"It's just overwhelming," a tearful Truex said in Victory Lane. "To think about all the rough days and bad days, the days that we couldn't run 20th, to be here. I never thought this day would come, and to be here is so unbelievable."
Once the team returned to Denver, Mayor Michael B. Hancock read a proclamation proclaiming Furniture Row Racing Day in the Mile High City, the home base for the racing team. Truex presented Mayor Hancock with a Furniture Row Racing crew shirt.
