Junior Johnson Hospitalized

NASCAR legend Junior Johnson is being treated at Duke Hospital and is reported in stable condition.

Specific information about his health is not being released. Johnson, 80, is a retired moonshiner in the Wilkes County who became one of the early superstars of NASCAR in the 1950s and 1960s. He won 50 NASCAR races before retiring in 1966.

NASCAR Race Mom had the honor of interviewing Mr. Johnson a couple years back. He is truly a gentleman.

Please keep Junior Johnson in your thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery.
