Of the thirty-three (33) drivers entered in the Overton’s 225 at Chicagoland Speedway this weekend so far, eight of them are making their track debut. They are:

Todd Gilliland proves to be a strong contender each week in his young NASCAR Camping World Truck Series career. He has started in twelve (12) career races and has posted three top-fives and seven top-tens.

Gilliland finished in second place behind Justin Haley at Gateway Motorsports Park posting his career-best finish. This was a great comeback for him as he crashed the weekend before at Iowa Speedway and was unable to finish the race.

Tonight, on his first visit to Chicagoland; will he be able to join John Hunter Nemechek and Kyle Busch on the list of those who grabbed a win at his track debut? (Nemechek in 2015 and Busch in 2009) 

Todd Gilliland, along with Johnny Sauter, led Thursday’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series practices at Chicagoland Speedway, preparing for Friday night’s Overton’s 225.

Further, Gilliland appeared headed for victory Thursday night having built up a huge lead but a caution was displayed with five laps remaining after a spin by Leilani Munter. Michael Self went from third to first on a restart with two of 100 laps remaining for the win; Todd had to settle for third.

Driver Q&A: Todd Gilliland

You earned your best career Truck Series finish at Gateway last weekend. Do you feel like your first win is getting closer?

"Yeah, I think anytime that you can run upfront and be in the top three all night that builds confidence in me and the team, so that's what it's about. Just being consistent and getting better every week, and I think we are definitely getting closer."

How will running the ARCA race Thursday help you prepare for Friday's NCWTS race?

"I think at this point it's all about getting mile-and-half experience. It's been a really great stretch here in the summer months to just race every weekend, so we're keeping that up this weekend racing twice and hopefully we can just learn a little something new in the ARCA race that helps me in the truck race."

Since you have never raced at Chicago, what have you been told about what to expect?

"I've heard some things that a lot of mile-and-half tracks aren't real racy and you get kind of stuck behind people. I've heard Chicago is a really racy race track, so I think you will see a lot of grooves moving around. I guess we'll see when we get there."

Gilliland has proven that he will be a driver to watch!

ARCA Qualifying Canceled At Talladega

“General Tire 200” at Talladega Speedway Postponed Until Saturday at 5 p.m.

UPDATE: With persistent rain in the area, ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards officials, in conjunction with track officials, have postponed the General Tire 200 at Talladega Speedway until Saturday at 5 p.m. local Central time.

The General Tire 200 will follow the NASCAR Xfinity Series race and Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series qualifying.

The ARCA garage will open Saturday morning at 11 a.m.  Saturday's General Tire 200 will air live on FS2. The race will also be featured in live timing and scoring and live chat at arcaracing.com.

General Tire 200 Field Set by Owner Points

ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards officials have canceled General Tire Pole Qualifying Friday at Talladega Superspeedway because of early morning showers.

The field for this afternoon's General Tire 200 is set by 2016 car owners points as a result. With a decreasing percentage of rain throughout the day, series officials are hopeful that race teams will still get out on track today for an abbreviated practice session.

The General Tire 200, live on FS1, is still set to get the green flag shortly after 5 p.m. local Central time. Follow along with live timing and scoring, and live chat of all on-track activity at arcaracing.com.

Chase Briscoe #Wins ARCA championship & Dalton Sargeant Secures ROY

Briscoe and Sargeant To Appear on "Inside ARCA" Season Finale

Saving the best of the best for last with newly-crowned ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards national champion Chase Briscoe and SCOTT Rookie of the Year Dalton Sargeant to finish out the season on "Inside ARCA" today at arcaracing.com.

Both Briscoe and Sargeant clinched their respective titles last week at Kansas Speedway where Briscoe picked up his sixth series win of the 2016 season. Sargeant was also very much in contention for the win, leading inside of 25 laps from the finish when ignition issues dropped the Boca Raton, Florida driver back in the finishing order.

Both drivers had phenomenal seasons - Briscoe in the No. 77 Big Tine Ford for Cunningham Motorsports, and Sargeant in the No. 55 TRD-Windows 10 Toyota for Venturini Motorsports.

While Briscoe led the way in several Special Award categories, including Menards Pole by Ansell, Short Track championship by Protect Plus, Bill France 4 Crown, Valvoline Lap Leader and S&S Volvo Laps Completed, the Mitchell, Indiana rookie certainly didn't sweep the board. 

Sargeant not only earned the SCOTT Rookie of the Year honors, he picked up the prestigious General Tire Superspeedway Challenge championship for car owner Billy Venturini.

Both drivers will officially receive their respective honors at the 64th annual national championship awards banquet at the Indiana Convention Center in downtown Indianapolis Saturday night, December 10. The big show runs in conjunction with the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) trade show.
