With a new racing season approaching fast ahead as the countdown to Daytona continues, comes new chapters to be written both on and off the race track.
For Jordan Anderson as he prepares to enter his fourth full time year in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, a new journey is already well underway.
The 26 year old Anderson from Columbia, SC announced Wednesday at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte that he has formed his own team under the Jordan Anderson Racing banner, with intentions of competing full time in the Truck Series for 2018 and beyond.
Along with the announcement, the team unveiled the white and blue #3 truck, and paint scheme that they will make their debut with on Friday, February 16th in the NextEra Energy Resources 250 at the historic Daytona International Speedway.
Joining Anderson on stage at the Hall of Fame announcement were longtime partners John Bommarito of the Bommarito Automotive Group, Mike Frost from LTi Printing, Don Perry from Jacob Companies, and Randy Knighton of Knight Fire; all who will return for the 2018 season.
"The opportunity to do what we’re doing this year is only through the selfless efforts of so many amazing people behind the scenes and a culmination of hard work, sacrifice, and answered prayers over the years," said team principal and driver Jordan Anderson."To take the next step in my racing career this way is very humbling, and extremely meaningful. Our entire team is made up of guys that love racing, and we’re all eager to see what adventures the years ahead hold for us."
Thanks to a boost of support from Niece Motorsports, Anderson and team will operate out of Statesville, NC and have acquired four trucks to start the season off with. They will compete with the new Ilmor powered motors as a sustainable option to grow over time.
A partner since 2016, John Bommarito was enthusiastic about the announcement and the potential that he saw in the team. "Seeing Jordan grow from when we first partnered up in 2016 at the Gateway Motorsports Park, to where he is now as we toured his shop yesterday and talked with the crew - it’s been a fantastic journey. It’s an honor to have him as part of the Bommarito family. He’s a driver that represents our brand with integrity, and we appreciate that"
Anderson’s Fueled By Fan’s SponsorJordan.com website, which was launched from the idea of users on Reddit and Twitter, will return for the 2018 season.
"The support we’ve received from the fans of our sport the past 2 years has been very special" said Anderson. "Our entire season last year was a success because of the fans and the relationships made. The reason why all this is happening for 2018 is the same reason. There’s nothing more moving than having the people that make our sport what it is, support you in your journey."
