Ryan Partridge outlasted defending series champion Chris Eggleston and NASCAR Next driver Julia Landauer in a green-white-checkered finish to the Toyota/NAPA Auto Parts 150 at California's All American Speedway in the K&N Pro Series West  2016 season finale.

Unfortunately for Partridge, his third win of the season in the No. 9 Sunrise Ford/Eibach Springs/Lucas Oil Ford wasn't enough to catch Todd Gilliland, who won the 2016 K&N West Championship by a mere thirteen points over the veteran driver from Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.

Partridge was fastest in both practices Saturday morning at All American, and started on the front row after rain washed out qualifying. He dominated the evening's race (led 153 laps of the 154-lap race), which was delayed several hours because of the weather. Noah Gragson finished fourth and Nicole Behar fifth

Partridge finished third in K&N West points last year with one win (Colorado National Speedway), six top fives and 10 top-10 finishes. But he had some bad luck last year, and Partridge believes that is the main reason why he wasn’t able to beat Chris Eggleston and Noah Gragson to win the championship.

This year, Partridge mentioned his bad luck with flat tires at the end of a few races for coming up short.

NASCAR Race Mom scoured Ryan’s website (which appears to have been dormant since 2013) and his social media sites; however, @FlyinRyan48's  plans for 2017 are a NASCAR Mystery for the moment. However, last year Ryan stated that he was entering the second year of a two-year deal with Bruncati and Sunrise Ford, and he did not expect to be back with the team next year.

Partidge did mention on the Fan4Racing Radio that he was planing on doing some SRL and Modifieds next year.  He also mentioned that he was still working on a deal to return to the K&N Pro Series West for his third season.

Daytona International Speedway announced a multi-year partnership with University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH) for the school to secure the naming rights of the Fanzone, the 211,636-square foot entertainment hub located in the infield of the "World Center of Racing." UNOH, located in Lima, Ohio, invented the first high-performance motorsports degree program in the country, and in 2006, opened the largest U.S. facility dedicated to learning the science of high-performance vehicles – a seven-acre, 70,000-square foot high performance motorsports complex.

The UNOH Fanzone, which first opened in 2005 at the "World Center of Racing," is located between the NASCAR premier series garages and NASCAR XFINITY Series garages and puts fans in the middle of the event action with fan forums, historic displays, autograph sessions, entertainment and merchandise as well as access to pre-race activities. Other amenities include the Fan Deck on top of the NASCAR premier series garages and garage viewing windows with autograph slots.

"We're excited to continue to grow our relationship with the University of Northwestern Ohio," Daytona International Speedway President Chip Wile said. "UNOH is widely recognized throughout the country for their motorsports degree program. We look forward to them engaging with our fans in the UNOH Fanzone, which delivers the most fan-friendly, hands-on experience in all of motorsports."

"We are thrilled to expand our partnership with Daytona International Speedway and have another venue to share with motorsports fans the unique educational opportunity students can get at the University of Northwestern Ohio," UNOH president, Dr. Jeffrey A. Jarvis said. "Students from all 50 states and 49 countries have attended the University and we have UNOH graduates working in all facets of motorsports from dirt-track teams all the way up through NASCAR to NHRA and beyond. The UNOH Fanzone experience will bring to life what our students experience in the classroom and shop every day."

UNOH will also continue to serve as the Official Education Partner of Daytona International Speedway and have an on-site marketing presence at the facility including event signage, display space, tickets and hospitality. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Bill McAnally Racing and driver Todd Gilliland are expanding their horizons for 2017 with a program to run the full schedules in both the East and West divisions of the NASCAR K&N Pro Series.

Gilliland will be in his second season behind the wheel of BMR’s No. 16 NAPA AUTO PARTS Toyota Camry as they tackle the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East and the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West next season.

In addition to primary sponsors NAPA AUTO PARTS and Toyota, associate sponsors for the year will include NAPA Filters and NGK, along with many other great partners.

Gilliland – a 16-year-old California native who resides in Sherrills Ford, North Carolina – is coming off a sensational rookie season with BMR in which he won the championship in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West.

“This is a great opportunity to take the next step in my racing career,” Gilliland said. “We want to build on the success we had in the 2016 season.

“It’s a big move to compete for points in both divisions,” he said. “I look forward to the challenge and I’m thankful to BMR, NAPA, Toyota and our other great partners for making this happen.”

Gilliland had a record-setting rookie season in 2016 in which he became the youngest champion in the history of the series, at 16 years 5 months old; as well as establishing a NASCAR record as the youngest champion in any NASCAR national or touring series. He also won the Sunoco Rookie of the Year Award and the pole award for 2016.

Gilliland and BMR Expand Horizons For 2017 - #NASCAR“We had a remarkable year with Todd in his rookie season,” said BMR President Bill McAnally, who has won a record seven championships as a car owner in the K&N West. “Expanding our program to take on both divisions in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series is aimed at continuing his development.
“Competing in the K&N East and K&N West also expands the scope for our corporate partners,” McAnally said. “We’re grateful to them for their continued support. We could not do this without them.”

Gilliland and his BMR team – which is based in Roseville, California – raced in five K&N East races in 2016. In 2014 and 2015, BMR had separate teams compete full time in each division. Their 2017 program will mark the first season for a single BMR driver to race the full schedule in both divisions.

The NASCAR K&N Pro Series serves as NASCAR’s top developmental series.

In addition to being the youngest champion in the series, Gilliland holds the record as the youngest race winner in the series. At the age of 15 years 5 months 28 days, he won his series debut at Phoenix in the season finale for 2015. He also became the youngest winner in the history of the ARCA racing series, capturing a victory just two days after his 15th birthday.

Todd will be a busy racer. Below is the combined K&N Pro Series East & West Schedule (27 Races):
