Fourteen teams testing Monday and Tuesday at Kentucky Speedway

NASCAR is allowing a car from each organization to test at Kentucky because next month’s race will be the first on the repaved surface. Teams also will use the same lower downforce package at Kentucky as they did this past weekend at Michigan International Speedway.

What Jeff Hammond (commentator for NASCAR's coverage on Fox Sports) found interesting is all agreed that less downforce on the Sprint Cup cars is a step in the right direction.  The drivers love it and he believes that all the crew chiefs are in favor of it. But one of the biggest concerns for him to hear is that what they  tried at Michigan this last weekend and what we're going to race in a couple of weeks in Kentucky is not something that we're going to race for the rest of the year.

Teams scheduled to test at Kentucky:

  1. Jamie McMurray (Chip Ganassi Racing)
  2. Kevin Harvick (Stewart-Haas Racing)
  3. Kasey Kahne (Hendrick Motorsports)
  4. Greg Biffle (Roush Fenway Racing)
  5. Kyle Busch (Joe Gibbs Racing)
  6. Ryan Blaney (Wood Brothers Racing)
  7. Joey Logano (Team Penske)
  8. Paul Menard (Richard Childress Racing)
  9. Chris Buescher (Front Row Motorsports)
  10. Aric Almirola (Richard Petty Motorsports)
  11. Michael Annett (HScott Motorsports)
