RFK Racing and Trimble Launch Multi-Year Agreement

RFK Racing and Trimble Launch Multi-Year Agreement

Starting with 2025 NASCAR Season

Global Technology Leader Bringing ‘Confidence at Every Turn’ to the No. 60 and No. 17 Ford Mustang

RFK Racing today announced a multi-year sponsor partnership with Trimble, a global technology company that enables essential industries including construction, geospatial and transportation. The collaboration between Trimble and RFK will debut during the 2025 NASCAR season with Trimble’s primary sponsorship on Ryan Preece’s No. 60 Ford Mustang and Chris Buescher’s No. 17 Ford Mustang, beginning with Preece’s entry at Nashville Superspeedway on June 1. Trimble will increase its involvement across RFK Racing’s full fleet in upcoming seasons, including Brad Keselowski’s No. 6 Ford Mustang.

The collaboration is rooted in a shared passion for innovation, precision, and high-performance teamwork—bringing Trimble’s commitment to delivering “Confidence at Every Turn” to the racetrack.

“This is a high-profile opportunity to expand awareness of Trimble by supporting a leading NASCAR team with a technology vision closely aligned with our own,” said Rob Painter, president and CEO of Trimble. “Both organizations focus on cohesive technology ecosystems and data-driven precision as the formula for winning in dynamic and intensely competitive environments.”

Trimble is a global technology company that employs more than 12,000 people worldwide and serves customers in over 175 countries. The company reported $3.68 billion in revenue in 2024. Customers in construction, transportation and geospatial industries rely on Trimble solutions to improve operational efficiency and project outcomes.

“Partnering with a forward-thinking, technology-driven company like Trimble is a great fit for RFK Racing,” said Steve Newmark, president of RFK Racing. “Our team and Trimble operate in fast-paced, high-performance environments that demand precision and innovation. Their deep expertise and commitment to technology will bring valuable perspective and collaboration to our program.”

Trimble will also join the RFK TeK Alliance, a collaborative platform where technology-oriented sponsors work together to test and refine products in applied racing and operational environments.

“Every week in NASCAR feels like a science project, where we’re constantly testing, learning, and improving,” said RFK Racing driver and co-owner Brad Keselowski. “Partnering with Trimble allows us to do more of that work in the digital space, refining our performance virtually before we ever hit the track. That kind of innovation is not only smart, it’s essential in today’s competitive environment.”

“NASCAR’s 90 million fans include more than 17 million associated with the industry sectors we serve,” said Painter. “The opportunity to join these stakeholders in the exciting NASCAR environment and to collaborate within the RFK TeK Alliance make this a compelling investment for Trimble.”

Ryan Preece Cleared to Race at Darlington

Ryan Preece Cleared to Race at Darlington

Sunglasses Mask Two Black Eyes - #TooToughToTame

Ryan Preece has been cleared to race in this weekend’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Darlington Raceway after his crash at Daytona International Speedway last weekend, Stewart-Haas Racing announced Friday.

Preece barrel-rolled down the back straightaway at Lap 155 of Saturday night’s Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona, tumbling 10 times before coming to a rest on his wheels. Preece exited the No. 41 Ford under his own power with assistance from safety workers and was kept overnight at Halifax Medical Center for further evaluation before being released the next morning.

“I’m good. It’s been quite a week, that’s for sure. But definitely, definitely really excited to have been given the OK to race this weekend at Darlington,” Preece told SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Friday morning. “Because there’s nothing that I love more than my family and racing race cars. So to be able to go to Darlington this weekend and race with my 41 team, we’re excited and ready to get back out there.”

The NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs are set to begin with Sunday’s Cook Out Southern 500 (6 p.m. ET, USA, MRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, NBC Sports App). Preece finished 15th at the 1.366-mile oval earlier this season. Preece did not qualify for the playoffs and enters 26th in the points standings.

“I was ready to go do tests and everything on Sunday, you know, to make sure I was cleared. But we wanted to go through all the steps and we did it twice, just to make sure there were no symptoms that appeared later in the week. And everything’s good. I feel great, no concussion and I’m ready to get out there and go race,” he said. “That just goes to show the amount of work that NASCAR has really been doing to keep improving this race car and obviously having that car at the R&D Center, they’re gonna look over and continue to work to make it even safer. I’m not downplaying the wreck by any means, because it was certainly probably the biggest wreck I’ve ever taken in my career, but I’m sitting here, I’m talking to you guys right now. There’s nothing stopping me from racing this weekend. And I’m really ready to get to Darlington.”

The Connecticut native returned to full-time Cup Series action this season for the first time since 2021. He spent three seasons driving for JTG Daugherty Racing before the organization scaled back to one car for the 2022 season. Preece joined SHR during that offseason and served as the program’s simulation driver until the team opted to put him into the No. 41 Ford this year.

Preece scored his best finish of the year in the July 30 race at Richmond Raceway, where he finished fifth. He also scored a Busch Light Pole Award in the spring race at Martinsville Speedway.

#NASCAR Cup Regular Ryan Preece Dominates

NASCAR Cup Series regular Ryan Preece took full advantage of the opportunity to gain experience at Sonoma Raceway in preparation for Sunday’s Toyota/Save Mart 350 by starting from the pole and then dominating Friday’s ARCA Menards Series West General Tire 200.

Preece and the No. 9 Stewart-Haas Ford was the class of the field on the 10-turn, 1.99-mile road course, crossing the finish line 9.675 seconds ahead of NASCAR Xfinity Series regular Sammy Smith. Fellow NXS competitor Riley Herbst was third, while ARCA Menards Series West regulars Jack Wood and William Sawalich finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

“Laps mean a lot, especially now in today’s world of racing,” said Preece. “You don’t get much practice, so any opportunity you can to get in the seat, you take.”

“I feel like, as a Cup driver, you’re expected to win, right? Even though I don’t have a lot of road course experience, I felt like I had to win today.”

“Road racing is a totally different art. AJ Allmendinger comes to mind: when you look at him as someone who really set the bar and how much he can get out of a road race car. Today I had a really good race car. I was able to just work on me to find little things and I feel that was extremely beneficial for tomorrow and Sunday.”

Familiar Names Complete Stewart-Haas Racing’s 2023 Crew Chief Lineup in Cup and Xfinity

Familiar Names Complete Stewart-Haas Racing’s 2023 Crew Chief Lineup in Cup and Xfinity

Chad Johnston Returns to SHR as Crew Chief for Ryan Preece and No. 41 Cup Team; Jonathan Toney Promoted to Crew Chief for Cole Custer and No. 00 Xfinity Team

While the 2023 crew chief lineup for Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR) remains mostly intact from last year, two familiar names join the crew chief ranks for the team’s 15th NASCAR season.

Chad Johnston, who served as crew chief for driver and team co-owner Tony Stewart in 2014-2015, has returned to SHR to be the crew chief for driver Ryan Preece and the No. 41 team in the NASCAR Cup Series. And with SHR’s expanded two-car effort in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, Jonathan Toney has been promoted from engineer to crew chief for driver Cole Custer and the No. 00 team.

“In Chad Johnston and Jonathan Toney, we’ve got two guys who are hungry to win that also bring a lot of smarts and experience to each of their roles,” said Greg Zipadelli, chief competition officer, SHR. “Both are very familiar with our program and our people.

“It’s great to have Chad back with our race team. A lot of the people he worked with when he was here before are still here today, and he already has a rapport with Ryan Preece. Chad fits in seamlessly and has a tremendous work ethic.

“Jonathan has been a workhorse and his fingerprints are on a lot of the success this team has enjoyed. He’s been here since the very beginning and knows this place inside and out. Jonathan has definitely earned this opportunity and all of us are proud to see him take on this new role.”

Johnston is from Cayuga, Indiana, and graduated from Indiana State University in 2003 with a degree in mechanical engineering. Before his first stint at SHR, Johnston spent 2004-2005 in the NASCAR Truck Series. He moved to Cup in 2006 with Evernham Motorsports and stayed there until 2009 when he joined Michael Waltrip Racing. It was there in 2011 when Johnston was promoted from engineer to crew chief for driver Martin Truex Jr. The two were paired for 95 races, earning a win, two poles, 17 top-fives and 43 top-10s, numbers that earned Johnston his first stint at SHR. After working with Stewart for two seasons, Johnston was recruited by team owner Chip Ganassi to be the crew chief for driver Kyle Larson in 2016. In five seasons with Ganassi, Johnston and Larson won six races together. Johnston returned to the Truck Series in 2021 with David Gilliland Racing and it’s where he first worked with Preece, winning a Truck Series race with him at Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway in 2021.

Toney is one of the most tenured members of SHR. The Newton, North Carolina-native joined Haas CNC Racing in December 2003, five years before Stewart partnered with Haas Automation founder Gene Haas to form SHR on the underpinnings of Haas CNC Racing. Toney is a 1996 graduate of the University of North Carolina-Charlotte and, like Johnston, holds a mechanical engineering degree. Toney was the lead engineer for Stewart and the No. 14 team from 2009 through 2012, helping secure Stewart his third NASCAR Cup Series championship in 2011 and the first for SHR. Toney remained an engineer at SHR, assisting the organization across its Cup and Xfinity Series programs, spending considerable time with Custer during his three previous years in the Xfinity Series from 2017 through 2019. The 2023 season marks Toney’s first as a crew chief.

The rest of SHR’s crew chief lineup remains unchanged across its Cup and Xfinity Series teams.

Rodney Childers, crew chief for the No. 4 team, will begin his 10th year atop the pit box for driver Kevin Harvick. The Harvick/Childers duo is the longest-tenured active driver-crew chief pairing in the NASCAR Cup Series garage, a partnership that has netted 37 points-paying wins and the 2014 championship.

John Klausmeier remains the crew chief for the No. 14 team and Chase Briscoe. Klausmeier helped Briscoe secure the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series rookie-of-the-year title and he delivered Briscoe a victory in just the driver’s 40th career start – March 13, 2022 at Phoenix Raceway. The 2023 season will mark Klausmeier’s sixth season as a crew chief, all of which have come with SHR (2018-2019 with driver Aric Almirola and 2020 with driver Clint Bowyer).

Drew Blickensderfer took over as crew chief for Almirola and the No. 10 team in 2022 and he returns in 2023. It will mark his third full season being paired with Almirola. Blickensderfer served as his crew chief while they were together at Richard Petty Motorsports for the last few races of 2016 and then all of 2017 before Almirola departed for SHR in 2018.

Richard Boswell has been the main steward of SHR’s Xfinity Series program since its inception in 2017 and he will continue in that capacity in 2023. He will again serve as crew chief for driver Riley Herbst and the No. 98 team. Boswell has been the crew chief for nine of SHR’s 21 Xfinity Series wins and has placed his driver in the NASCAR Playoffs for four straight seasons (2019-2020 with Briscoe and 2021-2022 with Herbst).

NashCar Weekend Recap

#NashCar Weekend Recap

Winners: Kyle Larson (Cup); Kyle Busch (Xfinity); Ryan Preece (Trucks) plus Tony Stewart (SRX)

Kyle Larson Pours It On, Wins Cup Series’ First Race at Nashville Superspeedway

Kyle Larson Pours It On, Wins Cup Series’ First Race at Nashville Superspeedway

Kyle Larson continued his streak of superiority Sunday afternoon, winning the Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway — his third consecutive win, following three consecutive runner-up finishes. He hasn’t finished worse than second place in a NASCAR Cup Series race since May 2.

It’s a high performance mark the series hasn’t seen in more than a decade when former Hendrick Motorsports driver Jimmie Johnson won four straight points-paying races in 2007. Larson’s win Sunday was his third straight points-paying victory, but he also won the All-Star Race $1 million-to-win exhibition last week at Texas Motor Speedway.

“It was a great day,” Larson said, smiling at the understatement. “We never really had to run behind people, so I don’t know if one of my teammates got out front again, it probably would have been hard to pass them. This Valvoline Chevrolet was really good. It cut the middle of the corner really well and our pit crew did an awesome job again. I just hope we can keep it going.”

Kyle Busch Fends Off Allgaier, Collects 100th Xfinity Series Win

Kyle Busch Fends Off Allgaier, Collects 100th Xfinity Series Win

Kyle Busch earned his historic 100th NASCAR Xfinity Series victory Saturday at Nashville Superspeedway in epic fashion – starting on the pole position, leading a race-high 122 of the 189 laps and bettering the field on three restarts in the closing 20 laps of the Tennessee Lottery 250.

For the second race in a row, Busch had to hold off veteran Justin Allgaier on a series of late-race restarts. The margin of victory was a mere 1.11 seconds – the two dueling side by side in the final laps and exchanging the lead seven different times in the final stage of racing. The victory makes Busch a perfect 3-for-3 in Xfinity Series starts this season, and it’s the second time he has won from the pole.

“I remember growing up as a kid and watching (NASCAR Hall of Famer) Mark Martin win every week in that 60 car, just the domination he had,” said Busch, driver of the No. 54 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota. “And he’s No. 2 with 49 wins. Wanted to give a huge shoutout to Rowdy Nation out there, we appreciate you, Rowdy Nation. I saw a lot of you standing up when Allgaier took the lead then a lot of you sat back down when I took the lead. So, an awesome day for Rowdy Nation.”

Ryan Preece Wins his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Debut

Ryan Preece Wins his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Debut

Ryan Preece took the lead from Grant Enfinger with seven laps remaining in the Rackley Roofing 200 at Nashville Superspeedway to earn his first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series victory Friday night in his first race in the series.

Preece, the 30-year-old Connecticut native who competes full time in the NASCAR Cup Series, is only the fifth driver in history to win in his Truck Series debut.

“That was a lot of fun,” Preece said. “Really I didn’t know what to expect. I didn’t know anything. I was just taking the guidance from (crew chief) Chad (Johnston) and my teammates and told them I’d be better in the race than I was in qualifying and practice. And fortunately, I lived up to that.”

Tony Stewart Takes the Checkered Flag for His First SRX Win

Tony Stewart Takes the Checkered Flag for His First SRX Win

Tony Stewart won the Camping World SRX Series race Saturday night at Knoxville Raceway, leading twice for a race-high 43 laps to take his first victory as a driver at the half-mile, semi-banked dirt oval roughly 40 miles southeast of Des Moines.

“It’s the first time I’ve been in victory lane at Knoxville,” said Stewart, who has witnessed his sprint car drivers at Tony Stewart Racing win the prestigious Knoxville Nationals 11 times. “This is where I’ve watched Donny Schatz and Steve Kinser and the greatest of the greats in sprint car racing. This is the place I’ve always wanted to be, for sure, so this is pretty cool.”

“This is the Sprint Car Capital of the World, and I want to thank the Knoxville staff and all the fans. They’re not used to tin tops, and if they see tin, they want to see it on top of the cage, not surrounding the cage. Just appreciate the fans and everybody for letting us come here.”
