Custer & Cindric Finish 1-2 For Ford Performance
Burnout after the No.00 of Cole Custer finished on top in the #NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Richmond.

Ford teammates Cole Custer and Austin Cindric battled for their first short track win Friday night in Richmond, VA. But it was the No.00 of Cole Custer that finished top of the class, winning his second race of the 2019 NASCAR Xfinity Series while Cindric finished second.

“It is a great race for us,” said Custer in Victory Lane. “Our first short track win and second win of the year. It means a ton.”

“Congratulations to Cole, Tony, and Gene,” said Doug Yates, President and CEO of Roush Yates Engines. “It was great to see two young Ford Performance drivers battling it out tonight. It means so much to these guys to win and make a mark for themselves. We, at Roush Yates Engines, are just blessed to be part of that winning formula with Ford Performance tonight.”

After losing the lead to Austin Cindric on a restart with 26 laps left, Custer regained the top spot on Lap 231 of 250 and pulled away for his second victory of the season. In a race that dodged a persistent threat of rain, Custer crossed the finish line 2.639 seconds ahead of Cindric.

Not only did Custer win for the fourth time in his career—and for the first time on a short track—but he also claimed the $100,000 Xfinity Dash 4 Cash bonus that goes to the highest finisher of four eligible contenders.

“We had a great car,” Custer said. “(Crew chief Mike Shiplett) made great adjustments as it went… This one means a lot. We hadn’t had a short-track win yet. We’ve struggled a lot at short tracks, but this helps

“A lot of my friends give me crap for being bad at this place, but I finally won, so I’ve got a little bit of bragging rights there, so that’s night. I’m just so happy. Two wins—that’s pretty awesome.”

Saturday night’s victory in the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond Raceway was a first for Martin Truex Jr.—and more of the same for Joe Gibbs Racing.

Truex won his first Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race on a short track in his 81st try and in the process picked up his first victory with Joe Gibbs Racing since moving from now-defunct Furniture Row Racing between seasons.

At the same time, Truex gave JGR its third straight victory in NASCAR’s top series and sixth in nine races this season. Joey Logano finished .178 seconds behind the race winner, as Gibbs and Team Penske maintained their stranglehold on the premier division. Penske drivers Logano and Brad Keselowski triumphed in the three races JGR hasn’t won.

“It means a lot to break through, especially here at Richmond,” said Truex, who won for the first time this season and the 20th time in his career. “I’ve always really enjoyed this track. I’ve always loved coming here. The short track win–everybody kept asking me when it was going to happen.

Michael Self (No. 25 Sinclair Lubricants Toyota) scored his second consecutive ARCA Menards Series victory in Sunday’s rain-shortened Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200 at Salem Speedway. Self started fourth, took the lead at lap 27 and from there he dominated until Mother Nature intervened at lap 98.

“I owe all of this to my Venturini Motorsports guys,” Self said in a makeshift victory celebration. “We knew yesterday we were going to have a good racecar. We didn’t have a lot of qualifying speed but we knew once the race started, especially if it was cool and cloudy, that we’d be good.”

Mastercam And Roush Yates Engines Renew Partnership

Roush Yates Engines announced a multi-year partnership extension agreement with CNC Software, Inc. for Mastercam to continue as the official CAD/CAM software of Roush Yates Engines and Roush Yates Manufacturing Solutions. After starting the partnership in 2015, this extension will partner these two innovative companies together until 2025.

Mastercam, an industry leader for more than 35 years in CAD/CAM software, delivers CNC programing solutions in 75 countries around the world. Their strategy of combining superior software programming with continuous development and support makes their product the best in the industry.

This is why Roush Yates Engines selected Mastercam as their CAD/CAM software to program more than 50 CNC machines in a newly renovated, climate controlled, 88,000 square foot facility in Mooresville, North Carolina.

“With a shared commitment of quality and objective to deliver the best products to our engine programs, partnering with Mastercam ensures us a continued level of excellence,” said Mitch Miller, General Manager, Roush Yates Manufacturing Solutions. “Their software and continued collaboration are vital to our success on the race track and we look forward to expanding this valued partnership into the future.”

Mastercam software is invaluable to the production of more than 40% of the engine components that power the Ford NASCAR FR9 EFI and IMSA Ford EcoBoost race engines. Thousands of components are milled and drilled with the use of Mastercam software programming. It is critical that these parts meet the tightest of tolerances to support our engine designs and development process.

To deliver the best on the race track and compete globally, you need to partner with the best. That’s why Roush Yates Engines and Roush Yates Manufacturing Solutions partner with Mastercam.

Stas Mylek, Partnership Program Manager at CNC Software, Inc., says “We are privileged to have Roush Yates Engines as a valued partner for the next five years. They not only push their engines but have been instrumental in driving Mastercam to new levels of performance through the ongoing collaboration between the two companies. It’s exciting to witness the significant growth in their shop, the product and services they provide, and their use of Mastercam.”

Chase Elliott - Spring Forward

Chase Elliott - Spring Forward

It's almost Spring Break time for #NASCAR  drivers as the first off-week of the season is around the corner.

It was a frustrating day for pole winner Chase Elliott as the Hendrick Motorsports driver lost the power steering in his No. 9 Chevrolet barely 20 laps into the race, then was involved in an incident just shy of the halfway point of the 500-lap race. He finished eleventh and on the lead lap.

Regardless, Chase heads into this weekend's Richmond race fresh off his first pole at Bristol. He currently sits tenth in the driver standings as the top Hendrick Motorsports and second-best Chevrolet driver.

Chase started and finished 2nd at the spring Richmond race last year.

From NASCAR to Air Filters

Blake Koch Partners with Dale Jr.

From #NASCAR to Air Filters - Blake Koch Partners with Dale Jr.

“After completing two of my best years as a NASCAR driver, I decided to take something that was just an idea at the time and turn it into a reality. I wanted to offer people an air-filter subscription service, FilterTime™.” Blake Koch stated

Blake started FilterTime®, a subscription service via the web that allows you to choose your air filter and how often you want it delivered – without ever having to go through the hassle again.

“It was a super-simple idea and I decided to keep it a super-simple process.” Koch added.

The Partnership

Blake’s next step was finding a partner that could get FilterTime™ in front of as many people as possible and thereby help with the marketing and branding.

“There was only one person I had in mind that could help take FilterTime™ where I wanted it to go. I have always thought Dale Earnhardt Jr. was the best at branding and marketing. The resources he has with Dirty Mo Media and JR Motorsports, and his desire to win at everything he does, made him the partner I wanted.” Blake elucidated.

After sitting down with Dale, explaining FilterTime™ and the vision and passion he had for it, Blake and Dale Jr. became partners.

“I am more than just a personal service agreement here. This is not a sponsorship. This is a true partnership where I am invested in the company and believe in your idea and in your passion. Dale Jr. detailed. This is going to be exciting . . . . . it is going to be a real convenient for a lot of people.”

“I couldn’t be more excited to be partners with Dale and provide America’s homeowners a way to check air filters off their to-do list for good.” Blake Koch.
