Eleven-Year-Old Passes Away After Fight with Leukemia

Caleb Hammond was diagnosed with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia at age of nine. Hammond and his family recently decided to stop treatment at Blank Children's Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, because it was no longer helping. He returned home to Oskaloosa, Iowa to live the rest of his life away from painful procedures, and to spend time with his family.

Caleb was an avid motorsport fan and amateur racer. He asked for people to send racing stickers to cover his casket if he is unable to overcome his illness.

Of course, the NASCAR Community responded overwhelmingly. Caleb received more than just race stickers for his casket, his name is displayed on over twelve NASCAR race cars at Indy.

NASCAR Cup & Xfinity and ARCA Postponed

Wet weather has been a major factor this weekend. Neither the Monster Energy Series nor the NASCAR Xfinity Series took to the track at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The Xfinity Series 'Lilly Diabetes 250' was moved from Saturday afternoon to Monday morning at 10 a.m. ET due to rain. Then the continuing inclement weather forced the start of today's Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series 'Big Machine Vodka 400 at the Brickyard' to be delayed to tomorrow as well.

Race Day Schedule

• 10 a.m.: NASCAR Xfinity Series 'Lilly Diabetes 250' (100 laps, 250 miles), NBCSN/NBC Sports App (Canada: TSN5) 
• 2 p.m.: Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series 'Big Machine Vodka 400 at the Brickyard' (160 laps, 400 miles), NBCSN/NBC Sports App (Canada: TSN1, 3) 

The ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards '200 Shore Lunch 200 presented by Trail Load' has been postponed due to bad weather. The front, associated with Tropical Storm Gordon, moved in on Friday and persistent rains throughout the day convinced the series and track officials to postpone the race to Saturday, October 6.

Since no on track activity has taken place at Lucas Oil Raceway, the event will still include a full round of practice, General Tire Pole Qualifying, and the 'Shore Lunch 200' feature event. A complete schedule will be released in the near future.

ARCA Shore Lunch 200 "Live" from Lucas Oil Speedway

It’s an action-packed week in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards as the teams make the short drive from DuQuoin, Illinois, to the Lucas Oil Raceway in Brownsburg, Indiana where they will run the Shore Lunch 200 at 9 p.m. ET Friday, September 7, with a same day re-air at 12:00am midnight ET.

MAVTV the Motorsports Network will have live coverage of the 200-lap race on Lucas Oil Raceway’s unique .686-mile paved oval. The event kicks off the three-race run to the end of the season and follows a contentious race on the 1-mile clay oval at DuQuoin State Fairgrounds Monday night.

Logan Seavey took the lead in that race on lap 66 and held on for the victory despite four late-race restarts. It was the first ARCA won for Seavey, the points leader in the USAC National Midget Series, and the 50th for team owner Bill Venturini.

ARCA points leader Sheldon Creed set a track record and led 44 of the first 46 laps, then faded after losing the lead on the first round of pit stops and finished 10th. That trimmed his lead to 191 points over teammate Zane Smith, who was fifth, and adds a little drama to Friday’s competition.

It will be the 13th race the ARCA series has run at Brownsburg since 1971. There have been a dozen different race winners, among them Davey Allison, Frank Kimmel and Bob Schacht, who reached victory lane twice.

Following the Shore Lunch 200, the series will move about 115 miles down I-65 to Salem, Indiana, for the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA Fall Classic on MAVTV September 15.
