A clutch last-lap pass following a late-race restart saw Tyler Reddick clinch a Championship 4 berth with his NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs victory at Homestead-Miami Speedway Sunday evening.

Ryan Blaney finished runner-up, while Denny Hamlin, Christopher Bell and Chase Elliott completed the top five.

“I don’t know, we were backed in a corner and had no other choice. I knew we were on a tire deficit, and here at Homestead, that’s a death sentence, but I didn’t care,” Reddick said of moving back into the lead after being passed in a four-wide move on the restart only to work his way back to the point in the final six laps.

Austin Hill Dominates Xfinity Series Playoff Race

An emotional Austin Hill climbed out of his No. 21 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet on the Homestead-Miami Speedway frontstretch to celebrate one of the most significant race wins of his burgeoning career — claiming the Credit One NASCAR Amex Credit Card 300 trophy Saturday and securing one of four positions to race for a trophy in the Nov. 9 Xfinity Series championship finale.

Hill — who also swept both of the race’s stage wins — took the lead from Stewart-Haas Racing’s Cole Custer with 12 laps remaining Saturday evening at the 1.5-mile South Florida track and raced off to a healthy 3.045-second win over the fellow playoff driver and reigning series champion Custer.

“I worked so hard for this, a lot of people doubt me but I wake up every day to prove them wrong,” Hill said. “I deserve to be here and I deserve to race for a championship. This 21 team deserves it just as much as I do. They work their [butts] off each and every day just like I do. I’ve got to give it up to those guys. They gave me a hell of a car.

“I can honestly say I’ve never cried coming to the start-finish line, but I had to get my emotions together going into Turn 1 after the checkered, all the hard work and dedication that goes into this. I don’t think everyone’s going to understand what this means for me, for my family and for [sponsor] Bennett. … I had to be on it today.

”Pausing to take it in, he added, “This is amazing. To be able to go the Final Four. I’ve worked so hard at this and my dreams came true.”

Grant Enfinger Stretches Fuel to Win Truck Series Playoff Race

Grant Enfinger Stretches Fuel to Win Truck Series Playoff Race

A strategy call from the pit box coupled with a patient move forward landed veteran Grant Enfinger his second consecutive NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series playoff race win in Saturday’s Baptist Health 200 at Homestead-Miami Speedway while his closest competitors ran out of fuel behind him in the closing laps.

Enfinger, who also won the opening race in this playoff round at Talladega Superspeedway three weeks ago, denied the other seven playoff racers a chance at an automatic bid into the championship race at Phoenix. So now at least two drivers will advance based on points earned with only next Saturday’s race at Martinsville to settle which other three drivers move onward into the title fight.

“At the end of the day, [crew chief] Jeff [Stankiewicz] just had the best truck out here,” said Enfinger, who actually made up a lap on track after contact on a race restart cut his tire earlier in the day.

“Our car was really fast after about five laps yesterday [in practice] and was the same way today. Jeff did a good job managing me with the tires and then managing me with the fuel. I feel like I saved at least 20 percent more than I did in the first run. Jeff was on me pretty hard obviously and the 38 [Layne Riggs] ran out and the 2 [Nick Sanchez] did too.

“Hard to beat these two weeks,” he added with a grin.

Defending West Series Champ Sean Hingorani goes Flag to Flag

With just one race remaining, Sean Hingorani left nothing to chance. The eighteen-year-old defending ARCA West champion dominated the NAPA Auto Care 150 at Kevin Harvick's Kern Raceway. Hingorani, starting from pole position, lead all 150 laps. He finished 0.302 seconds ahead of his hard-charging teammate Brett Crews.

“Venturini Motorsports brought me such a great race car today and I can’t thank them enough for that. Had to hold off there at the end, but we were able to lead wire to wire and dominate here today,” Sean related post-race.

Sean leads the series championship points standing by fourteen over Tyler Reif.

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Plays Spoiler, Wins Chaotic Playoff Race

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. held off the field in overtime to claim the victory in a dramatic NASCAR Cup Series YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway — edging Brad Keselowski and William Byron by a mere 0.006-second in a thrilling three-wide finish.

That heart-stopping finish was indicative of the afternoon of competition at the 2.66-mile behemoth — which once again lived up to its reputation and provided a thrilling playoff race with significant implications for the 12 championship contenders.

A massive 23-car accident with five laps remaining brought out a red flag and stopped the race for nearly 10 minutes. The incident affected eight of the 12 playoff cars in varying degrees. There is only one more race remaining in this round to settle which eight drivers advance to the next round of championship competition.

“Felt really good, we had our Chevy teammates behind us and I was hoping Kyle [Busch] wouldn’t push the six [Keselowski] that hard, I knew the 24 was going to try to get to the line,” said Stenhouse, who scored his first career NASCAR Cup Series win at Talladega in 2017.

“Man, this team has put a lot of hard work in and obviously we haven’t won since the Daytona 500 in ’23. It’s been an up-and-down season, a lot of hard work this season trying to find a little bit of speed, but we knew this track is one of ours to come get it.”

Sammy Smith Wins to Advance to Next Round

After entering Saturday’s race at Talladega Superspeedway below the elimination line, Sammy Smith punched his ticket to the next round of the NASCAR Xfinity Series Playoffs by winning the United Rentals 250 in overtime.

The driver of the No. 8 JR Motorsports Chevrolet held off a hard charge from runner-up Ryan Sieg in the tri-oval coming to the checkered flag. Riley Herbst, Sheldon Creed and Chandler Smith rounded out the top five.

Smith, who now has two career wins, snapped a 56-race losing streak after picking team owner Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s brain about racing at Talladega. Earnhardt won six Cup Series races at the Alabama superspeedway.

“We sat down with him Wednesday, wasn’t a whole lot, just kind of some of the stuff he’d do in those situations,” Smith said. “But, man, it feels very good to win here.”

Grant Enfinger Wins Truck Series Playoff Race at Talladega

The home crowd favorite, Grant Enfinger claimed the victory in Friday afternoon’s Love’s RV Stop 225 Playoff race at Talladega Superspeedway – the Alabama native’s second NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series win at the big track and the most important, as the victory delivers an automatic entry into the season championship finale next month at Phoenix Raceway.

Enfinger’s No. 9 CR7 Motorsports Chevrolet led a race-best 34 of the 85 laps, won Stage 2 and held the point on the final lap when a caution came out ending the race.

“We knew stuff was going to get dicey,” the 39-year-old Enfinger said of having to hold the field off following a restart with nine laps remaining to claim his first victory of the season – first ever for the team – and 11th of Enfinger’s career.

“We didn’t make all the perfect decisions today, but we had a Champion Power Equipment Chevy that was fast enough to get it done today, so even though we chose the outside [lane for a restart] once or twice and maybe we shouldn’t have. … it’s just Talladega right there and hopefully all the fans enjoyed it.

“There’s nothing like winning at your home track. Got my family here and first win with my daughter and my son here. On top of that, we get to race for a championship in Phoenix.”

While Andres Perez was able to celebrate his victory as ARCA Series champion by merely starting the event; the race itself, though, belonged to William Sawalich

The Joe Gibbs Racing driver who secured his second consecutive ARCA Menards Series East championship last month, Sawalich won his ninth ARCA Menards Series (national) race of the season when he led all but a few laps on the northwestern Ohio half-mile. The 18-year-old’s nine victories in 2024 are a series-high, a number he accomplished in 14 starts.

“I definitely got a good jump,” Sawalich said of the last restart. “I can’t thank my guys enough. Just a good day overall, a good end of the year for us.”

Perez finished the race in sixth place.

Huddleston topped General Tire Pole Qualifying and left zero doubt during a non-stop contest, clicked off in under 37 minutes on the one-third mile speedway. Huddleston’s lead fluctuated between two and three seconds over Eric Nascimento, Jr. throughout the contest.

“Epic man. Epic,” Huddleston said. “It’s a crazy couple of days. Got engaged (last weekend in victory lane) and got these wins. I live a blessed life.”

“I’m so proud of everyone on this Niece Motorsports team," Hocevar said. Our Worldwide Express Chevrolet was so fast. I was bummed yesterday when we didn’t get the pole because I knew the speed that our truck had. I’m glad that we could show that today and put ourselves into the final round of the playoffs. We’re going to do everything we can to bring that championship home,” he added.

As for the other three drivers, Corey Heim clinched his spot after winning at Bristol Motor Speedway, Grant Enfinger pointed his way in (five points above the cutoff) after a fifth-place finish at Homestead, and 2021 NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series champion Ben Rhodes earned the final spot on a tiebreaker of best finish in the round. Tyler Reddick Scores Overtime Victory

The NASCAR Cup Series has a new road course conqueror.

Tyler Reddick survived a wild overtime battle against Ross Chastain — who, as it turned out, was under penalty for finagling the first corner — to win Sunday’s Verizon 200 at the Brickyard. Reddick’s NASCAR Cup Series victory at the 2.439-mile, 14-turn Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course was his second this month, the second of his career and his second at a road course.

“Well, we just know what we’re capable of, and we did that at Road America,” said Reddick, who led a race-high 38 laps on Sunday. “Certainly, (the announcement) was a little bump in the road, but we went out and won a race fair and square a couple weeks ago, and if we change nothing, we keep working really, really hard, we find a way back to Victory Lane.

“Just really glad to be able to do it here in Indianapolis. This is one really special place to race, and really excited to kiss the bricks here in a little bit and really excited we got (sponsor) 3CHI their win in their hometown.”

AJ Allmendinger Cruises to Xfinity Win

The NASCAR Xfinity Series Playoff is still six races away, but AJ Allmendinger has already clinched one title.

With his victory in Saturday’s Pennzoil 150 at the Brickyard, the driver of the No. 16 Kaulig Racing Chevrolet is the undisputed King of the Road.

Allmendinger was an irresistible force at the 2.439-mile, 14-turn Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course. He led 42 of the 62 laps and overcame a fraught 25-second pit stop that dropped him from the lead to 13th for a restart on Lap 19.

The victory was Allmendinger’s third of the season — all on road courses — and his fourth win in the last five Xfinity Series races on circuits that turn right as well as left, dating to his triumph in last year’s fall event at the Charlotte Roval.

“I knew (Alex) Bowman was really good at the long runs, and so I tried to gap him as much as I could. God, I love Indy!”

“We gave up stage points a little bit there as well, to the guys we’re fighting for points,” Allmendinger said. “But you know what? Points don’t mean a damn thing — we’re kissing the bricks. Hell, yeah!”

Grant Enfinger picked a fine time to win his first race of the season.

Charging to the front on fresh tires after the TSport 200 went to overtime on Friday night, Enfinger passed Zane Smith for the lead on Lap 206 of 207 and went on to win the first event in the 2022 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Playoffs.

“We’ve just been off a little bit as an organization,” Enfinger said. “We’ve been working so hard because we’ve been sucking. It hurts to say it, but we’ve had a terrible season to this point. But we had a great Chevrolet all day. It felt like every time we got into the lead, a caution came out, and it put Hensley in a bad spot. I knew from experience to just trust his gut.”

It was a battle of two Smiths on Friday night at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park.

When the checkered flag waved, it was Chandler Smith who bested Sammy Smith to earn his first ARCA Menards Series victory of the season during the Reese’s 200 at the 0.686-mile asphalt oval. The event was also part of the Sioux Chief Showdown schedule.

The triumph also marked Chandler Smith’s third-straight ARCA Menards Series victory at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park dating back to 2019.

“Track position was pretty big,” said Chandler Smith, who is also one of 10 Playoff drivers who will battle for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship starting Friday night at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park. “You wouldn’t think short track racing (that) aero matters, but it really does. After you’ve done some mile-and-a-half races in Trucks you start coming back and picking up on this a little bit.”

Weekend Recap from Las Vegas Motor Speedway

LVMS Winners:

  • Sheldon Creed (#KNWest)

  • Grant Enfinger (#NCWTS)

  • Ross Chastain (#NXS)

  • Brad Keselowski - (#MENCS)

Creed Wins Star Nursery 100

#NASCAR Creed Wins Star Nursery 100

After a chaotic start, the first ever K&N Pro Series at the Dirt Track is in the books and it was Sheldon Creed who hoisted the trophy.

Christopher Bell had trouble early and was leading late when he was penalized for jumping a restart. That gave the lead to Creed who held on through a final restart with two laps to go to seal the deal.

"I thought we gave a couple away last year so it's great to come here and finish it off," said Creed, who scored his first series victory.

17-year old Hailie Deegan started from the pole and had to fight mechanical problems that had her car jumping out of gear all night long. During the halfway break, her crew came up with a temporary fix and from there, she patiently made her way back toward the front and tied her career best series finish.

Enfinger Scores First LVMS Victory

#NASCAR Enfinger Scores First LVMS Victory

Las Vegas sports books had Grant Enfinger listed a clear long-shot for tonight's World of Westgate 200 but he performed more like a favorite. After starting third and winning the second stage of the race, Enfinger stayed in the hunt and sealed the deal with his first victory of the season.

When the ThorSport Racing crew gambled on a fuel only pit stop late in the race, Entfinger capitalized on the track position and was in the right place when it counted the most.

Close racing forced the race into overtime not once, not twice but three times. Brett Moffitt had the lead on the final restart but lost any chance he had at victory when his engine sputtered and failed to pick up the precious few drops of fuel left in the tank.

Enfinger was able to take the lead and hold off Johnny Sauter to score his second career victory.

"This is kind of the culmination of all year," said Enfinger, who led seven times for 40 laps. "The truck was great. We had the best truck out there. We had to step it up and be aggressive tonight and all these guys did. We didn't have a good Ford F-150 yesterday during practice. These guys made it good. We had the best truck out here. Very, very proud of that."

Chastain - LVMS The Winner Maker

#NASCAR Ross Chastain - LVMS The Winner Maker

Ross Chastain won his first Xfinity Series race in dominating fashion as he led six times for 180 laps and stayed in front of several late race crashes to arrive in victory lane in his 132nd series start.

"I'm just a watermelon farmer from Florida," said Chastain, after climbing from the car as a first-time winner. "I'm not supposed to do that. That's a testament that anything in life is possible."

Justin Allgaier finished second, which allowed him to clinch the regular series championship.

"That's amazing," said Allgaier. "This trophy right here is the dedication and hard work of all the guys back at the shop. I mean, they put their hearts and souls into it."

Pole winner Cole Custer finished third and goes into the playoffs second in points, 44 behind Allgaier.

Keselowski Wins Three in a Row

#NASCAR Brad Keselowski Wins Three in a Row

Brad Keselowski and the No. 2 team are on fire after winning their third race in a row, and it couldn't come at a better time in the season. In addition to scoring his 27th series victory, Keselowski also handed Team Penske its 500th victory overall.

Keselowski led eight times for 75 laps, including the final 22 laps that saw the caution fly no less than four times. The No. 2 Ford was strong on the restarts, which was key to the victory.

"I didn't think it was ever gonna end," said Keselowski. "I was worried about running out of gas there at the end. What a special day for 500 wins for Penske, three in a row here, first win in the Playoffs. There are too many storylines for me to get it all right, but we're very thankful and very proud for all of them."

Playoff driver Kyle Larson finished second after rebounding from an early unscheduled pit stop for a flat tire. Larson swapped the lead back-and-forth Keselowski four times over the final 30 laps and ultimately finished 1.3 seconds behind the leader.

"I needed it to stay green," said Larson. "I was terrible on short runs today but once I could get the top going I was really good. Right when I moved up to the top in Turns 3 and 4 and pulled away the caution came out.

Martin Truex, Jr. led 21 more laps than the winner.

"Brad clearly found the horseshoe," said Truex. “Three races in a row he has won, he has not had the best car. He’s on a streak. That’s the way it goes."
