In the last few feet of race track in the second overtime Sunday afternoon, Chase Elliott came from oblivion to steal the Hollywood Casino 400 Presented by ESPN Bet and earn a berth in the Round of 8 of the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs.

 

As his No. 9 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet sped wide open through the final corner on Lap 273 at Kansas Speedway, Elliott’s car bounced off the side of Denny Hamlin’s Toyota on the way to the finish line.

 

Elliott, who restarted eighth for the final two-lap shootout, got to the stripe 0.069 seconds ahead of Hamlin, who led 159 laps and drove the final stretch of the second Round of 12 playoff race without benefit of power steering.

 

“Everything worked out perfect for me,” said Elliott, who picked up his second win of the season, his second at Kansas and the 21st of his career. “Had a great push through (Turns) 1 and 2. That kind of all started with the 6 (Brad Keselowski). Big run off of 2. Seas kind of parted and just was able to keep my momentum up. That was really it …

 

“I wasn’t going to lift, so I didn’t know what was going to happen. I figured at the end of the day, it was what it was at that point. We were both wide open corner exit. Wherever I ended up, I ended up. At that point, we were all committed.”

 

Denny Hamlin finished second; Christopher Bell placed third; Chase Briscoe came in fourth and Bubba Wallace completed the top five.

Brandon Jones Tames Kansas, Punches Spot in Xfinity Round Of 8 with Victory

 

With a flawlessly executed race from start to finish, Brandon Jones preserved his bragging rights at Kansas Speedway, winning Saturday’s Kansas Lottery 300 NASCAR Xfinity Series Playoffs event.

 

The only driver in the field to have won a previous Xfinity race at the 1.5-mile intermediate track, Jones pulled away during the final 38-lap green-flag run and beat runner-up rookie sensation Connor Zilisch to the finish line by 2.787 seconds.

 

With the victory, his second of the season, his third at Kansas and the seventh of his career, Jones claimed a berth in the Round of 8. Zilisch and defending series champion Justin Allgaier also advanced to the next round on points.

 

“That was exactly like how we needed that to go down,” said Jones, who started from the pole, led 54 of 200 laps and finished second in each of the first two stages. “Two really solid stages – no mistakes. The entire day was so well executed. That’s probably by far in my career my most well-executed race.

 

“I’m so proud of these guys (his No.20 Joe Gibbs Racing team). We worked so hard all week to get here and put a race like this together.”

 

Connor Zilisch finished second; Austin Hill placed third; Sammy Smith came in fourth and Sheldon Creed completed the top five.

Brenden Queen Makes Magic Happen in Kansas for his 8th ARCA Menards Series Victory of 2025

 

Brenden Queen always seems to find his way to the front when it matters most.

 

It was more of the same Friday night in the Reese’s 150 for the ARCA Menards Series at Kansas Speedway, where Queen took the lead late and survived two overtime restarts to secure his eighth victory of a season that is all but sure to end next week with a championship for the 27-year-old from Chesapeake, Virginia.

 

“What a rookie campaign,” said Queen, who needs only start the finale next Saturday at Toledo Speedway to clinch the 2025 ARCA Menards Series championship. “One more race left. Maybe we can get nine (wins), but I think we’re closing in on what the main prize is.”

 

Giovanni Ruggiero finished second; Leland Honeyman placed third; Kris Wright came in fourth and Taylor Reimer completed the top five.

Ryan Blaney Holds Off Josh Berry, Clinches Round of 8 Spot with Loudon Win

 

Ryan Blaney’s No. 12 Team Penske Ford — which started on the outside of the front row — led 116 of the race’s 301 laps, including the final 39 laps, holding off the Wood Brothers Racing driver Josh Berry, who had rallied back in his No. 21 Ford after a spin on Lap 82.

 

“Probably the hardest 20 laps I drove,” Blaney, 31, said of the race’s closing laps. “Was trying to bide my stuff and he [Berry] really started coming. He started to get super free, and it was all I could do to hold him off. It was good racing. Clean racing, and I appreciate Josh not throwing me the bumper when he could have.”

 

Blaney’s victory cashes the popular 2023 series champion’s ticket into the Round of 8 in pursuit of his second Cup Series title. Important both Sunday and likely further in the playoffs as the season’s three-race winner can expect fierce competition from his Penske teammate, three-time and reigning series champ Joey Logano, as the playoffs intensify.

 

Josh Berry finished second; William Byron placed third; Joey Logano came in fourth and Chase Elliott completed the top five.

Heim holds off Smith for Truck Series win at New Hampshire

 

Corey Heim turned in yet another successful chapter to one of the most dominant seasons in NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series history — claiming his record-tying ninth win of the 2025 season in Saturday’s Team EJP 175 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

 

The 23-year-old Georgia native’s race effort was nearly as perfect as the NASCAR weekend setting — sunshine, cool fall temperatures set among the beautiful season-changing foliage for which New England is renowned.

 

Heim claimed the pole position in the No. 11 Tricon Garage Toyota, swept both stages, led a race-best 124 of the 175 laps, set the fastest lap of the day and then motored off to an 0.823-second victory over Chandler Smith to end the first round of the Truck Series Playoffs as dominantly as the Regular Season Champion started them.

 

“It’s a dream come true to be able to race with these guys,” Heim said of his team. “Seems like everywhere we go this year, we’re a contender or we win, so just can’t say enough about those guys.

 

“But got to keep it going,” continued Heim, who now has 20 wins in 85 career starts. “Still have four more races left [this year] and want to break that [single-season wins] record. Shout out to Greg Biffle. He’s a great dude. Dream year for me personally and just have to keep it going. It’s awesome. Gotta keep the ball rolling.”

 

Chandler Smith finished second; Layne Riggs placed third; Gio Ruggiero came in fourth and Ty Majeski completed the top five.

Late Restart at Salem Propels Brenden Queen to Seventh ARCA Win of 2025

 

For most of Saturday’s ARCA Menards Series race at Salem Speedway, Brenden Queen enjoyed a quiet and unassuming night inside the top five.

 

One caution transformed Queen’s good night into another great one. After polesitter Max Reaves brought out a late caution flag, Queen bested Lavar Scott on the ensuing restart and pulled away for his seventh victory on the 2025 ARCA Menards Series season.

 

“[The win] will make me feel good until tomorrow,” Queen said. “What a day. Battled myself, obviously not feeling the best, but that’s not an excuse. You have to show up to work and get after it. I’m just so proud of these Pinnacle Racing Group guys. We’ve worked so hard on the short track stuff and stayed with it all night.

 

“You don’t always have to have the best car, you just got to be there when it counts.”

 

Andrew Patterson finished second; Leland Honeyman placed third; Lavar Scott came in fourth and Isabella Robusto completed the top five.

Thrilling Thursday Doubleheader Features UNOH 250 Truck Playoff Race and Bush's Beans 200 ARCA Series Rumble
  • Layne Riggs and Chandler Smith, from Front Row Motorsports, have secured consecutive victories at Bristol Motor Speedway, positioning them as strong contenders for the upcoming UNOH 250 race.
  • The UNOH 250 is the second race in the Craftsman Trucks Round of 10 Playoffs and part of a Thursday night doubleheader, alongside the ARCA Menards Series Bush’s Beans 200.
  • Corey Heim, current regular-season champion and winner of the Playoff opener at Darlington, is on a three-race winning streak and carries significant momentum into Bristol.

Thrilling Thursday Doubleheader Features UNOH 250 Truck Playoff Race and Bush's Beans 200 ARCA Series Rumble

 

The Front Row Motorsports tandem of Layne Riggs and Chandler Smith have won the last two NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series races at Bristol Motor Speedway and will both be among the favorites going into Thursday night’s UNOH 250 presented by Ohio Logistics (8 p.m., FS1, PRN Radio).

 





The race is a part of the Craftsman Trucks Round of 10 Playoffs, race No. 2 in the three-race opening round. It’s also part of a Thursday night doubleheader at The Last Great Colosseum, which also features the ARCA Menards Series Bush’s Beans 200. The ARCA race will kick things off at 5:30 p.m. (FS1).

 

Regular-season champion Corey Heim is bringing all the momentum in the world to the World’s Fastest Half-Mile, however, as he took the victory in the Playoff opener at Darlington two weeks ago and is riding a three-race winning streak. Heim’s eight victories this season is a category-best stat.

 

“It feels like I’m in a dream,” Heim said. “Eight wins this year is phenomenal, man. It’s great to look back on, but we’ve also got so much to look forward to.”

 

Heim is also a past Bristol winner, so look out for the No. 11 truck to be a factor in qualifying as well as the 250-lap race. A sidenote on Heim, he is pulling double duty at Bristol and will also pilot the No. 67 23XI Racing machine in Saturday’s Bass Pro Shops Night Race.

 

Riggs, Daniel Hemric and Grant Enfinger are hot on Heim’s tail from a Playoff points perspective.

 

Riggs was emotional after winning here under the lights last September and this type of track certainly fits his aggressive style of racing.

 

“I wasn’t scared to throw it against the fence tonight,” Riggs said in Bristol’s Victory Lane one year ago. “The track was so fun. So much fun… At the end you could run the bottom or the top and get equal lap times.”

 

Riggs, currently second in the Playoffs, wasn’t a part of the Round of 10 when he won here last year and hopes to be able to cash in on another Bristol win when it will boost his post-season standing.

 

Two drivers looking for a strong run at Bristol to help their Playoff standing are Smith, who got off to a slow start in South Carolina, and Kaden Honeycutt, who also needs a bounce-back weekend in Tennessee. Both drivers enter the UNOH 250 below the cut line.

 

A championship favorite before his Darlington miscue, Smith, who admitted he made a rookie mistake by trying to run the wall a little too hard in that race, remains optimistic about his chances, especially since Bristol is next on his dance card.

 

“It stings, but right now it looks like we’re plus-one, but we’ve still got two races left going back to Bristol, where we won earlier this year and then New Hampshire for the last race of this round, where I’ve been really strong in the past as well,” Smith said. “I’m not really discouraged or anything about that. I think our pace in our trucks and our trucks here recently have been really good. Everybody at Front Row Motorsports has been giving be a truck capable of going out there and winning.”

 

Rising star Brent Crews will pilot the No. 1 truck for TRICON Garage and Corey Day will be at the controls of the No. 7 Spire Motorsports Chevy.

 

A couple other drivers to watch include former Cup wheelman Corey LaJoie, who will be driving the No. 77 Chevy for Spire and Mason Maggio, who will be filling in for the injured Frankie Muniz in the No. 33 Reaume Brothers entry.

 

The Abingdon, Va.-based Henderson Motorsports team will be racing with a heavy heart as they try to bring home a trophy in memory of their owner Charlie Henderson, who recently passed away. Driver Parker Kligerman has been a part of two NASCAR victories this season and would love to be able to grab a victory here in the No. 75 Chevy for the hometown team.

 

Some other drivers to keep an eye on are the rest of the Playoff contenders, who need a win to automatically advance to the Round of 8: Tyler Ankrum, former Bristol winner Ty Majeski, Rajah Caruth and Jake Garcia.

 





The young guns in the ARCA Menards Series return to take on the challenging half-mile bullring in the Bush’s Beans 200 and some of the featured drivers in the race include multi-time season winner Lawless Alan, Lavar Scott, Zachary Tinkle, Brent Crews, “Butterbean” Brenden Queen, Thad Moffitt, Jason Kitzmiller and Isabella Robusto.

 

Friend of Bristol Garrett Mitchell, known better as YouTube sensation Cleetus McFarland, is expected to make his fourth start of the season in the No. 30 Rette Jones Racing Ford. McFarland opened his ARCA season with a 30th place finish at Daytona in February, then improved to post a 10th-place finish at Talladega in April and in his most recent start earned a 9th-place finish at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May.

 

Nashville-based Logan Misuraca is scheduled to make her second Bristol ARCA appearance in the No. 9 Chevy for Rev Racing. It will be her first start this season and fifth career ARCA start. Her career-best finish of 18th came at Daytona in 2023.

 

A late entry into the Bush’s Beans 200 was Bobby Dale Earnhardt, the grandson of nine-time Bristol Cup winner Dale Earnhardt Sr. Bobby Dale will be driving the No. 31 Team Main Street machine for Rise Motorsports. This is Bobby Dale’s first Bristol start and it will be his fourth career ARCA Menards Series start.

 

The race weekend also features the Food City 300 NASCAR Xfinity Race on Friday night (7:30 p.m., The CW and PRN Radio) and Saturday’s crown jewel Bass Pro Shops Night Race in the NASCAR Cup Series (7:30 p.m., USA Network and PRN Radio). Both of those races are also NASCAR Playoff events.

Chase Briscoe Wins Back-To-Back Southern 500s, Clinches Round of 12 Spot

 

Chase Briscoe was perfection in a world of mistakes, a no-funny-business driver in a comedy of errors.

 

And at the end of the final green-flag run on Sunday night at Darlington Raceway — after a 20-lap stint of unrelenting tension — Briscoe was a back-to-back winner of the Cook Out Southern 500 and a guaranteed participant in the Round of 12 in the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs.

 

“Yeah, I think this is definitely what we’re capable of doing,” said Briscoe, who led Toyota drivers to their third 1-2-3-4 finish in Cup Series history, the last coming at Bristol Motor Speedway in 2017. “We haven’t been able to go out and dominate a race like that. The potential has been there from day one.

 

“So cool to win two Southern 500s in a row … A great way to start our playoffs. That was a lot of fun.”

 

Briscoe is the first driver to win consecutive Southern 500s since Greg Biffle accomplished the feat in 2005 and 2006.

 

Tyler Reddick finished second; Erik Jones placed third; John H Nemechek came in fourth and AJ Allmendinger completed the top five.

Zilisch Prevails in Overtime at Portland for Eighth Xfinity Series Win of 2025

 

A dramatic overtime pass for the win punctuated a nearly perfect afternoon for JR Motorsports driver Connor Zilisch at Portland International Raceway, where the 19-year-old claimed his series-best eighth NASCAR Xfinity Series win of the season – the best series victory total ever for a rookie driver.

 

Only weeks removed from breaking his collarbone celebrating another win at Watkins Glen International, Zilisch claimed pole position, won both stages, set fastest lap and celebrated it all in Victory Lane of the famed 1.967-mile road course in the scenic Pacific Northwest.

 

“To come back two weeks after collarbone surgery, it hurt, but it hurt so good,” said a grinning Zilisch, who now has 13 consecutive top-five finishes. “So proud of this 88 team. It’s been such a fun year. Let’s go get ourselves a championship.”

 

William Sawalich finished second; Nick Sanchez placed third; Christian Eckes came in fourth and Austin Hill completed the top five.

Business as Usual: Corey Heim Tames Darlington in Truck Series Playoffs Opener

 

Although the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series changed the clock from the regular season to the playoffs, it was still “Heim Time” on Saturday at Darlington Raceway.

 

Pulling away after a restart on Lap 134 of 147, Corey Heim won the playoff-opening Sober or Slammer 200 at the challenging 1.366-mile South Carolina track. The win was Heim’s eighth of the year, one short of Greg Biffle’s record nine-victory season in 1999.

 

Heim crossed the finish line 0.766 seconds ahead of fellow playoff driver Daniel Hemric to collect his first victory at the “Lady in Black” and the 19th of his career. With the win, Heim earned automatic advancement to the Round of 8.

 

The break at the end of Stage 2 proved fortunate for the race winner. Heim felt a tire losing air shortly before the end of the stage, but he survived the stage in second place and brought the No. 11 Tricon Garage Toyota to pit road before the tire went flat.

 

“Lucky it wasn’t a complete blowout — otherwise we would have been in trouble,” Heim said. “I could make a little bit of speed on the wall, but it was such a high-risk play if you scrubbed it. You saw so many people have those right-front issues.”

 

Daniel Hemric finished second; Grant Enfinger placed third; Ty Majeski came in fourth and Trevor Bayne completed the top five.

Brenden Queen Shows off His Dirt Track Experience with Victory at Duquoin

 

Known for his success in Late Model Stocks, ARCA Menards Series points leader Brenden Queen also has plenty of dirt experience on his résumé including Sunday’s win at Du Quoin State Fairgrounds.

 

Competing at tracks across the Southeast like Dixieland Speedway and Natural Bridge Speedway provided Queen with plenty of knowledge that he could apply to the two dirt venues on the ARCA Menards Series schedule. A top five at the Springfield Mile only fueled Queen’s desire to prove he could find Victory Lane on dirt with the Pinnacle Racing Group.

 

“I haven’t won a dirt race since 2022 when I ran full-time,” Queen said. “I think everybody counted me out to win one of these, but that’s why you never give up. These guys went to work after Springfield. We weren’t quite where we wanted to be, but we just hung in there all night and knew we had a good car.”

 

Lawless Alan finished second; Kelly Kovski placed third; Isabella Robusto came in fourth and Tim Monroe completed the top five.

William Byron Stretches Fuel for Iowa Cup Series Win

 

An extraordinary spate of cautions in Sunday’s Iowa Corn 350 Powered by Ethanol allowed William Byron to save an extraordinary amount of fuel, and that proved the difference in Byron’s second victory of the season and first since the Daytona 500.

 

With his first victory at the 0.875-mile short track and the 15th of his career, Byron regained the series lead by 18 points over teammate Chase Elliott, who finished 14th after pitting for fuel on Lap 283 of 350.

 

What enabled Byron to stretch his fuel to 144 laps was a series of seven quick cautions within 65 laps of the start of the final stage. All told, 12 cautions slowed the race for 72 laps.

 

“Man, how about that for some fuel mileage?” Byron asked rhetorically after climbing from his car. “We’ve had our fair share of things not go our way with fuel mileage, and just super thankful for (crew chief) Rudy (Fugle), all these guys, all the engineers, all the engineers back at the shop.

 

“Just this whole race team, we’ve been through a lot this year. It’s been a lot of growing pains. It’s been tough on us. But it feels really good today to get a win.”

 

Chase Briscoe finished second; Brad Keselowski placed third; Ryan Blaney came in fourth and Ryan Preece completed the top five.

Sam Mayer took control of Saturday’s Hy-Vee Perks 250 NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Iowa Speedway after a Lap 221 restart and maintained it the rest of the way to record the first victory for the Haas Factory team and the first in the series for Ford this season.

 

Mayer won at Iowa for the second straight year, having triumphed in a JR Motorsports Chevrolet last season.

 

“This one’s everything right here,” Mayer said of his eighth career win. “First win for Haas Factory Team — that’s awesome. This car was fast all day long. I tried to botch it on pit road, but we didn’t.

 

“I can’t believe it. This is one of the most special wins I have. These guys (Mayer’s team), they love me to death, I love them to death, and we’re just some good ol’ boys trying to go racing.”

 

Jesse Love finished second; Ross Chastain placed third; Connor Zilisch came in fourth and Harrison Burton completed the top five.

The distance between Brenden Queen and Brent Crews in Friday night’s ARCA Menards Series Atlas 150 was .412 seconds.

 

The time between Crews and third-place finisher Lawless Alan was much more than that.

 

Queen and Crews dominated the latest ARCA race at Iowa Speedway and the man they call “Butterbean” held off a late charge from Crews to win his fifth race of the season.

 

“You have to be in it to win it, and all it takes is a lap car and you are back in it or out of it,” Queen said. “The older I get I just learn to not panic.”

 

“I thought the lap cars were going to get me again,” Queen said. “We’ve raced against each other hard, and we know how hard we can push each other. He’s super talented and we’re pushing each other to be better.

 

“With six to go, we went for the same spot and drove the wheels off it.”

 

Brent Crews finished second; Lawless Alan placed third; Isabella Robusto came in fourth and Lavar Scott completed the top five.

Denny Hamlin prevailed in Sunday’s Autotrader EchoPark Automotive 400 at Dover Motor Speedway – a race that featured a 56-minute red flag for rain, late-race strategy decisions, and involved a pair of overtime restarts before the trophy was ultimately settled between a pair of Joe Gibbs Racing teammates.

 

But the veteran Hamlin got it all right when it mattered most, getting a jump on the field in both overtime restarts and in the end holding off newest teammate Chase Briscoe, who was even on fresher tires. It marks back-to-back wins at the Dover concrete mile for Hamlin and a NASCAR Cup Series-best fourth victory of 2025.

 

“Things were going pretty well there before the rain and then obviously had to endure a few restarts there,” said a smiling Hamlin, 44, who collected his 58th career Cup victory and first trophy since the birth of his son, Jameson, last month. “It was tough, those guys gave me a run for it, no doubt about it. Winning here at Dover is super special to me. This is a place I had not been very good at the first half of my career and then to have back-to-back (wins) here the last couple years is amazing.”

 

Chase Briscoe finished second, Alex Bowman placed third,  Kyle Larson finish fourth and Ty Gibbs completed the top five.

No Road Course, No Problem: Zilisch Wins Rain-Shortened Xfinity Race

 

Lest anyone doubt the all-around natural racing talent of 18-year-old Connor Zilisch, the rookie claimed a series best fourth NASCAR Xfinity Series victory on the season in Saturday’s rain-shortened BetRivers 200 at the one-mile Dover Motor Speedway.

 

Zilisch led 77 of the race’s 134 laps in his No. 88 JR Motorsports Chevrolet before NASCAR was forced to call the scheduled 200-lap race early because of rain. A pair of Joe Gibbs Racing Toyotas, driven by former NASCAR Cup Series veteran Aric Almirola and Xfinity regular Brandon Jones rounded out the top three.

 

Although he qualified third — three rookies topped the starting grid — Zilisch ran first or second for most of the race, ultimately taking the lead for good on the restart following the Stage 2 break.

 

“We’ve been showing it lately,” a smiling Zilisch said when he was informed on pit road the race was official and he was the winner. “First of all, I hate that we couldn’t finish the race the right way. Aric [Almirola] was really fast and was going to give me a run for my money. Props to him for making me work for it.

 

“Still really proud of this JR Motorsports team. … We capitalized on all fronts, had good pit stops both stages and put ourselves in a position to be in the right spot when the rain fell. Very thankful.”

 

Aric Almirola finished second. Brandon Jones placed third, Justin Allgaier finished fourth and Jesse Love completed the top five.

Brenden Queen Masters the Monster Mile for Fourth ARCA Victory of 2025

 

A busy weekend for Brenden ‘Butterbean’ Queen got off to a perfect start during Friday’s General Tire 150 at Dover Motor Speedway, the first of four combination events between the national ARCA Menards Series and ARCA Menards Series East this season.

 

Queen controlled the race from the opening green flag, pulling away to secure a commanding, wire-to-wire victory. The triumph was not only Queen’s fourth victory on the 2025 ARCA Menards Series season, but also his first with the East Series.

 

The day was not without some tribulations for Queen, who briefly had to nurse a broken track bar during the middle portion of the General Tire 150. Once the issue was repaired during the second race break, Queen returned to his dominant form and finished off his stellar performance in Victory Lane.

 

“This team is so bad to the bone,” Queen said. “I thought it was over. I never give up, but I something broke there, but these guys knew what it was and got it fixed. Just a bad to the bone race car tonight.”

 

Along with his victory, Queen also enjoyed a successful points day at Dover Motor Speedway. Lavar Scott and Lawless Alan, his closest pursuers in the ARCA Menards Series stadnings, endured separate tire issues during the General Tire 150, relegating them to several laps down in the running order and costing both significant ground to Queen in the ARCA Menards Series standings.

 

Camden Murphy finished second. Isabella Robusto placed third. Isaac Kitzmiller came in fourth and Tyler Reif completed the top five.

Denny Hamlin landed his third victory of the NASCAR Cup Series season, coming out ahead in a fuel-mileage contest Sunday afternoon at Michigan International Speedway.


Hamlin led just five of the 200 laps in Sunday’s FireKeepers Casino 400, guiding the No. 11 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota to a 1.099-second margin of victory. His third win at the 2-mile Michigan track was the 57th of his Cup Series career.

 

Chris Buescher placed second in the No. 17 RFK Racing Ford. Ty Gibbs wound up third with Bubba Wallace fourth and Kyle Larson completing the top five.

 

“No, not really,” Hamlin said, insisting he wasn’t overly worried about running out of fuel in the closing laps. “I wanted to get the lead, and obviously he [Byron] was doing a really good job defending.


“Sorry, but I beat your favorite driver,” a grinning Hamlin – in his 701st career series start – addressed the rowdy Michigan crowd.


“This whole team just stepped up,” he said. “Great job. We’ve been so fast this entire year, just haven’t finished it for one reason or another, so it feels good to come to Michigan, where we’ve been so close the last couple of years. 


“Such a gratifying day to restart 11th or 12th and charge to the front,” added Hamlin, who has now won multiple races in the last seven consecutive seasons.

Stewart Friesen Snaps 72-Race Winless Streak in Truck Series at Michigan

 

Stewart Friesen hoisted his first trophy of the season in Saturday afternoon’s triple overtime DQS Solutions & Staffing 250 at Michigan International Speedway — a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series vrace that didn’t want to end, ultimately featuring 14 extra laps.

 

The victory snapped a 72-race winless streak for the Canadian driver Friesen, who had not been among the race’s front-runners all day but was where he needed to be when it counted, collecting his first trophy since 2022 at Texas Motor Speedway. His No. 52 Halmar Friesen Racing Toyota beat Grant Enfinger’s Chevrolet by 0.111 seconds.

 

With most drivers opting for the outside row for lane choice on the final restart, Friesen moved up and took the inside position on the front row alongside Enfinger. The two of them dueled it out over the next two overtime laps to settle the trophy. Neither had a win this season coming into the race.

 

“I don’t know what to say, thank you to Chris, Halmar and all these sponsors and all these race fans, I know there’s a lot of Canadians and a lot of Americans,” Friesen said as the crowd began a huge roar of approval for the 41-year-old Ontario native as he celebrated his fourth career win.

Brenden Queen Fends Off Corey Heim for 3rd ARCA Menards Series Victory of 2025

 

Earning another ARCA Menards Series checkered flag on Friday evening required Brenden Queen to put on a defensive clinic.

 

NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driver Corey Heim, a late addition to Friday’s race, was a constant presence in Queen’s rearview mirror during the closing stages of the Henry Ford Health 200 at Michigan International Speedway. The only things Queen could do were break the draft and dump as much dirty air on Heim’s front bumper as he could.

 

Queen withstood Heim’s spirited charge to claim his third ARCA Menards Series victory across seven career starts. The final laps featured plenty of stress and included contact with Gio Ruggiero on the final restart, but the always jovial Queen was elated to celebrate a win in his first trip to Michigan.

 

“I have so much respect for [Heim] and Gio [Ruggiero],” Queen said. ‘What happened with me and Gio going into [turn] three [on the last restart], I’m not sure if I turned in early. If it was my fault, I’m sorry. We were racing for the win there.”

 

“I knew I was going to have to hold off Heim Time there, but it’s Bean Nation time tonight!”
