Dalton Sargeant and GALT made the most of their debut in the #NASCAR K&N Pro Series West at Kern County Raceway Park in the NAPA Auto Parts 150 on Saturday, March 28. Sargeant, driving for the newly formed Jefferson Pitts Racing in the No. 55 GALT Ford Fusion, with Kris Bowen as crew chief won both the pole and #KNWEST Season Opener!
Even more impressive, the 17-year-old from Boca Raton, Florida, picked up right where he left off in February at Florida's New Smyrna Speedway where he finished second in the K&N Pro Series East opener.
The NAPA Auto Parts 150 trophy did not come easily however. Sargeant battled series veteran, David Mayhew as a pair of late cautions pushed the NAPA Auto Parts 150 to 160 laps. Mayhew led eighty-five laps before Sargeant took control on Lap 102. Despite challenging Sargeant on every lap, Mayhew was unable to get past the rookie Sargeant and had to settle for second.
