Logano, Byron Win NASCAR's Daytona 500 Qualifying Races

The victory in the first 150-mile race last night earned Team Penske Driver Joey Logano a spot in the second row for the season-opening Daytona 500. Logano took the green flag from sixth on the grid in his #22 Ford.

It feels so good. I mean, obviously it's the Duels, not the Daytona 500, but momentum is momentum. Just T.J. does such a great job up on the roof and understanding the draft, and then working with this new group here, they're not new to working together but I'm new with them, and it's been a good partnership so far. Been pretty seamless and working out some of the kinks last week and being able to come to Victory Lane here in Daytona. Winning anything in Daytona is such a big deal, so just ready to go for the 500.

Just can't thank Ford enough. Aric Almirola, can't thank him enough. Boy, what a great push that he has given me throughout the run and a great partner out there to work with. It was awesome.

So excited that NASCAR is partnering with Coca-Cola and Xfinity, man. It's just such a great spot for our sport right now, so I'm excited to be a part of it and excited to run for a championship this year. (Joey Logano Winner of Race 1)

William Byron will join Logano in the second row, behind pole-sitter Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and teammate Alex Bowman, who earned the front row in time trials at Daytona International Speedway. Hendrick’s Motorsports’ driver Byron started his race from fourth on the grid in his #24 Chevrolet.

Yeah, we're going to use this momentum as it should be. I feel like we didn't luck into this. We've built something over the last year working with Chad (Knaus). He's allowed me to grow up a lot. I think he's held me accountable for a lot of things that are really good.

I just feel comfortable walking into the shop. I think that took me really till this year, this off-season, to walk in and just feel like a racecar driver and comfortable. That's a lot of credit to him and Tyler, Brandon, all the guys on the team.

Yeah, we just went out there and raced. That's what he told me to do before the race. He said, Race it, (William Byron – Winner of Race 2)
