Update 2:  Due to rain shortened event – the 2024 Busch Light Clash at The Coliseum line up as follows: 

The fastest 22 times in final practice (5:35 p.m. ET) will make the main event due to the heat races and Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ) being canceled. The 23rd and final position in the grid is reserved for the driver who finished highest in the 2023 season points standings and did not transfer on speed in practice.

 

Update:  2024 Busch Light Clash at The Coliseum shifts to tonight (8 p.m. ET, FS1); Mexico Series race to follow  

NASCAR officials said in a statement: “Due to the threat of unprecedented severe weather on Sunday, the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Mexico Series race events for the Clash have been moved to Saturday night. Thanks to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum and Los Angeles Public Safety for their partnership and support to make the schedule adjustment for tonight’s event to ensure a safe experience for fans, competitors, and staff. We understand weather conditions may worsen as the day progresses, so we encourage fans to make decisions in the best interest of safety. We appreciate our fans, partners, and everyone associated with this event on this unprecedented event.”

NASCAR is Back for the 2024 Season - The Clash

 

NASCAR is back! For a NASCAR nut as myself, it could not come soon enough.

 

The 2024 NASCAR Cup Series and Mexico Series drivers are scheduled at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum today as the season's first racing weekend begins with the Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum exhibition race.

 

NASCAR Mexico Series teams and drivers will take part in practice and qualifying on Saturday. The Cup Series drivers will compete in the practice session, followed by four heat races that will set the starting lineup for the Clash.

 





Saturday Schedule

 

Garage open

 

  • 12 pm ET – 7:30 pm ET: Mexico Series
  • 12 pm ET – 11:30 pm ET: Cup Series

 

Track activity

 

  • 1:15 pm ET – 2 pm ET: Mexico Series practice one
  • 2:45 pm ET – 3:30 pm ET: Mexico Series practice two
  • 4:30 pm ET – 5:20 pm ET: Mexico Series qualifying
  • 6:10 pm ET – 8 pm ET: Cup Series practice and qualifying
  • 8:30 pm ET: Cup Series heat race one (25 laps)
  • 8:45 pm ET: Cup Series heat race two (25 laps)
  • 9 pm ET: Cup Series heat race three (25 laps)
  • 9:15 pm ET: Cup Series heat race four (25 laps)

 

The Saturday track activities at LA Coliseum will be broadcast on FS1, Motor Racing Network, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
