Let Natural Light Turn Your Resume Into A NASCAR Paint Scheme

Let Natural Light Turn Your Resume Into A NASCAR Paint Scheme

Natural Light Paints Your Resume All Over a Racecar to Give It Epic Exposure at Upcoming Race

Let Natural Light Turn Your Resume Into A NASCAR Paint Scheme

This Fall, during prime recruiting season, Natural Light is hooking it up for one lucky graduate that’s deep in the job search. The beer brand is turning your hard-earned qualifications into an epic paint scheme to appear on Chris Buescher’s #37 racecar at the South Point 400 in Las Vegas.

You worked hard in college and the struggle is real for graduates across America as you begin the hunt for a full-time job. Employers can receive over 80 entry-level resumes in a single month*, so now more than ever, job-seekers need to make themselves stand out.

Natural Light wants their drinkers to remember college for the good times, not the stress. Earlier this year the brand gave away $40,000 to 25 winners each for college debt relief, and now they’re helping one more drinker by helping them land their dream job. What better way to get your resume at the top of the pile than slap it on a NASCAR paint scheme during a nationally televised race? Your inbox and voicemail are guaranteed to be full after catching the eye of millions of recruiters while racing 200 mph around the track.

Natural Light and Censuswide surveyed 1,000 employers across America and 4-in-5 agreed applicants need to find new ways to stand out when applying for jobs*. Natty is here to help, and will put one lucky winner’s resume on the hood of a race car to help them get noticed by employers nationwide.

To be considered for the paint scheme, any person over the age of 21 can:
  • - Send their resume to NattyRaceResume@naturallight.com
  • - Entries are open between July 30–August 6.

The chosen resume will be announced, and the paint scheme will be revealed on September 10, 2018 ahead of the South Point 400 on September 14-16.

Selected by Natural Light, the resume will be plastered all over Buescher’s #37 car and include the person’s head shot, qualifications, skills, contact information…and anything else they think sets them apart!

“Between the cut-throat job market and the crippling college debt that continues to grow in America, there’s never been more pressure for our drinkers when entering the real world. So, we decided this paint scheme should be an opportunity for a recent grad to stand out in the stack of resumes,” said Daniel Blake, Senior Director of Value Brands at Anheuser-Busch.

MDM Motorsports in Charge of General Tire Superspeedway Challenge Headed to Pocono

MDM Motorsports in Charge of General Tire Superspeedway Challenge Headed to Pocono
The ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards General Tire Superspeedway Challenge heads to Pocono Raceway for this Friday's ModSpace 150, and Matthew Miller's No. 28 United Rentals Toyota team has a comfortable lead with just two superspeedway events yet to be contested.

MDM Motorsports in Charge of General Tire Superspeedway Challenge Headed to Pocono

NASCAR Hall of Fame inductee Davey Allison won the inaugural General Tire Superspeedway Challenge in 1984. The series within the overall series recognizes achievement exclusively on superspeedways, defined as any paved track one mile in length or longer. Since many teams race with multiple drivers throughout the superspeedway portion of the schedule, ARCA awards the GTSSC championship to the owner that accrues the most points.

There are nine superspeedway events on the schedule in 2018, with two races remaining including Friday's ModSpace 150. In 2016, a new twist was added that awards double points at all superspeedway events when General Tire is the race entitlement or presenting sponsor. In 2018, those races included Daytona, Talladega, Charlotte, and the June event at Pocono.

Alpine, California driver Sheldon Creed has carried Miller to a 250-point advantage into the Pocono race. If the team, led by veteran crew chief Jeff Stankiewicz, leaves Pocono with a lead greater than 240 points, they will have clinched the title with only the final GTSSC event at Kansas Speedway to be run. Creed has two superspeedway wins in 2018, the first at the two-mile Michigan International Speedway and the second at the demanding 1.25-mile Gateway Motorsports Park outside of St. Louis. Creed scored top-five finishes in all four double-points events sponsored by General Tire, which helped build his points lead.

Bill Venturini's No. 15 Venturini Motorsports Toyota team is second in the GTSSC standings. Michael Self has five starts in that car, all on superspeedways, with two victories at Daytona and Chicagoland, while Christian Eckes has made two superspeedway starts. Self had a 21st-place finish at Charlotte, one of the double-points events, which dropped the No. 15 team back significantly in the standings.

Coy Gibbs, owner of the No. 18 NOS Energy/ORCA Coolers Toyota driven by Riley Herbst is third, Doug Fuller, owner of the No. 41 LaPaz Maragarita Mix/ICON Vehicle Dynamics Toyota driven by Zane Smith, and Don Fike, owner of the No. 27 MatrixCare/Consonus Healthcare/Liberty Village Ford driven by Travis Braden, round out the top five.

The ModSpace 150 at Pocono Raceway is scheduled for Friday, July 27. ARCA Racing Series teams will practice for 90 minutes starting at 9 am ET; General Tire Pole Qualifying is slated for 1 pm ET, and the 60-lap/150-mile race will go green shortly after 4 pm ET. Fox Sports 1 will televise the race live; ARCARacing.com will have live timing, scoring, and track updates throughout each on-track session for registered users.

Annual K&N Pro Series East-West Event In Iowa

Derek Kraus
Derek Kraus will lead the charge as Bill McAnally Racing goes for a fifth consecutive win in the annual NASCAR K&N Pro Series East-West combination race at Iowa Speedway on Friday.

Teams from across the country will travel to the 7/8-mile track in Newton, Iowa for the Casey’s General Stores 150.

Todd Gilliland won the prestigious race for BMR in 2016 and 2017 – his two full seasons in the K&N West, in which he won back-to-back championships. Brandon McReynolds swept two combination events for BMR in 2015, the last year in which Iowa Speedway hosted two East-West races in a season. He was the first driver with multiple wins in the event.

Kraus, who took over BMR’s No. 16 NAPA AUTO PARTS Toyota Camry after Gilliland graduated to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series this year, returns to Iowa after winning the pole and finishing 11th in last season’s East-West race.

The 16-year-old NASCAR Next driver from Stratford, Wisconsin is currently third in the K&N West championship standings – with two wins, five top-five, and six top-10 finishes in seven starts this year. He won the most recent K&N West race – at Douglas County Speedway in Roseburg, Oregon last month. This past weekend, in his first visit to New Hampshire Motor Speedway, he set a track record in winning the pole and had a fifth-place finish in K&N East action.

Cole Rouse #NASCAR #KNWest
Cole Rouse
Cole Rouse – a 21-year-old from Fort Smith, Arkansas – returns to Iowa Speedway, where he finished 12th in the combination race in his rookie season in 2016.

Rouse is fourth in the championship standings, as he competes in his first season with BMR; driving the No. 99 NAPA Filters Toyota Camry. He has three top-five and six top-10 finishes in K&N West action this year – including a sixth-place finish at Roseburg. He finished 10th in the K&N East race at New Hampshire.

Hailie Deegan #NASCAR #KNWest
Hailie Deegan
Seventeen-year-old series rookie Hailie Deegan of Temecula, California will be competing in her first combination race at Iowa. A member of the NASCAR Next program that spotlights NASCAR’s rising stars, Deegan drives BMR’s No. 19 Mobil 1 / NAPA Power Premium Plus Toyota Camry.

She leads in rookie points for the K&N West and is fifth in the overall championship standings – with three top-five and seven top-10 finishes. She had a career-best second-place finish at Roseburg and was 16th at New Hampshire.

A special VIP experience is planned for a group of NAPA guests at Iowa Speedway on Friday. Their visit, coordinated by Sales Manager Randy Judge of NAPA’s Des Moines Distribution Center, will take them behind-the-scenes with a tour of the NASCAR garage and a special meet-and-greet with BMR’s drivers. The guests will also have the opportunity to be present at the drivers meeting and attend the driver introductions.

Activities off the track continue after the race, with the NAPA AUTO PARTS Concert Series at Iowa Speedway featuring a performance by Dylan Scott.

The BMR drivers are slated to go on stage during the event.

This marks the fourth straight year for the NAPA Auto Parts Concert Series to be featured at the speedway.

The East-West combination race from Iowa is scheduled to be televised on NBCSN on Aug. 2 at 3 p.m. PT.

Iowa Speedway and Casey’s General Stores are collaborating to donate to the American Red Cross Greater Iowa Chapter to help in the recovery efforts in Bondurant, Pella and Marshalltown, Iowa after tornadoes ripped through the area last week.

Fans attending this weekend’s races are encouraged to make contributions at the Casey’s General Store concession stand on the Concourse. Iowans are also encouraged to contribute at participating Casey’s General Stores.

The tornadoes dealt the most damage when they tore through downtown Marshalltown, Bondurant and struck the Vermeer Corp. campus in Pella. But reports of tornadoes came in from as far north as Clarion and as far south as Ottumwa in a span of nearly three hours.

Iowa Speedway Cares, the Speedway’s charitable arm, has donated $1,000 to the American Red Cross Greater Iowa Chapter. Iowa Speedway Cares is a Donor Advised Fund of the NASCAR Foundation, a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization based in Daytona Beach, FL. The primary focus of Iowa Speedway Cares is to support the local community, with an emphasis on youth-centered programs.

At-track contributions will be collected at the Casey’s General Store concession stand near the Newton Club when the Concourse opens. Concourse opening times are 1:30 p.m. CT on Friday and noon CT on Saturday.

“Many homes and lives were devastated by the tornadoes and our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected,” said Iowa Speedway President David Hyatt. “But with thousands of people still in need, we’re anxious to return central Iowa to a sense of normalcy by enlisting the help of our loyal fans.

“We salute the dedication of those who have been working so hard on the rescue, relief and recovery effort.”

Earlier this month, Iowa Speedway fans donated more than 3,600 pounds of non-perishable food to help The Food Bank of Iowa in assisting those affected by recent flooding in Des Moines and the surrounding area.

Back by popular demand, Pocono Raceway will host a ‘Selfie Session’ with Joe Gibbs Racing driver Daniel SuΓ‘rez on Saturday, July 28. Fans interested in attending were invited to pre-register for this driver appearance, which replaces a traditional autograph session. It 'sold out' quickly.

The Raceway hosted the first-ever ‘Selfie Session’ with a NASCAR driver during a race weekend, which featured Hendrick Motorsports’ Alex Bowman, this June. Race fans pre-registered and filled all spots to attend within 90 minutes of the event’s announcement.

The ‘Selfie Session’ with SuΓ‘rez was open to the first 50 people to pre-register and will be held inside the Pocono Raceway Paddock area. Each pre-registered fan, along with up to three of their guests, will have the chance to take a group or solo selfie with the Joe Gibbs Racing driver. There is no cost for the session itself, but all pre-registered fans and their guests are required to have a Saturday Gate Admission Ticket and Pit/Paddock Pass, due to the soon-to-be-announce event location. Each group will have the opportunity for one selfie and no autographs will be allowed, due to timing constraints.

The last 10 laps of the race turned into the epic battle of the Titians. The No. 4 Ford Fusion, powered by the Ford FR9 EFI engine, drove the most meticulous laps of the race. With the No. 18 Toyota in the lead, Harvick consistently narrowed the gap lap-by-lap, until lap 294. “Winning is important and you’ve got to try to take every opportunity you can," commented Harvick in Victory Lane. “I felt like my car was better. He was in the lane that I needed to be in and as you get to the end, …., you’ve got to be aggressive and do what you’ve got to do sometimes to win these races. It’s one of those deals and we want to win. Points are everything and getting a “W” is what it’s all about.”

This marked Harvick’s 43rd career win and first time in his career to win six races in a season.

Chase Briscoe Is Having A Great Month

NASCAR Xfinity Series

On June 30th, in his first NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) start at Chicagoland Speedway, Chase Briscoe drove his Nutri Chomps Ford to a ninth-place finish scoring his first career NXS top-10 finish Saturday afternoon. Briscoe has competed in eight of the seventeen 2018 Xfinity races in the books.

“We really weren’t great at the beginning of the race,” Briscoe said. “We had a little track position in the beginning of the second stage. The yellow came out and everybody pitted and we decided to stay out because we knew we weren’t going to win the race as it was so we felt like we needed to do something. We were pretty good with 15 lap older tires and held our own and at the end it felt like we were a top-three car. We just didn’t have track position. I am proud of the guys. It was a hot weekend and to continue to work this hard and fight this hard all weekend long shows how hard these guys work.”

When the caution flag waved on lap 114, crew chief Mike Kelley made a strategy call to stay out to gain track position and save a set of tires for later in the 200-lap race. Briscoe led the field to green but gradually fell to cars with fresher tires.

The Nutri Chomps Ford was really strong on the long runs allowing Briscoe to work his way just outside the top-10 before green flag pit-stops. After making his final pit-stop, Briscoe was running similar lap times as the leader with 20 laps remaining. The rookie was able to pick up four positions in the closing lap to earn his first career NXS top-10 finish.

MOWA Winged Sprint

Chase Briscoe prevailed in winning the MOWA Winged Sprint feature.
On July 14th, Chase Briscoe “mopped up” the competition after a 2 1/2 hour rain delay at Tri-State Speedway. The rains and lightning came at the scheduled start time in Haubstadt (6pm), but the skies cleared up and racing was not going to be denied at the 1/4 mile dirt track.

Briscoe prevailed in winning the MOWA Winged Sprint feature. The Mitchell, IN, driver finished ahead of Cory Bruns and Carson Short. Critter Malone was fourth and Justin Peck was next to round out the top five. The 3 MOWA heat races were victories for Carson Short, Kody Kinser, and Chase Briscoe.

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series

Last night, on a rare Wednesday Night Truck Race on the dirt track of Eldora, Chase Briscoe won again.

With dirt slinging, doors banging and the checkered flag waving, Chase Briscoe edged ThorSport Racing teammate Grant Enfinger to earn his second career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) victory in the sixth annual race at the historic Eldora Speedway.

In a one-off race with ThorSport, Briscoe, on newer tires, took advantage of a Lap 145 restart to pass leader and Toyota Racing Development protΓ©gΓ© Logan Seavey, but the event’s final caution within three laps of the finish set the tone for the exciting finish in NASCAR overtime.

For Briscoe, a Ford Performance development driver, it was his second straight win after earning his first career victory last November in the Truck Series season finale at Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway with Brad Keselowski Racing.

"I know (Enfinger) is running for a championship and he's our teammate," said Briscoe. "I wasn’t going to wear him out. I wasn't going to just wreck him for the win. We rubbed, and I definitely let it float on the way to the wall and I'm sorry for that, it's not how I race. "I'm so thankful that Ford allowed me to do this race. I was begging them about three weeks ago to let me do it and it came together at the last minute. It's awesome to be in Victory Lane."
