Michael Annett to Retire from Full-time Competition after 2021 Season

With a career spanning 16 years in the top tiers of NASCAR competition and over 90,000 laps turned, Michael Annett announced today his retirement from full-time driving duties at the conclusion of the 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series season.

“I’m just so grateful for the opportunities I’ve had,” the 35-year-old Annett said. “Being able to drive racecars for a living is honestly a dream come true for me. It’s been a privilege to work with some great teams and alongside some of the most talented folks in the garage. None of this would have been possible without the support of my partners, and I am happy to call them life-long friends. It’s those relationships and friendships that are the most rewarding.”

Annett, a native of Des Moines, Iowa, has been a staple in NASCAR with the familiar colors of Pilot Flying J, TMC Transportation, Allstate Peterbilt Group, WEX EFS and others sponsoring his entries over the years. He competed in his first full-time season in 2009 and has made more than 430 starts across NASCAR’s top three series.

Alfredo Brings CITGARD Back to Front Row Motorsports at Charlotte ROVAL

Alfredo Brings CITGARD Back to Front Row Motorsports at Charlotte ROVAL

Takes Momentum from First Top-10

Anthony Alfredo is coming off his best NASCAR Cup Series finish with a top-10 result at the Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway on Monday. He now brings that momentum with him into the Charlotte Roval for this Sunday's race.

Alfredo will also bring back the CITGARD brand and colors to the No. 38 Ford Mustang. CITGARD continues its partnership with Front Row Motorsports that began in 2019.

CITGARD, a member of the CITGO Petroleum Corporation, heavy duty engine oils are next generation oils formulated with proprietary additive technology that protects engines from running at higher temperatures and fuel injection pressures, while meeting tighter wear limits and lower emission requirements.

The red and white scheme has always been a fan favorite. Alfredo wants to have the CITGARD No. 38 up front on Sunday.

"Our team has a lot of confidence right now," said Alfredo. "One good finish can lead to another, and another, and you can really build on that. We'll be starting closer to the front this weekend that's going to help at the Roval. It's a challenging track, so you need every advantage- especially since this will be by first laps racing there.

"I'm not worried about going into the Roval with no laps," continued Alfredo. "We've been in that position before. It will take a few laps to settle in, but we've been doing a lot of simulation work. Again, we're feeling pretty good right now, have a great car with CITGARD on it again, and I think we'll surprise some people on Sunday. I can't wait for this weekend."

#NASCAR - Chase Elliott Goes for Three

House of Hendrick:

Hendrick Motorsports drivers have won four of the six NASCAR Cup Series road course races so far this season. Chase Elliott bagged wins at Circuit of The Americas and Road America, while Kyle Larson triumphed at Sonoma and Watkins Glen. If either driver falters on Sunday, Alex Bowman (6.0 average finish) and William Byron (one pole, two top-10s) know their ways around the ROVAL™ enough to continue Hendrick’s road-racing success in their backyard.

Chase Goes for Three:

If all goes well on Sunday, Chase Elliott can do what Junior Johnson, Fred Lorenzen, Bobby Allison and Jimmie Johnson couldn’t: win Charlotte Motor Speedway’s fall NASCAR Cup Series race three years in a row. Elliott is in a five-way tie for most consecutive fall race wins at Charlotte, but the defending series champion already has reason to believe Sunday could be the day he makes history: he’s already won twice on road courses this season.
