Biffle Welcomes NASCAR Fans To Firekeepers Casino (#NASCAR)

Greg Biffle, driver of the No. 16 Ford Fusion for Roush Fenway Racing, sped into one of his favorite places away from the track this week – a casino. He was in Battle Creek, Michigan, to promote the upcoming FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway.

Whenever time allows on race weekends, Biffle tries to make a trip to a local casino to try his hand at craps. And he just may have found a spot at FireKeepers Casino when he comes to Michigan.

Biffle has a pretty good track record at MIS. He has one of the best driver ratings at the two-mile racetrack. So he’s always a solid bet at Michigan.

  • “MIS is definitely my favorite racetrack,” he said. “I love everything about it – the track, I run well there and we are always excited to return. It’s an important track to me, to Roush Fenway and to Ford. So winning at Michigan is always on our minds.”

After a tour of FireKeepers Casino and meeting with the media, Biffle was ready for an interactive afternoon with the employees of FireKeepers Casino and Hotel, an inaugural sponsor of the track’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race. The casino had sponsored pole day. But wanted more involvement.

And they have gotten involved in a big way.

Biffle helped FireKeepers Casino and Hotel leadership to kick off the casino’s “Ten Days to the Race” celebration among it’s more than 3,000 employees. He got the day started with FireKeepers Casino Hotel President/CEO Brian Decorah, outfitted in a Tony Stewart firesuit.

Biffle posed for pictures and signed autographs for all the employees. Then it was back inside to welcome all the NASCAR fans at the casino. FireKeepers Casino recently unveiled a NASCAR slot machine. Biffle posed for more photos with fans before testing his luck with track President Roger Curtis.

Michigan International Speedway holds a special place for Biffle. He owns four wins in the NASCAR Sprint Cup series at the track and two more in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at the track.

But one moment sticks out above all others.

“My favorite moment came on Father’s Day in 2013,” Biffle said. “It was a win and it was Ford’s 1,000th win in NASCAR. It was my daughter’s first victory lane. It was a special day all around.”

Biffle looks to create another special moment on June 12 during the FireKeepers Casino 400, where NASCAR’s new aero package will be run. Biffle says it will be a “great race.”

“This setup we’re bringing will have more passing and some really great racing,” Biffle said. “I feel like our team has some momentum, and I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to returning to Michigan.”
