The NASCAR Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum was held last night, at 8:00 PM EST, due to the California weather, an unprecedented weather.

Denny Hamlin held off Kyle Busch (2nd), Ryan Blaney (3rd) and the rest of the field on a two-lap shootout, following a late caution that was brought out by Ty Gibbs (18th) spinning.

Gibbs had been leading the race until he got shuffled on the previous restart with just under 10 to go, which is when Hamlin took the lead.

“It’s a great momentum boost. It doesn’t do much more than that. But I clean off all the trophies every January 1st in the entryway of the house, and now we get to add one pretty quick, so really happy about that.” Denny Hamlin

Hamlin led 58 of the 151 laps, second-most only behind Gibbs' 84. Hamlin started on the pole but slid back for much of the going, and in the closing stages, it seemed like the fight for the win was going to be between Gibbs and the hard-charging Joey Logano (4th).

It's Hamlin's fourth-career Clash win, but the prior three were all when the race was still run at Daytona. That's where NASCAR will be the next time the cars hit the track, with the Daytona 500 set to run on Feb. 18 following a weekend off.
