No Surprise - Tony Stewart Wins in the Dirt

No Surprise - Tony Stewart Wins in the Dirt

SRX Race at Eldora Speedway

No Surprise - Tony Stewart Wins in the Dirt #srx

Smoke (Tony Stewart) drove around Eldora Speedway like he owned the place during Thursday's SRX event at the Rossburg, Ohio dirt track. Oh wait - Stewart has owned the Big E (Eldora Speedway) since 2004.  Last night, he led all 75 laps of the main event to claim his first SRX win of the 2023 season.

With the win, Stewart is now a perfect two-for-two in SRX races at the track that he owns. The win was his fifth overall SRX victory and his fourth win at a dirt track. In addition to his two wins at Eldora, the three-time #NASCAR Cup Champion also has victories at Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 and Knoxville Raceway. The only dirt track SRX race he hasn't won came last year at Sharon Speedway, where he finished second.

Stewart won both heat races to claim the pole for Thursday's race and dominated the main event before needing to hold off a hard-charging Hailie Deegan to claim the win. Deegan was in a back-up car after being involved in a six-car crash during the first heat race.

"Hailie Deegan is a hell of a dirt track racer,” TonyStewart

What was a bit of a surprise was the hard-charging drive delivered by second place finisher Hailie Deegan.

“That’s one thing people don’t realize, Hailie Deegan is a hell of a dirt track racer,” Stewart said. “If she gets to second, she’s going to put on pressure. I just had to try to get some clean laps on restarts, get in a rhythm and get going.”

Deegan was involved in a first heat crash when Austin Dillon, making his SRX debut, lost his radiator hose and slid straight into the outside wall.

“When it happened, I was immediately right behind him (Dillon),” Deegan told Frontstretch. “Nothing I could do in that situation. That’s the first time that’s happened to me, where someone’s blown up directly in front of me.”

Deegan finished the race in her backup car and received a huge standing ovation and tons of cheers from fans.

“Oh man, I don’t know what’s happened the last couple of weeks or what’s changed, but I feel a lot more confidence the last couple of months,” Deegan said with a broad smile on her face. “I feel like these last two or three races, it’s coming (together) and I’m starting to get those finishes, getting more speed and it’s all coming together.

“I’ve been working real hard the last couple of weeks and it’s really paying off.”

Ryan Newman's Revenge

Ryan Newman's Revenge #SRX

Captures the SRX #Win at Stafford

The 18-time NASCAR Cup Series winner earned his second win in three career tries at the track in the Camping World Superstar Racing Experience series.

Ryan Newman's Revenge #SRX

Last night, Ryan Newman once again showed why he loves the little bullring known as Stafford Speedway, earning his second win in three career tries at the track in the Camping World Superstar Racing Experience (SRX) series.

Newman won at Stafford last year, was runner-up in last week’s race there, and was king of the hill again during ESPN’s Thursday Night Thunder in the No. 39. Just like he did in his win at Stafford last year, Rocket Man took the lead with six laps to go and ultimately drove right into victory lane.

“It was tough,” Newman said of his path to victory lane Thursday night. “Those guys had a pretty good pace at the start there and my fat butt had to get out. I’m so proud of this opportunity.”

“We kept easy on the brakes at the start of the race and I figure that was the difference,” Newman said. “Those guys were pretty hard, I saw their brakes and rotors glowing.”

“I promised some people a little bit, and I’m going to try not to tear up, that I’d park it in victory lane, so this goes out to the Clausen family in the memory of Bryan Clauson,” Newman said. “It’s a special moment and I’m so happy to be here.”

Tyler Reddick Holds Off Chase Elliott

Tyler Reddick Holds Off Chase Elliott

It was a dogfight between two drivers, pure and simple.

It was Tyler Reddick who outdueled pole winner Chase Elliott in the intense mano-a-mano battle in Sunday’s Kwik Trip 250 at Road America.

The victory was Reddick’s first in the NASCAR Cup Series, making him the fifth first-time winner this season. As the 13th different winner this year, Reddick shrank the Playoff bubble by one position.

“I definitely knew he was fast, but we could stay with him on the long run, which told me if we cycled through that last … that pit sequence, we’d be close or get around him (on pit road), (and) we’d have a great shot.

“Didn’t quite get around him. We were within reach. Thankfully, just waited for the right opportunity and was able to take advantage of it in Turn 6.”

“What better place than Road America?” Reddick said. “I love the fans. I love this race track. Being here on 4th of July weekend is just so special, and just a huge shoutout to (sponsor) 3Chi and the special paint scheme we had this weekend.

Ty Gibbs Overtakes Kyle Larson For The #Win

Ty Gibbs Overtakes Kyle Larson For The #Win

With a masterful pass of pole winner Kyle Larson on the final lap of overtime, Ty Gibbs won Saturday‘s Henry 180 at Road America.

Larson took the white flag in the lead, but Gibbs had a better run down the frontstretch and dogged Larson‘s No. 17 Chevrolet through Turns 1 and 2. Gibbs took advantage of an opening to the inside in Turn 3 and powered his No. 54 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota past Larson for the lead and the win.

“This is just awesome,” Gibbs said, who had just beaten the reigning NASCAR Cup Series champion head-to-head. “I can‘t believe it. This is just wonderful.”

“I think we were a little bit faster in the first half of the track… Hopefully, a lot of people were watching. It‘s cool to be here, a cool race against some Cup Series guys. Hopefully, that says something.”

ARCA - West

Jake Drew wins at Irwindale for Third Straight West Victory

Jake Drew wins at Irwindale for Third Straight West Victory

Jake Drew made a statement Saturday night in the face of anybody who felt inclined to discredit his pair of victories in the previous two ARCA Menards Series West races.

Drew, the 22-year-old Sunrise Ford Racing driver from Fullerton, California, dominated the NAPA Auto Parts 150 presented by the West Coast Stock Car Hall of Fame and picked up his third consecutive West Series victory. Unofficially, he led all 154 laps at Irwindale Speedway.

He did so on the heels of winning back-to-back road course races in the West Series, the first at Portland International Raceway on June 4 for his maiden West Series victory, and the second at Sonoma Raceway on June 11. Both wins came in races that were shortened, the first by weather conditions and the second by time constraints.

“Three in a row — it’s incredible. I feel on top of the world,” said Drew, whose win at Irwindale marked his first ARCA victory on an oval track. “This is a dream come true.”

“I have a great team around me, and I’ve learned so much the last year and a half,” Drew said. “I feel like these last couple of races, pieces have really started to click in my head. I think experience is showing right now.”

NASCAR’s Ryan Newman Wins His First SRX Race at Stafford Motor Speedway

Former NASCAR star Ryan Newman passed IndyCar driver Marco Andretti with four laps to go in the 75-lap event and held on to take the checkered flag, joining Helio Castroneves and defending SRX champion Tony Stewart as winners in the first three races of the six-race season.

“It’s just so special,” Newman told CBS Sports of both the win and that his two daughters, Brooklyn and Ashlyn, were on hand to cheer him on. “To have these two girls right here, nobody knows what that means to me.

“I got a good dive in between (turns) 3 and 4 and I learned yesterday (during Friday’s practice) it’s easier to pass in 3 and 4 than 1 and 2. So that’s where I put my effort and we were able to pull it off.”

Camping World SRX Series at 5 Flags

Camping World SRX Series at 5 Flags

Camping World SRX Series at 5 Flags

When the idea of a Superstar Racing Experience touring series was first tossed around a few years ago, the immediate goal was focusing on iconic short-track speedways.

As any Five Flags Speedway loyalist will attest, a list of historic short tracks would be incomplete if it didn’t include the famed half-mile asphalt oval tucked away two miles off I-10, on Pine Forest Road.

Cut to today and the Camping World SRX Series is opening its second season Saturday night at Five Flags with an otherworldly car collection of NASCAR legends, Indianapolis 500 winners and champions from other professional motorsports series. The 12-car field includes present and future Hall of Famers, such as Bill Elliott, Tony Stewart, Greg Biffle, Tony Kanaan, Marco Andretti, Paul Tracy and others.

“We were humbled when we received the call that we were being considered for one of the six events,” Five Flags General Manager Tim Bryant said. “There are hundreds of short tracks around the country that would jump at a chance to host an SRX event. We are over-the-top excited to put on a great show for Pensacola and showcase our city.”

The 75-lap SRX race brings a CBS TV production crew, which will broadcast the two-hour event live to a national audience beginning at 7 p.m. District 1 and Board of Escambia County Commissioners Chairman Jeff Bergosh believes the two-hour Saturday primetime spotlight will enhance the city’s profile and deliver a “shot in the arm financially from all the visitors who attend.”

“This Saturday's arrival of the SRX series in Pensacola at Five Flags Speedway will be an incredible experience for Escambia County and District 1,” Bergosh continued. “With renowned drivers, this will be like an all-star event. I look forward to attending Saturday's race.”

General admission is $35 with advanced reserved seats $40 and $45 for reserved seats on race day. Grandstands open at 11 a.m. Saturday with a brief SRX autograph session beginning at 2:15 p.m. approximately. There will be a fan zone under a tent behind the grandstands and cooling misters sprinkled throughout the facility for fans to beat the blistering June heat.

The Faith Chapel Outlaws are the appetizer to SRX’s main course and will vie for a winner-take-all $3,000 in their 50-lap feature. At least 25 Outlaws will qualify at 4 p.m. Saturday before dropping the green flag at 5. Just a few years old, the Outlaws continue to be among the most competitive series at Pensacola’s high banks. Pensacola veteran Logan Boyett leads Panama City teenager Timothy Watson by a single point in the season standings heading into the big-dollar 50 lapper.

Included among the dozen SRX stars is Deep South Cranes Blizzard Series stud Bubba Pollard. Pollard earned his spot by having the best average finish (third) at the Pepperjack Kennels Twin Blizzard weekend in early April. Pollard is a machine at Five Flags with 24 Late Model career victories.

“(SRX’s) idea of adding a local into the field was really smart,” Bryant said. “It allows some of our regular race fans to identify with one of their own among the best of the best. We felt, with so many deserving drivers, the only fair way to do it was let them earn the right into the SRX race and that’s what Bubba did. I know a legion of fans from Senoia, Ga., are coming down and he already has a huge fan base here in Pensacola.”

SRX has eight full-time drivers for the 2022 season—those include Andretti, Labonte, Stewart, Daytona 500 winners Ryan Newman and Michael Waltrip and 2012 Indianapolis 500 winner Ryan Hunter-Reay. Elliott, Kanaan and Ernie Francis Jr. all raced with SRX last season.

“The list of drivers that SRX is bringing is incredible,” Bryant said. “It is an honor for any racetrack to host such legendary drivers. We’ve been working every day to wash, paint and spruce up this 60-year-old racetrack to make a good presentation before a nationally television audience.”

Castrol® Supports Roush Fenway Racing To Power First Carbon Neutral NASCAR Race Team

Roush Fenway will be powered by Castrol as it delivers carbon reduction and offset programs across team's operations both on and off the track

Roush Fenway Racing today announced that the team has become the first carbon neutral NASCAR race team, powered by its official sponsor Castrol. Throughout the 2021 NASCAR season, Castrol will power the Roush Fenway team by supporting Roush Fenway's carbon reduction and offset programs across their operations both on and off the track.

"As an organization, Roush Fenway has always been environmentally conscious," said Roush Fenway President Steve Newmark. "Our hope with this program is to demonstrate that every business, small or large, and regardless of industry, can contribute to address global climate challenges. We hope to set an example and highlight that small steps by many can make a real difference."

Roush Fenway has achieved carbon neutrality for the entire organization including operations, the two race teams and race cars for the period between 1 January 2020 and 31 December 2020, according to the PAS 2060 standard as verified by ERM CVS (independent 3rd party).

The partnership between Roush Fenway and Castrol is designed to help the team better manage its greenhouse gas emissions by tracking, quantifying, and reducing those emissions, and offsetting the balance with high-quality carbon offsets.

"At Castrol, we believe that small steps together can make a difference," said Castrol's Vice President of Marketing Rayne Pacek. "We want to play our part and teaming up with Roush Fenway to achieve their carbon neutral ambitions is a notable milestone in the sport and another step in supporting our partners in their efforts to drive change."

In addition to working with Roush Fenway, Castrol plans to drive change by expanding its carbon neutral product range, reducing the carbon used in its production, and offering a new and expanded range of services – all to give consumers and customers more lower carbon choices.

"It's an honor to pave the way in the sport and bring awareness to the importance of reducing your carbon footprint," said Roush Fenway Driver Ryan Newman. "Every business can make choices to help promote a more sustainable future and this program makes me proud to be part of a team that takes the initiative to drive change."

As part of the program, Newman's traditionally green and red Castrol No 6. Ford Mustang will don an all-white paint scheme featuring a grey Castrol badge and muted logos from partners like Ford Motor Company, Kohler Generators, Oscar Mayer, Coca-Cola, Guaranteed Rate, MacTools, and Wyndham Rewards to show their support of the initiative. This paint scheme will be used at the Daytona Road Course on Sunday, February 21, 2021.

The initiative is part of Castrol's ongoing relationship with Roush Fenway and is another step towards supporting its partners in achieving their lower carbon ambitions. Consumers interested in learning more about Roush Fenway carbon neutral initiative powered by Castrol can visit Castrol.com/DrivingForChange. Visitors can also enter for a chance to win Ryan Newman race-used gear following the Daytona Road Race on February 21, 2021.

NHRA Hall Of Famer Darrell Gwynn Creates National Wheelchair Challenge

NASCAR legends Tony Stewart, Darrell Waltrip and Bill Elliott, current NASCAR superstar Ryan Newman, WWE wrestling champion Bill Goldberg, Kelley Earnhardt, sister of NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt Jr. and co-owner of JR Motorsport, former MillerCoors Chairman Pete Coors, and Bass Pro Shops Founder Johnny Morris are among the high-profile athletes, celebrities, business titans and philanthropists who are spending part of their regular day in a wheelchair as part of the Darrell Gwynn Wheelchair Challenge. The challenge, benefitting the Darrell Gwynn Chapter of The Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis, is the brainchild of Darrell Gwynn, the legendary drag racing champion who was paralyzed in a practice run 30 years ago, as a way to commemorate the 30th anniversary of both his accident and the Americans with Disabilities Act, as well as National Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month in September.

The Wheelchair Challenge asks participants to sit in the “Hot Seat” and experience a day in the life of someone who is wheelchair bound. Each of the first group of nearly two dozen participants has agreed to donate a minimum of $10,000 to the cause, which is an initiative of the Darrell Gwynn Chapter of the Buoniconti Fund, and then challenge family members, friends, colleagues, and business associates to do the same.

All participants will document their experiences on video with the hashtags #DGWheelchairChallenge #StandUpForThoseWhoCant #TheMiamiProject #SCIAwarenessMonth #ADA30, as well as tag the organization hosting the challenge:

“The Wheelchair Challenge is a unique way to honor the 30th Anniversary of the passing of the Americans with Disabilities Act and National Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month, while raising funds to help find a cure for paralysis,” said Darrell Gwynn. “When some of my close friends asked me how to also commemorate the 30th anniversary of my accident, I said to them, “how about sitting in the hot seat...how about spending some time in a wheelchair so that you might get a glimpse of what those of us in wheelchairs deal with day to day, while also providing support so that someday others with spinal cord injuries will be able to get out of their chairs and walk again.

Everyone I asked immediately said, Yes!”

Added Marc Buoniconti, president of the Buoniconti Fund who was, himself, paralyzed in a college football game 35 years ago, “The idea is to convey how it feels to lose, temporarily, a key function nearly everyone takes for granted – mobility and get the public at large to understand the challenges we face on a daily basis. This has been my reality for 35 years and Darrell’s for more than 30 years, and millions of others around the world live it daily. It is our hope that this effort will get people to understand a little bit more about the challenges millions face each day.”

Considered one of the 50 greatest racers of all-time, Darrell Gwynn was a world champion drag racer in the 1980s before his devastating practice run accident resulted in his paralysis. Ironically, Darrell was an early Miami Project supporter, even before his paralyzing injury. He proudly displayed the Miami Project logo on his car and donated a portion of his winnings after each race. In 2015, he formally joined the team and began to focus all his efforts into his role as the Director of the Darrell Gwynn Quality of Life Chapter of the Buoniconti Fund.

The Buoniconti Fund is the fundraising arm of the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis. Based in the Lois Pope LIFE Center at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, the fund was created by the now late Hall of Fame football player Nick Buoniconti after Marc’s accident to raise funds to find a cure and to provide cutting-edge treatments for spinal cord injuries.

About The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis and The Buoniconti Fund: The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis, a Center of Excellence at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, is considered the premier investigative research program conducting cutting edge discovery, translational, and clinical investigations targeting spinal cord and brain injuries. #NASCAR Driver Newman Remains at Halifax Medical Center

#NASCAR Driver Newman Remains at Halifax Medical Center

Prayers for the ‘Rocket Man’

Update: Rocket Man is indestructible!
Update: Ryan is awake and speaking with family and doctors

#NASCAR Driver Newman Remains at Halifax Medical Center

Steve Newmark, president of Roush Fenway Racing just updated an anxious NASCAR Nation about the #6 Koch Industries Ford driver’s (Ryan Newman) medical condition. As you can deduce from the tweet below the update was purposefully generically neutral.

What Happened: After being in contention for much of the late stages of the race, Newman took the lead from Denny Hamlin on the final lap, using a bump draft from Ryan Blaney to put himself in position to win the Daytona 500 for the second time. As Blaney got a run off of Turn Four and attempted a race-winning pass, Newman blocked Blaney's advance, resulting in contact between the two cars. Newman's car slammed into the outside wall, flipping over and then being struck on the driver's side by Corey LaJoie's oncoming car. Hamlin won the race; Newman slid past the start-finish on his sparking hood for a ninth place finish.

Newman had to be cut out of his car before being transported directly to nearby Halifax Medical Center, where he remains today.

Defending Race Winner – Ryan Newman

Defending Race Winner – Ryan Newman
Defending Race Winner – Ryan Newman #NASCAR

ISM Raceway turned out to be Ryan Newman’s ticket to the 2017 playoffs. The veteran is the defending winner of the TicketGuardian 500 and it’s not an isolated triumph in the desert. This is one of his most successful tracks.

Newman will make his 588th Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series start when the Series competes in the fourth event of the 2018 season and the second of three NASCAR Goes West races. In 31 Cup Series events, Newman owns two victories at ISM Raceway. He won last year's March event as well as the spring race in 2010. Newman owns four pole awards, 10 top-five and 12 top-10 finishes. His average start is 13.8 and average finish is 17.2. He's led 219 laps in competition. When it comes to the last 10 events at the raceway, he ranks seventh in most driver points earned.

Defending Race Winner

Ryan won in the Richard Childress Racing No. 31 Chevrolet last year after starting from 22nd-place and leading only the last six laps of the 314-lap race.

Current Standings

After starting 25th and battling a vibration during the early stages of the event, Newman and crew chief Luke Lambert worked together to keep improving the Caterpillar Camaro ZL1 and contended for a top-10 finish before earning 11th place at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The No. 31 team now ranks 14th in the driver championship standings, just 19 markers out of the top 10.

Ryan Newman Quote

How important was last year's win at ISM Raceway?

"For me it was finally getting the monkey off my back so to speak. It seemed like the last three years at RCR we kept building a bigger monkey to get off our backs. To win at Phoenix in the fourth race of the season with two new engineers and other new people on our 31 team, plus so many other people on our team that had never won a Cup race before, was truly an achievement for all of us. It was a relief to finally get that W and I really wanted to contribute to Luke Lambert's (crew chief) first ever Cup victory. I feel like we can keep the momentum going with the new Camaro ZL1. We have shown speed from the get go and I'm looking forward to being in this new Chevrolet for ISM Raceway. I believe we will be even more competitive."

Coca-Cola Refreshes Partnerships with NASCAR & ISC

Coca-Cola Refreshes Partnerships with NASCAR & ISC

Renewed Partnerships Build Upon Coca-Cola’s 50-Year History in NASCAR; Coca-Cola Continues as ‘Official Soft Drink of NASCAR’; Most Poured Soft Drink Across NASCAR-Sanctioned tracks

Coca-Cola Refreshes Partnerships with #NASCAR & ISC

Coca-Cola, International Speedway Corporation (ISC)  and NASCAR today announced an extension to each of its long-standing partnerships through 2023. Coca-Cola, an iconic global brand, will continue its deep-rooted history in the sport by engaging racing fans across NASCAR’s three national series and twelve ISC-operated race tracks.

The first-of-its kind integrated agreement is designed to deliver value to Coca-Cola across both the sanctioning body and ISC properties. Building on a 50-year relationship in the sport, Coca-Cola utilizes an immersive marketing approach to engage fans, customers and employees across virtually every facet of the NASCAR ecosystem. The strategy has resulted in Coca-Cola being one of the most recognized sponsors in the sport (according to the 2017 NASCAR sponsor loyalty survey conducted for SportsBusiness Journal/Daily by Turnkey Sports & Entertainment).

"We’re elated to announce an extension to this winning formula," said Stuart Kronauge, SVP of Marketing & Business Unit President of USA Operations, The Coca-Cola Company. "The association with NASCAR, iconic tracks across the country, the Coca-Cola 600 and the Coca-Cola 400, and the drivers of the Coca-Cola Racing Family creates an ideal relationship between the brands, the sport and fans. It allows for a fully integrated experience that connects Coca-Cola with NASCAR fans at every level – locally, nationally, at the track, in store, at home and elsewhere."

Coca-Cola Refreshes Partnerships with #NASCAR & ISCWhile Coca-Cola has been involved with stock car racing for 50 years, the brand became an Official Partner of NASCAR in 1998. The extended agreement furthers Coca-Cola’s position as the "Official Soft Drink of NASCAR."

Additionally, a signature part of the brand’s marketing strategy is the Coca-Cola Racing Family – a group of top drivers that includes:

The Coca-Cola Racing Family, which has been around for nearly 20 years, makes appearances and is featured in advertising, promotions and packaging.

"Our continued partnership with Coca-Cola is a product of a long history of successful collaboration," said Steve Phelps, EVP and chief global sales and marketing officer, NASCAR. "Partnering with a global company like Coca-Cola puts NASCAR in front of a massive scope of consumers while providing our partners direct engagement with the most brand faithful fan base in sports."

Coca-Cola Refreshes Partnerships with #NASCAR & ISC

The extended relationship with ISC will continue Coca-Cola’s position as the leading soft drink pour across NASCAR-sanctioned tracks. Through partnerships with ISC and Speedway Motorsports, Inc., Coca-Cola will be refreshing fans at 21 race tracks in 2018.

"This renewed relationship highlights how committed Coca-Cola is to engage the most brand loyal fans in sports. Coca-Cola is deeply integrated across our sport, including track pouring rights, race entitlements and relationships with drivers – all adding up to a valued partnership," said Daryl Wolfe, chief sales and partnership officer, NASCAR and ISC. "The company has been a longtime supporter of NASCAR, and we are thrilled to embark on the next expanded phase of our partnership."

A loyal supporter of the U.S. Armed Forces, Coca-Cola honors and recognizes service members at race tracks annually, and in 2017, expanded its support as the presenting sponsor of NASCAR Salutes Refreshed by Coca-Cola. The six-week platform encapsulates the NASCAR industry’s collective expression of respect and gratitude of past and present members of the U.S. Armed Forces. Coca-Cola also partners with NASCAR on Troops to the Track, hosting service members from all military branches at race tracks during the season.

In 2013, Coca-Cola became the first three-time recipient of the prestigious NASCAR Marketing Achievement Award, emblematic of the brand who best utilizes its sponsorship to engage NASCAR fans.

Every Car Has a Story - Ryan Newman's Car Collection

Every Car Has a Story - Ryan Newman's Car Collection As the saying goes, "Everyone has a story," the same holds true for every car Ryan Newman owns. Newman is the proud owner of over 20 classic cars and trucks housed behind his home in the Cedar Shop.

"For me these cars are a whole lot of work, a whole lot of dead batteries, and it takes a whole lot of time, but they are so fun to work on and play with. For me, it’s a combination of fun, a hobby and somewhat of an investment. I’ve only sold one of them and that’s because the guy really wanted it.

1949 BUICK ROADMASTER CONVERTIBLE: This is Newman's most prized collectible and was a 30th birthday gift from Krissie. It is one of four cars used in the making of the 1988 movie, 'Rain Man.' The car was used for audio purposes only and had cameras mounted all over it. Once the movie was completed, the car was professionally restored to its original condition like it had just come off the assembly line. It is rarely driven and used for special occasions like date night.

1949 BUICK ROADMASTER CONVERTIBLE: "It’s the original land yacht. It floats like a boat," – Ryan Newman about his most valuable car

1949 BUICK SUPER: When Newman first laid eyes on this car it was purple. He told the owner he would’ve bought it if it was a different color. Soon after, the owner brought it to Newman painted black and the rest is history. Ironically, the Buick Super along with the Buick Roadmaster were designed by Harley J. Earl. The same man honored by the naming of the Daytona 500 trophy which Newman proudly owns. It has three chrome VentiPorts on each front fender to denote it’s smaller straight-eight engine versus four ports on the Roadmaster. The ports signified their differences after GM shared the same C-body on the cars. It has the original engine in it. The only thing Newman has done is refresh the interior.

1969 CHEVROLET CAMARO: For his 40th birthday, Krissie purchased this Camaro with the help of NASCAR Hall of Famer Ray Evernham. At the time, it was the only classic car Newman wanted to add to his stable. With it now parked in the Cedar Shop, he’s also looking forward to driving a newer model in 2018, the No. 31 Chevrolet Camaro. "To me, I am an old car guy at heart. My Camaro is not a numbers’ matching car and that’s OK with me. I’ll drive it no matter what. It’s a good-looking car," – Ryan Newman about his latest gift from his wife and daughters.

1974 TRIUMPH TR-6: "It’s probably the most memento car I have since it was my grandfather’s afternoon cruiser. It’s certainly not the nicest, but it’s the second-best paint job of all my cars. This car will never rust, and those cars are famous for rusting," – Ryan Newman

1939 HUDSON 2-DOOR SEDAN: Ryan and Krissie used the Hudson on their wedding day. Newman fondly calls it the "get out and escape the party" car. It’s powered by a 350 Chevy engine and is considered rare because it is a two-door Hudson.

1939 HUDSON 2-DOOR SEDAN: "The Hudson will get down the road going whatever speed limit it is and in whatever state you are in. I could tell you how fast I’ve gone in it, but I know better to keep my mouth shut," says a smiling Ryan Newman

1960 CHEVROLET PARKWOOD WAGON: Of all his cars, this is the one his father likes to joke with him about because it’s a ‘grocery-getter’ station wagon. Newman always believed he’d never own a four-door car because it was simply two doors too many. That all changed when he and his daughters attended Ray Evernham’s AmeriCarna LIVE car show to benefit IGNITE.

1960 CHEVROLET PARKWOOD WAGON: "I had my eye on a wagon and then I saw it. The next thing I know, my kids are in it. They are sitting in the seats and honking the horn. It’s turned into our favorite family car. It’s a fun ride to go get ice cream or go looking at animals," - Newman about his family’s wagon.

GENERAL LEE REPLICA: The coolest “dad” car Newman owns and a favorite of his daughters to ride to school in is a Dodge Charger rebuilt to resemble the General Lee from the popular TV show, 'The Dukes of Hazzard.' Under the hood is a big block engine boasting a 440 punched out to 512 cubic inch Mopar with aluminum heads and pistons the size of coffee cans. One of Newman’s favorite stories happened at a Martinsville Speedway test session, "Luke and I drove through Martinsville one night. The entire town was going nuts. We were beeping the horn. They loved it. I don’t drive it for the attention. I drive it because I really, really like it."

953 PLYMOUTH CRANBROOK: This car was sitting in Newman’s driveway the day he won his first Cup race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in 2002. Don Miller, former president of Team Penske, purchased it for Ryan on Saturday of that same race weekend. It has a DeSoto 330 Hemi with three carburetors. It has a Muncie 4-speed in it. Newman says it’s going to have a five-on-the-tree shifter which is why the hood is not on it.

COLLEGE RIDE: For four years while attending Purdue University, Newman drove this 1953 Plymouth Cranbrook. It’s just like the blue one Miller gifted him, but it obviously needs more work. Newman brought it down to North Carolina and started to restore it. He has all the parts to complete it, including a new Hemi engine. All he needs now is the time.

1957 DODGE SUPER D-500: Don Miller is also responsible for this car after finding it in a Hemmings catalog. Back in 2005 or 2006 at Sonoma, Newman, Krissie and Miller drove over three hours to find this car in rough shape parked under a basketball net with the roof caved in. It’s a six-figure car because of how rare it is. The typical D-500 was a pushbutton automatic shifter. This is a three-on-the-tree stick shifter with a 325 Hemi with two four-barrels.

1957 DODGE SUPER D-500: "My uncle in South Bend, Indiana helped restore it. It’s still a work in progress. The interior has been redone to its original upholstery. I have invested the most time and money in this car. It’s supposedly one of eight ever built," – Newman on his rare find.

1966 CHEVROLET c10: Newman’s dad saw this at the Daytona Turkey Rod Run. It has a Turbo 350 transmission. The coolest thing about the truck was that Greg delivered it to him on his birthday. According to Newman, "It’s a farm truck. It’s not perfect. It’s got rust and a gun rack in the back. I call it a beater even though it’s not. I like it just the way it is."

SANFORD AND SON REPLICA 1949 FORD F-150: Newman always wanted a Ford F-150 and liked the television show, so he purchased his replica on eBay from an owner in Council Bluffs, Iowa. It cost $1,875 and it included all the junk in the truck. This is by far the cheapest truck he owns and says it’s a great conversation piece.

1949 FORD F-150: "What most people don’t know is Krissie bought me this 1949 Ford F-150 for my birthday at the same time I bought the Sanford and Son replica pickup. I ended up getting two Ford F-150s for my birthday," – Newman on ruining Krissie’s surprise.

1949 JAGUAR XK120: Newman bought this car as a birthday present for Krissie the same year his wife tried to surprise him with the 1949 Ford-150. Her Jaguar is fondly known as Olive Oil. By the way, that 1949 pickup has the license plate, Popeye.

1940 CHEVROLET PICKUP TRUCK: "This is a truck my buddy gave me. I wanted to buy it from him, but he refused by saying, ‘I’ve worked my tail off all my life and if I want to give you something. I will.' I hid it down behind the coach lot at Bristol and towed it home after the race," – Ryan Newman

1940 CHEVROLET PICKUP TRUCK: "It’s not perfect. I love to have it as an old farm truck. I did try to polish it up. I did one spot and said the hell with it. That’s a lot of work!" – Ryan Newman

1928 FORD ROADSTER: Greg found this at an Auburn, Indiana car show. It’s the first and only hot rod Newman's ever owned. It has a flathead engine and it’s all steel. Newman wishes he could drive it more, but it’s difficult now with the kids. It has a rumble seat, but no seat belts so it’s a no go for Brooklyn and Ashlyn.

1925 CHEVROLET: The entire interior is gone in this oldie but goodie. Newman wants to replace all the upholstery and get it running since it would make a cool car to go and get ice cream. What impresses him the most is the technology back in 1925 since the oil pump runs out the back of the generator which also powers the distributor.

1936 FORD 3 WINDOW COUPE: Characterized by two side windows and a backlight, Newman owns two of these cars. This one is currently being restored and will not be stock. It’s got a 350 Chevy engine. He says it’s been a lengthy process. For some reason, he hasn’t found the time to finish it. Go figure?

1936 Ford 3 WINDOW COUPE: This is like the one Newman is trying to rebuild except this is all stock and features a flathead engine. Newman considers it an out-and-about cruiser and enjoys taking it to run errands.

1957 CHEVROLET ONE-FIFTY HANDYMAN WAGON: Newman doesn’t know the exact numbers of how many were produced but he considers this wagon somewhat rare. It’s the more economy model which is why he really likes it. It’s pretty much stock and boasts a 350 Chevy engine that’s from 1964 and is a Muncie 4-speed. Needless to say, it has no problems getting down the road in a timely manner.

1949 WILLYS-OVERLAND JEEPSTER: Last year this was Krissie's Christmas present from Ryan. The same man that sold the purple to black 1949 Buick Super and the 1943 Plymouth wagon to Newman also had this Jeepster. It’s in the process of being redone but it’s a great summer vehicle that Krissie can cruise with the top down back and forth to the Rescue Ranch.
