The #NASCAR King - Richard Petty

Legendary NASCAR drivers and musical stars will appear on the Xfinity Stage in Victory Plaza as part of Dover International Speedway’s FREE 50th Anniversary Bash for fans on Saturday afternoon.

John Rich (Big & Rich), who shot to stardom with the hit singles “Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy),” and “Comin’ to Your City,” will perform with Maryland native Sam Grow, a rising country music star, at the 50th Anniversary Bash, one of the entertainment centerpieces for the Monster Mile’s May 3-5 NASCAR tripleheader weekend. In addition, NASCAR champions Richard Petty, Bobby Allison, Jimmie Johnson and Darrell Waltrip, along with William Byron and Mike Joy, as well as longtime NASCAR executive Mike Helton and Dover Motorsports, Inc. President and CEO Denis McGlynn are among some of the special guests scheduled to make appearances on the Xfinity Stage in Victory Plaza. The appearances will be hosted by Riki Rachtman and MRN’s and SiriusXM’s Mike Bagley.

The 50th Anniversary Bash runs from 3-7 p.m. on Saturday following the “Allied Steel Buildings 200” NASCAR Xfinity Series Dash 4 Cash race (1:30 p.m. Fox Sports 1). The Xfinity Stage in Victory Plaza, located in the grassy area near the Monster Monument, is the home for the track’s free pre-race concerts and NASCAR driver and personality question-and-answers sessions throughout the Monster Mile’s event weekends.

Other breweries represented during the Bash include Mispillion River Brewing and Blue Earl Brewery, all of which are part of Delaware on Tap, the Delaware Tourism Office’s smartphone application guide to the state’s craft beverage makers and a Speedway partner.

“This year, as we celebrate our 50th anniversary, there’s more for fans to do on the Speedway grounds than ever before,” said Dover International Speedway President and CEO Mike Tatoian. “This is one way we can say thank you to our fans for their loyalty to the Monster Mile. We hope all our guests will stop by the 50th Anniversary Bash on Saturday to hear from legendary drivers, enjoy our tasty food offerings and enjoy the entertainment on the Xfinity Stage in Victory Plaza.”

The 50th Anniversary Bash is just part of Dover’s planned celebrations during the May 3-5 NASCAR tripleheader weekend. Custer & Cindric Finish 1-2 For Ford Performance
Burnout after the No.00 of Cole Custer finished on top in the #NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Richmond.

Ford teammates Cole Custer and Austin Cindric battled for their first short track win Friday night in Richmond, VA. But it was the No.00 of Cole Custer that finished top of the class, winning his second race of the 2019 NASCAR Xfinity Series while Cindric finished second.

“It is a great race for us,” said Custer in Victory Lane. “Our first short track win and second win of the year. It means a ton.”

“Congratulations to Cole, Tony, and Gene,” said Doug Yates, President and CEO of Roush Yates Engines. “It was great to see two young Ford Performance drivers battling it out tonight. It means so much to these guys to win and make a mark for themselves. We, at Roush Yates Engines, are just blessed to be part of that winning formula with Ford Performance tonight.”
