaier Overcomes Slow Stop to Win O’Reilly Series Race

Justin Allgaier Overcomes Slow Stop to Win O’Reilly Series Race

JR Motorsports driver Justin Allgaier pushed forward when it mattered most, his No. 7 Chevrolet leading only the last 11 laps of Saturday night’s GOVX 200 at Phoenix Raceway to claim his third win at the 1-mile Arizona oval and take over the championship lead in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series

Allgaier had to pass the night’s most dominant driver, Richard Childress Racing’s Jesse Love, to earn the trophy. Love came into the race with the best average finish in the last four Phoenix races and again proved how good he is in the desert, leading a race-best 114 of the 200 laps.

“So proud of this team,” said Allgaier, praising the team for overcoming a poor stop early. “It wasn’t for lack of adversity and it seems like those are the ones that are big for us. I cannot say enough about this team.

“It never gets old winning,” added Allgaier, who has now won at least one race for a record 10 consecutive seasons. “This team rallied and never gave up.”

Carson Brown Dominates at Phoenix, Wins his First National ARCA Menards Series Start

Carson Brown Dominates at Phoenix

Carson Brown led almost every lap of the General Tire 150 prior to Dustin Hillenburg’s spin that brought out the final yellow of the day. The pressure of the situation did not phase Brown, who was thrilled to bring Pinnacle Racing Group back to Phoenix’s Victory Lane.

Brown withstood a charge from his teammate Tristan McKee to prevail in his maiden national ARCA Menards Series start, which also resulted in Pinnacle Racing Group’s first one-two finish with McKee following Brown across the start-finish line.

“All the guys back at PRG, [I have to give] a big thank you to them,” Brown said. “That green-white-checkered got a little hairy there. [McKee and I] made a little contact coming off [turn] two, but I thought I could kind of persevere there and make it to the finish line.

Country music hitmaker and Army Reserve soldier will set the tone for the thrilling conclusion of Phoenix Raceway’s Spring Weekend on Sunday, March 8

Craig Morgan Performing Pre-Race Concert at Straight Talk Wireless 500 #NASCAR

Phoenix Raceway announced that country music hitmaker and Army Reserve soldier Craig Morgan will deliver a special pre-race concert prior to the Straight Talk Wireless 500 on Sunday, March 8. Morgan’s signature sound will set the tone for the rumble of NASCAR Cup Series engines during its first of two races this season at the iconic, one-mile doglegged oval.

“We can’t wait to have Craig Morgan perform for our fans,” said Latasha Causey, president of Phoenix Raceway. “His music, his story, and his commitment to our country reflect the passion and pride our fans bring to Phoenix Raceway every race weekend. We’re thrilled to welcome him for what will be a powerful and memorable start to the Straight Talk Wireless 500.”

A singer, author, actor, and soldier, Morgan is one of country music’s most respected and enduring voices. Over a career spanning more than two decades, he has amassed 2.5 billion+ streams, charted 25+ songs on Billboard, and created a catalog that has become the soundtrack to American life. His signature hits-“Redneck Yacht Club,” “Almost Home,” “International Harvester,” “Soldier,” “That’s What I Love About Sunday,” and the faith-filled “The Father, My Son, and the Holy Ghost” – blend heart, grit, and authenticity, resonating with fans of all generations.

Morgan’s latest release, American Soundtrack (BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville), continues that tradition, with six powerful tracks infused with his unmistakable faith and patriotism. In 2008, he received one of country music’s highest honors with induction into the Grand Ole Opry.

Before stardom, Morgan served 17 years in the U.S. Army and Army Reserve and, in 2023, reenlisted in the Army Reserve, continuing his service as a Chief Warrant Officer 2. A tireless advocate for America’s military, he has completed nearly two dozen overseas trips to perform for the troops, is a member of the U.S. Field Artillery Hall of Fame, and is a recipient of the USO Merit Award. In 2018, he was awarded the Army’s Outstanding Civilian Service Medal-one of the Department of the Army’s highest civilian honors-for his dedication to service members worldwide. He remains deeply committed to supporting active-duty and veteran communities through organizations including Operation Finally Home and the USO.

In addition to his music, Morgan is the author of the emotional and inspiring memoir God, Family, Country, which chronicles his remarkable life and service, sharing never-before-told stories and the values that guide him: faith, family, and country.

Fans attending the Straight Talk Wireless 500 can look forward to a high-energy, heartfelt pre-race performance that perfectly complements the intensity of NASCAR Cup Series action at Phoenix Raceway-where engines roar, legends race, and country music sets the tone for an unforgettable Sunday.

The race will be the grand finale of a high-octane weekend of racing at Phoenix Raceway, March 5-8. Action begins Thursday, March 5, with the ARCA Menards Series race, followed by Friday, March 6, featuring NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and NTT INDYCAR Series practice and qualifying.

The excitement continues Saturday, March 7, with the NTT INDYCAR Series’ Good Ranchers 250, followed by the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series’ GOVX 200.

NASCAR / ARCA Race Weekend Recap (Cota / St. Pete / Kern)

#NASCAR / #ARCA Race Weekend Recap (Cota / St. Pete / Kern)

Winners: Tyler Reddick (Cup); Shane van Gisbergen (O'Reilly); Layne Riggs (Trucks) plus Mason Massey (ARCA West)

NASCAR Cup

Tyler Reddick Wins COTA for Historic Third Straight Victory to Open 2026

Tyler Reddick Wins COTA for Historic Third Straight Victory to Open 2026
A historic Hell Yeah for Tyler Reddick!

Tyler Reddick won the NASCAR Cup Series race at Circuit of The Americas this afternoon, becoming the first driver to open a Cup season with three straight victories.

"It means the world," Reddick said of the historic accomplishment.

Additionally, 23XI Racing becomes the first team to win the opening three races of the season since Petty Enterprises did it in 1963.

After a sluggish start to the day, where Reddick dropped to eighth in the opening laps, the 23XI Racing driver was able to shake off the early hiccup and work his way back into contention, and he was good when it mattered most -- the second half of the race, as he led a race-high 58 laps. But on the final restart, Reddick had a mirror full of Shane van Gisbergen, who won five consecutive road course races a season ago.

Having arguably the best road course racer NASCAR has ever seen breathing down your neck was a pressure-packed situation for a driver looking to reach a historic mark.

"Yeah, just trying to remember everything. I knew it was going to be important there at the end, and just tried to minimize the mistakes," Reddick admitted. "Shane is just, that's what he's so good at, man. He does not make mistakes. I certainly made a couple, and just doing everything I could to just manage the gap and stay away from him, if you know what I mean. If I let him get close to enough, it was probably going to be hard to hold him off."

Pole: Tyler Reddick,

NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series

Road ace! Shane van Gisbergen wins O’Reilly Series race at COTA

Road ace! Shane van Gisbergen wins O’Reilly Series race at COTA
Gisbergen’s victory was the 10th straight on road courses for JR Motorsports

With a bold, brilliant move moment after the final restart of Saturday’s Focused Health 250 at Circuit of the Americas, Shane van Gisbergen once again exhibited his road course supremacy.

Taking the inside line into Turn 1 after the restart with five laps left, van Gisbergen made a four-wide pass for the lead from the sixth position and pulled away to win the fifth NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts race of his career, this time by 0.780 seconds over runner-up Austin Hill.

In a rough-and-tumble event with more than its share of contact, van Gisbergen led five times for 31 laps, including the last five after the decisive move, as then-leader and Stage 2 winner Sam Mayer ran wide in the first corner, clearing the inside lane for the winning pass.

“I was a bit unsure there, starting sixth on the outside,” van Gisbergen said. “I kind of got to the inside, which was good, and nosed in on the 41 (Mayer), and he reacted. When he reacted, I thought no way he’s stopping that, and he kind of pushed everyone wide, which was awesome, and it worked out for us.”

The win was SVG’s first at COTA in his second O’Reilly Auto Parts Series race at the track. He is winless in two NASCAR Cup Series starts at the Texas road course.

“I’ve always been fast here but never managed to win,” van Gisbergen said. “So I’m pretty stoked to finally get it done — pretty flawless day.”

Van Gisbergen’s victory was the 10th straight on road courses for JR Motorsports and the 106th for the organization overall.

In a thrilling final run to the checkered flag, Layne Riggs bobbed and weaved, saving just enough fuel to keep a pair of hard-charging fellow Ford drivers, Ty Majeski and Ben Rhodes, behind him – ultimately earning his first trophy of the season in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series inaugural race on the streets of downtown St. Petersburg

Riggs’ No. 34 Front Row Motorsports Ford crossed the line a .879-seconds ahead of Majeski for the sixth victory of his career in Saturday’s dramatic, high-action OnlyBulls Green Flag 150 at St. Petersburg.

“It was a lot of fun racing here at St. Pete, I think everybody heard street course and thought they weren’t going to be able to pass and there wouldn’t be great side-by-side racing, but this was one of the raciest tracks we’ve ever gone to, at least in the Truck Series in my time,” a smiling Riggs said. “It was a lot of fun.

“I call myself a road racer now,” he added with a smile, noting this was only his fifth career road-course race of any kind in his life. “It’s amazing to race so many well-known guys, going past some and knowing these guys are road-course ringers and we were faster today.”

Mason Massey Wins First West Series Race in his first Start at Kevin Harvick's Kern Raceway

Mason Massey – First Start, First Win

Across a motorsports career that spans over a decade, Mason Massey had never once competed in the ARCA Menards Series West prior to the Oil Workers 150 at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway

Massey now finds himself on the West Coast as part of a Bill McAnally Racing team seeking to regroup after a disappointing 2025. Alongside his teammate Hailie Deegan, Massey intended to begin McAnally’s pursuit for his first title since 2021 by putting together a strong performance on Saturday evening.

The debut West Series appearance for Massey did not disappoint, as he maintained track position inside the top five all evening before passing Sean Hingorani for the lead on a late restart. Massey then survived two overtime attempts to formally start his West Series career in perfect fashion.

“I don’t think it [gets better than this],” Massey said. “All these guys work super hard at [Bill McAnally Racing]. I had a hot rod tonight thanks to [my crew chief] Ty [Joiner]. He really got this baby going and it was a lot of fun out there.”

SVG Keeps 10-Race JRM Road-Course Streak Going with COTA Triumph

SVG Keeps 10-Race JRM Road-Course Streak Going with COTA Triumph

Shane also had the #Fastest Lap at COTA

When Shane van Gisbergen took the checkered flag on Saturday at Circuit of the Americas, he earned JR Motorsports’ 10th straight NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series road-course victory and conquered another track in the process.

The New Zealander led 31 laps on the way to the victory, JRM’s first of the season. He also made crew chief Phillip Bell a winner in the No. 9 team’s first race of the season. The triumph was the 17th on a road course for JRM, second straight at COTA and van Gisbergen’s fifth in the NASCAR O'Reilly Auto Parts Series.

“It’s good to finally execute here,” van Gisbergen said following the race. “We had an awesome day, and thank you to SafetyCulture and everyone at JR Motorsports. The pit crew was awesome and the strategy worked out well. I wondered what was going to happen on the restart. I tricked the 41 and got the win. It’s great to finally win here and hopefully I’ll have some good luck tomorrow.”

Sammy Smith had an excellent run in the No. 8 Pilot Chevrolet, starting in the top 10 and playing strategy to earn a third-place finish for crew chief Cory Shea. Justin Allgaier battled at the front of the field for much of the race before encountering some issues, but rallied for eighth in the No. 7 BRANDT Professional Agriculture Chevrolet.

Defending race champion Connor Zilisch was near the front of the field all day and led 13 laps before a combination of on-track events-including a late-race dustup while contending for the win–put his No. 1 Roto-Rooter Chevrolet 21st at the finish.

Rajah Caruth also had a solid day going in his No. 88 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet before being caught up in another on-track incident late. The damage saw the young driver 31st in the final rundown.
