While rain put a damper on the NAPA/Toyota 150 exploits after just three laps, the weather was not able to halt the exciting race action. (There was a two hour rain delay)
It was a good night for Team McAnally. After the McAnally teammates waged a fierce battle in the closing laps around the 3/8-mile oval, Chris Eggleston pulled past Todd Gilliland for the win at the Colorado National Speedway.
I should have said that it has been a good year for McAnally. Of the five 2016 races completed, Eggleston won at Orange Show Speedway and Colorado National Speedway while Gilliland recorded wins at Irwindale Speedway and Kern County Raceway Park. Gilliland also claimed three of the five pole positions. Both drivers can boast of five top-five finishes! Talk about a close and exhilarating season.

“That last restart there at the end with ten to go, it got real exciting there for sure,” said Eggleston. “Todd dang near wrecked us, but we were able to get back by him with a couple laps to go.
“It was definitely a tough battle,” Gilliland responded, “It’s always stressful racing with your teammate like that, but when it comes down to the win you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do. Chris did an amazing job.
