Brad Keselowski Goes to Roush Fenway Racing

Brad Keselowski Goes to Roush Fenway Racing 2021

Full-Time Driver and Minority Owner

Brad Keselowski Goes to Roush Fenway Racing 2021

Roush Fenway Racing and NASCAR Champion Brad Keselowski have announced a partnership beginning in 2022 in which Keselowski will assume an ownership role and serve as head of the team’s competition committee, while also piloting the team’s flagship No. 6 Ford Mustang. The partnership pairs one of the most successful organizations in NASCAR history with a perennial NASCAR contender and Champion.

“I’m truly excited about this partnership with Brad,” said Roush. “I think it will bring a lot to the organization, from not only Brad’s ability behind the wheel, but a rejuvenation and fresh perspective across our teams. I’ve had the opportunity to watch Brad for a number of years, as he has fought and clawed his way up the ladder, molding himself into a champion and one of the top drivers in our sport. I’ve always admired his resolve and determination. I’m very pleased that he has chosen to be a part of our organization and I’m proud to partner with him moving into the future.”

Roush founded the team in 1988 and it has since become one of the most successful racing operations in the world, propelling him to be the first NASCAR owner to amass three hundred wins and capturing eight championships, including back-to-back NASCAR Cup titles in 2003 and 2004.

“We are thrilled to have Brad on board. In the short amount of time that we’ve been around him, you can see some of the same traits in Brad that are the common blend with both Jack Roush and John Henry,” said Fenway Sports Group executive vice president, corporate strategy and general counsel Ed Weiss. “Brad has a relentless desire to compete and win and that fits in perfectly with our core objectives across all of the properties at Fenway Sports Group.”

Keselowski has been a consistent contender at NASCAR’s highest level for the past decade, having tallied 35 wins in NASCAR Cup Series competition while qualifying for the NASCAR Playoffs for 10 consecutive seasons. He led Team Penske to its first NASCAR Cup Series Championship in 2012 and has finished inside the top 10 in eight of the last 10 seasons, including a runner-up finish in 2020. Overall, Keselowski boasts 75 NASCAR wins and has led more than 14,000 laps.

“I am thrilled to be able to share the news about this next venture with my fans, peers, and the industry,” said Keselowski. “This presents an opportunity to continue my on-track success with a strong team and a long-term commitment, but also dive into my passion of team ownership where I know I can be an asset to the future of the team. I am optimistic about what Jack, John and I can accomplish together, especially with a new era for our sport on the horizon (with the Next Gen car). Our goal is to win races and compete for championships at NASCAR’s top level, and we plan to do just that.”

Considered a pioneer in driver development, Roush initially teamed with future Hall of Famer Mark Martin, forming what would grow into one of the most formidable duos in NASCAR history. In addition, he was responsible for launching the careers of NASCAR Champions Matt Kenseth, Greg Biffle, Kurt Busch, Carl Edwards, Ricky Stenhouse Jr., Chris Buescher and many others. Currently Roush’s Fords have driven to victory lane on 325 occasions, while leading over 68,000 laps in NASCAR action.

As an owner, Keselowski finished runner up in the NASCAR Truck Series twice while consistently fielding championship-contending entries and helping to launch the careers of some of the sport’s most formidable rising stars such as Ryan Blaney, Ross Chastain, Tyler Reddick, Daniel Hemric, Chase Briscoe and Austin Cindric.

This marks the second major ownership addition to the team since its inception. Roush partnered with Fenway Sports Group owner John Henry, who also owns Major League Baseball’s Boston Red Sox and English Premier League’s Liverpool F.C., in 2007 to form Roush Fenway Racing. Tom Werner, Mike Gordon, Lebron James and Maverick Carter are also key partners in the Fenway Sports Group.

The team will provide additional details on driver lineup, partners and other team assets at a later date.

Castrol® Supports Roush Fenway Racing To Power First Carbon Neutral NASCAR Race Team

Roush Fenway will be powered by Castrol as it delivers carbon reduction and offset programs across team's operations both on and off the track

Roush Fenway Racing today announced that the team has become the first carbon neutral NASCAR race team, powered by its official sponsor Castrol. Throughout the 2021 NASCAR season, Castrol will power the Roush Fenway team by supporting Roush Fenway's carbon reduction and offset programs across their operations both on and off the track.

"As an organization, Roush Fenway has always been environmentally conscious," said Roush Fenway President Steve Newmark. "Our hope with this program is to demonstrate that every business, small or large, and regardless of industry, can contribute to address global climate challenges. We hope to set an example and highlight that small steps by many can make a real difference."

Roush Fenway has achieved carbon neutrality for the entire organization including operations, the two race teams and race cars for the period between 1 January 2020 and 31 December 2020, according to the PAS 2060 standard as verified by ERM CVS (independent 3rd party).

The partnership between Roush Fenway and Castrol is designed to help the team better manage its greenhouse gas emissions by tracking, quantifying, and reducing those emissions, and offsetting the balance with high-quality carbon offsets.

"At Castrol, we believe that small steps together can make a difference," said Castrol's Vice President of Marketing Rayne Pacek. "We want to play our part and teaming up with Roush Fenway to achieve their carbon neutral ambitions is a notable milestone in the sport and another step in supporting our partners in their efforts to drive change."

In addition to working with Roush Fenway, Castrol plans to drive change by expanding its carbon neutral product range, reducing the carbon used in its production, and offering a new and expanded range of services – all to give consumers and customers more lower carbon choices.

"It's an honor to pave the way in the sport and bring awareness to the importance of reducing your carbon footprint," said Roush Fenway Driver Ryan Newman. "Every business can make choices to help promote a more sustainable future and this program makes me proud to be part of a team that takes the initiative to drive change."

As part of the program, Newman's traditionally green and red Castrol No 6. Ford Mustang will don an all-white paint scheme featuring a grey Castrol badge and muted logos from partners like Ford Motor Company, Kohler Generators, Oscar Mayer, Coca-Cola, Guaranteed Rate, MacTools, and Wyndham Rewards to show their support of the initiative. This paint scheme will be used at the Daytona Road Course on Sunday, February 21, 2021.

The initiative is part of Castrol's ongoing relationship with Roush Fenway and is another step towards supporting its partners in achieving their lower carbon ambitions. Consumers interested in learning more about Roush Fenway carbon neutral initiative powered by Castrol can visit Castrol.com/DrivingForChange. Visitors can also enter for a chance to win Ryan Newman race-used gear following the Daytona Road Race on February 21, 2021.

#NASCAR Driver Newman Remains at Halifax Medical Center

#NASCAR Driver Newman Remains at Halifax Medical Center

Prayers for the ‘Rocket Man’

Update: Rocket Man is indestructible!
Update: Ryan is awake and speaking with family and doctors

#NASCAR Driver Newman Remains at Halifax Medical Center

Steve Newmark, president of Roush Fenway Racing just updated an anxious NASCAR Nation about the #6 Koch Industries Ford driver’s (Ryan Newman) medical condition. As you can deduce from the tweet below the update was purposefully generically neutral.

What Happened: After being in contention for much of the late stages of the race, Newman took the lead from Denny Hamlin on the final lap, using a bump draft from Ryan Blaney to put himself in position to win the Daytona 500 for the second time. As Blaney got a run off of Turn Four and attempted a race-winning pass, Newman blocked Blaney's advance, resulting in contact between the two cars. Newman's car slammed into the outside wall, flipping over and then being struck on the driver's side by Corey LaJoie's oncoming car. Hamlin won the race; Newman slid past the start-finish on his sparking hood for a ninth place finish.

Newman had to be cut out of his car before being transported directly to nearby Halifax Medical Center, where he remains today.

NASCAR Nation Prays for Newman

Mastercam And Roush Yates Engines Renew Partnership

Roush Yates Engines announced a multi-year partnership extension agreement with CNC Software, Inc. for Mastercam to continue as the official CAD/CAM software of Roush Yates Engines and Roush Yates Manufacturing Solutions. After starting the partnership in 2015, this extension will partner these two innovative companies together until 2025.

Mastercam, an industry leader for more than 35 years in CAD/CAM software, delivers CNC programing solutions in 75 countries around the world. Their strategy of combining superior software programming with continuous development and support makes their product the best in the industry.

This is why Roush Yates Engines selected Mastercam as their CAD/CAM software to program more than 50 CNC machines in a newly renovated, climate controlled, 88,000 square foot facility in Mooresville, North Carolina.

“With a shared commitment of quality and objective to deliver the best products to our engine programs, partnering with Mastercam ensures us a continued level of excellence,” said Mitch Miller, General Manager, Roush Yates Manufacturing Solutions. “Their software and continued collaboration are vital to our success on the race track and we look forward to expanding this valued partnership into the future.”

Mastercam software is invaluable to the production of more than 40% of the engine components that power the Ford NASCAR FR9 EFI and IMSA Ford EcoBoost race engines. Thousands of components are milled and drilled with the use of Mastercam software programming. It is critical that these parts meet the tightest of tolerances to support our engine designs and development process.

To deliver the best on the race track and compete globally, you need to partner with the best. That’s why Roush Yates Engines and Roush Yates Manufacturing Solutions partner with Mastercam.

Stas Mylek, Partnership Program Manager at CNC Software, Inc., says “We are privileged to have Roush Yates Engines as a valued partner for the next five years. They not only push their engines but have been instrumental in driving Mastercam to new levels of performance through the ongoing collaboration between the two companies. It’s exciting to witness the significant growth in their shop, the product and services they provide, and their use of Mastercam.”

Roush Fenway Drivers' Daytona Race Recap

Roush Fenway Drivers' Daytona Race Recap

# MENCS Ricky Stenhouse Jr. – 17 / #NXS Austin Cindric – 33 & Ryan Reed – 26

After Leading 51 Laps, Stenhouse Jr. Salvages a 17th-Place Finish

After Leading 51 Laps, Stenhouse Jr. Salvages a 17th-Place Finish at Daytona

After a dominating performance picking up two stage wins in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Daytona Event, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. was forced to settle with a 17th-place finish after leading 51 laps in Saturday night’s Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway.

“We definitely brought what I feel like was the best car in the field,” Stenhouse said. “Winning two stages was nice but obviously we wanted to win at the end because that would get us into the playoffs. I was frustrated with myself causing crashes like that. It was definitely a bummer of a night.”

Reed Collected Three Laps Shy of the Checkered Flag at Daytona

Reed Collected Three Laps Shy of the Checkered Flag at Daytona

Ryan Reed, a two-time Daytona Champion, put forth a valiant effort Friday evening. Reed started in the back of the field and worked his way forward through the pack multiple times throughout the 100-lap event before being collected three laps shy of the checkered flag. The damage was too severe to finish and Reed was credited with a 26th-place finish in his No. 16 Drive Down A1C Lilly Diabetes Ford Fusion.

“They were wrecking going through the tri-oval up top and I got hooked in the left-rear,” said Reed. “I don’t know if I came down some on the No. 11 or not, it was just chaos. It’s just Daytona. You’re just scrapping and hoping for the best there. We’ve been on the right side of it a few times and tonight we weren’t. We knew we were fast. It was a typical deal and we got a shot, but we didn’t quite get to the end of that thing.

“We could get to the front. Once you get into the top 10 it’s hard to move around, but we could fly up to the top 10 every time, so that was never a worry of mine. It’s disappointing. We went through the grass and that ripped the nose off, so we were done after that. It’s just one of those deals.”

Cindric’s Strong Run Cut Short at Daytona

Cindric’s Strong Run Cut Short at Daytona

Austin Cindric’s strong, top-five run was cut short Friday night at Daytona International Speedway after his Odyssey Battery No. 60 Ford Mustang was caught up in a late-race caution ending the night early.

“I’m fine, it’s just unfortunate,” Cindric said after a scary crash. “We had such a strong run and it came to an end early. There are plenty of things I can complain about, but I have to be thankful that Roush and NASCAR and everybody else who puts safety first really comes to fruition in situations like that.

“It’s definitely the biggest wreck I’ve ever had. It’s unfortunate I keep having those at Daytona. I’ve got to quit going to this infield care center here. I know all the people and all the faces. They’re very nice, but it’s just a shame. We were giving Odyssey Batteries and the Ford guys and Roush guys a great run and it’s too bad to see us come up short.”

Stenhouse Jr. a Rising Star at Restrictor Plate Tracks

Don’t Count Ricky Out at Daytona #NASCAR #MENCS

As the series heads to Daytona this weekend for the Coke Zero Sugar 400 on Saturday night (7 p.m. ET on NBC, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio), could Stenhouse Jr. be a repeat winner? He won this race last year. He will start today’s race in sixth place, so the speed is there.

After coming off his career best season, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. is again piloting the Fastenal Ford Fusion for Roush Fenway Racing during the 2018 Monster Energy #NASCAR Cup Series (#MENCS) season. This year is his sixth season behind the wheel of the #17.

Don’t Count Ricky Out at Daytona #NASCAR #MENCS
The 2017 MENCS season saw a lot of firsts for Stenhouse Jr. In May, he earned his first MENCS victory after starting from the pole position and taking the lead on the final lap at Talladega Superspeedway to clinch a spot in the playoffs.

He followed up his Talladega win in July when he scored his second victory of the season at Daytona International Speedway. In thirty-six (36) starts, Stenhouse accumulated two wins, four top-five and nine top=tens, ending the season in 13th-place overall in the standings.

Ricky currently sits sixteenth in the point standing; and just outside a playoff slot in seventeenth. A win this weekend would guarantee him a spot in the big show for the championship.

On the positive side, some of Ricky Stenhouse Jr.’s best racing performances have come out of the two restrictor plate tracks - Daytona International Speedway and Talladega Superspeedway – during the four total visits the Monster Energy Series makes to the tracks each season. His two career series wins and six of his 13 career top-five finishes have been at these two circuits.

Happy 76th Birthday Jack Roush

Happy 76th Birthday Jack Roush

NASCAR Hall Of Fame Nominee - Racer – Champion – Pioneer

Jack Roush’s two passions in life have always been racing and aviation.

Jack Roush’s two passions in life have always been racing and aviation. In a career that spans over 50 years, Roush has taken his two passions and turned them into the iconic American dream.

Jack Roush is a quintessential entrepreneur, champion race car owner, and pioneer of engineering services. #NASCAR

Roush the quintessential entrepreneur, champion race car owner, and pioneer of engineering services was born in the small town of Covington, Kentucky and grew up not far away in Manchester, Ohio. Earning a mathematics degree with a minor in physics from Berea College (he later received a master’s in scientific mathematics from Eastern Michigan University). Faced with a decision at graduation to work for Ford Motor Co. or Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, he decided to move to Dearborn, Michigan to work for Ford, where his legendary story began.

Ford and Roush have a long and successful relationship, spanning over 50 years. I

Ford and Roush have a long and successful relationship, spanning over 50 years. It was at Ford Motor Co. where Roush was first introduced to the Ford employee race team called “The Fastbacks", known for their drag racing. Roush became even more passionate about racing and competition, taking his passion for racing one step further, in 1970, he partnered with Wayne Gapp in a racing venture that would see the duo win three national Pro Stock championships, one each in the NHRA, IHRA and AHRA Pro Stock drag racing series.

In the mid-1970’s, Roush decided to start his first engineering business and formed Jack Roush Performance Engineering in 1976.

In the mid-1970’s, Roush decided to start his first engineering business and formed Jack Roush Performance Engineering in 1976. His reputation in the world of high-performance engine building kept him rooted in the sport of racing; producing engines for numerous teams throughout the early 80’s.

In 1984, Roush was asked by Ford to develop a car for the SCCA Trans-Am and IMSA Camel GT racing series. He took on this new opportunity and won the 1985 manufacturer’s championship for Lincoln-Mercury in addition to winning an unprecedented 119 races and 24 national championships between the two series.

Roush went onto launch his first NASCAR Cup team with driver Mark Martin (NASCAR Hall of Famer) in 1988. Roush and Martin claimed their first NASCAR Cup victory at North Carolina Motor Speedway in 1989, creating one of the sports’ most famed partnerships. Partnering with Fenway Sports Group (FSG), Roush transformed Roush Fenway Racing into one of the most successful teams in the history of professional sports, achieving 325 NASCAR wins and eight NASCAR championships to date.

“Happy Birthday and congratulations to one of my heroes, mentors and a great friend to our family on the NASCAR Hall of Fame nomination,” said Doug Yates, President and CEO of Roush Yates Engines. “Jack has been a champion and icon in the sport of racing for over 50 years, accomplishing achievements we can only hope to reach. It is my honor to be your partner and to call you my friend.”

Happy Birthday Jack Roush

For almost 50 years Roush has been committed to winning on and off the track. As a direct result of Roush’s hard work, drive and dedication he has turned his love of racing into 43 championships, more than 500 race wins in drag racing, sports car and stock car racing, 1,000 top-5 and over 2,000 top-10 finishes, while leading over 57,000 laps and turning well over a million miles.

As an advocate for the sport of auto racing, Roush advanced the safety of the cars. He brought together his knowledge of aviation and aerodynamics to determine how the changes to car designs in the 1990’s affected their aerodynamics and used this research to create the roof flaps which gave the cars more downforce to keep them on the ground in case of an accident. Roush is one of today’s professional sports’ premiere owners and champions for the sport of racing.

As a racer and champion, Jack Roush has taken his two passions, cars and aviation, and turned them into his life’s’ work. Creating six organizations; Roush Industries, Roush Performance, Roush Clean Tech, Roush Fenway Racing, Roush Assembly Solutions and Roush Yates Engines.

As chairman of the board of Roush Enterprises, Inc., which employs more than 4,000 people and operates facilities across North America, Europe and Asia, Roush has taken his winning record on the track and applied it to the boardroom to become one of the most successful automotive entrepreneurs of the modern era.

Jack Roush to Be Honored by NCMA with Prestigious ‘Achievement in Motorsports Tribute Award’

“Jack Roush’s contributions to motorsports are immeasurable and for 30 years, Roush Fenway Racing has been the standard in innovation and performance,” said NCMA Chairman Greg Fornelli. “When you look at his innovations, his record of success and his impact on the sport of auto racing, Jack Roush is the epitome of achievement in motorsports and we look forward to celebrating his amazing career on our biggest night.”

Roush, who founded Roush Fenway Racing in the late eighties, is the winningest car owner in NASCAR history. The Covington, Ky. native started his NASCAR career in 1988 and has amassed eight championships across NASCAR’s three main major series, including two in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS), five in the NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) and one in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) with drivers Kurt Busch, Matt Kenseth, Greg Biffle, Carl Edwards, Chris Buescher and Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

Overall, Roush has earned a NASCAR-record 325 wins – including two Daytona 500 victories – 1,456 top-five finishes, 2,566 top-10 finishes, 232 poles, 67,783 laps led and has an average finish of 14.1 in 5,878 career NASCAR starts.

Roush’s multi-car efficiency of scale model become one of the most successful in NASCAR history, with his organization placing an unprecedented five teams in the 2005 10-team ‘Chase’, after coming off back-to-back Sprint Cup Championships in 2003 and 2004. Roush has also been recognized as one of the premier leaders in the garage in driver development, with Roush Fenway having led drivers to 13 NASCAR rookie of the year awards. The Roush Fenway organization currently fields multiple teams in MENCS and the NXS with drivers Stenhouse, Trevor Bayne, Ryan Reed, Chase Briscoe, Ty Majeski and Austin Cindric.

An engineer at heart, Roush has always employed a solutions-based approach, be it in competition, business or safety initiatives. He has been involved in numerous safety innovations, including the roof flaps designed to disrupt airflow and prevent cars from going airborne that now are standard equipment for all NASCAR racers.

Roush collaborated with Robert Yates and Ford Motor Company in 2003 to join forces as the exclusive Ford Engine builder for NASCAR. These two legendary engine builders, led by President & CEO Doug Yates helped turned Roush Yates Engines into an immediate success and to date has achieved over 280 combined wins in the NASCAR, IMSA (International Motor Sports Association) and FIA (Federation Internationale De L’Automobile) Series.

In addition, Roush owns Roush Industries, Inc., which employs more than 1,800 people and operates facilities in five states, as well as in Mexico and Great Britain. It is primarily known for providing engineering, management and prototype services to the transportation industry. Roush has also developed a significant role in engineering and manufacturing in the electronics, sports equipment, aviation and motorsports industries.

The ceremony takes place at the Embassy Suites Concord Convention Center from 5:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. ET.

Trevor Bayne is ready for the 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (#MENCS) season. On January 24th, the driver of the No. 6 AdvoCare Ford Fusion joined Claire B. Lang for this week’s episode of “Jack’s Garage.”

Trevor discussed his family’s offseason move to Tennessee and how he feels going into the upcoming MENCS season.

The Knoxville, Tennessee, native relocated his family last December from the Charlotte area to his hometown, which is more than 200 miles from Roush’s headquarters in Concord, North Carolina.

Bayne, though, plans to travel weekly to his team’s shop so he can meet with officials and crew members on Tuesday or Wednesday.

“They’ve been great with it,” Bayne said during the NASCAR on NBC podcast of Roush’s reaction to the move. “As long as I’m committed in getting my work done, they shouldn’t know a difference.

“A lot of drivers will (use video conferencing) or call into the meeting, and it’s like being there, but I actually want to be present as much as possible for the guys who aren’t in the meeting. The guys working in the shop or body shop that want to see you and know what’s going on to know that you’re committed.”
