A pair of wild celebrations kicked off moments after the checkered flag fell on Thursday's Bad Boy Off Road Southern Slam 150 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, as Ryan Preece stormed to his third career NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour win and Burt Myers clinched his second series championship.

Preece passed George Brunnhoelzl III on the outside and pulled away to win the 150-lap race by 0.945 seconds. Brunnhoelzl finished second with James Civali third, Danny Bohn fourth and Bobby Measmer Jr. fifth.

Myers finished sixth to cap off his first title season since 2010. Two-time defending series champion Andy Seuss was seventh with Kyle Bonsignore eighth, Jason Myers ninth and Trey Hutchens III 10th.

In other Bojangles' Pole Night action, Katelyn Sweet - the girlfriend of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Kyle Larson - captured the sixth annual Better Half Dash presented by Nature Made, a Bandolero battle among NASCAR's fastest females to support breast cancer awareness and raise money for charity.

Sweet held off Brad Keselowski's girlfriend Paige White and Ty Dillon's wife Haley Dillon to win the 25-lap race, which raised more than $70,000 for charities including Motor Racing Outreach and Speedway Children's Charities.

"This was so much fun. We had a great time and raised a lot of money," Sweet said. "We did this for BC (the late Bryan Clauson). He was here last year and his fiancée was here today. It means so much to me that we can support breast cancer awareness and give back to them for helping me out on my car. This is just awesome."

Bad Boy Off Road Southern Slam 150 Winner - Ryan Preece (No. 77 Curb Records Chevrolet): "We had a really good race car. We have had a lot of heartbreakers here. When that caution came out with 15 to go, I thought to myself, 'I hope I saved enough here.' This car seemed like it liked longer runs. It took two or three laps to fire off but that's what my buddy Gary Putnam (car owner) is good for, making the car last. He definitely did that tonight. Georgie (Brunnhoelzl) had a really good car. The thing about winning here is starting up front and pretty much controlling the lead. I think we just had a little more forward drive at the end. I don't think he expected me to pass on the outside. I'm just really happy to be here in victory lane."

NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour Champion - Burt Myers (No. 1 Remington SCT/Speedway Auto/Citrusafe Ford): "There is something about this Whelen Southern Modified Tour championship that's just a notch above the rest. When you get presented with that ring, it's just a special feeling. Even though we knew we basically had to just start the race, it still feels just as good as having to win the race to get here. We had a great car tonight. I'm a little disappointed in our performance. We didn't get to show what kind of car we had. But it would be silly of me to complain when we're sitting here celebrating a championship. God blessed me with a talent and I'm just trying to use it to the best of my ability."
