#NASCAR Elite Visit Kansas City School!

As part of their national classroom donation program, more than 200 seventh graders at Kansas City's Argentine Middle School were treated to a lesson on NASCAR on Thursday, May 7 during a special visit from The NASCAR Foundation and NASCAR Acceleration Nation. Argentine Middle School and several other schools in the Kansas City area were the recipients of innovative technology resources donated by The NASCAR Foundation, including 3D printers, tablets and scientific calculators.

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series drivers Ben Kennedy, Scott Lagasse Jr. and John Hunter Nemechek joined Kansas Speedway President Pat Warren to talk to students about the 3D’s of Speed – drafting, downforce and drag, concepts covered in NASCAR Acceleration Nation curriculum the students received.

At Argentine Middle, the panel took questions from students related to the Scholastic curriculum and explained how principles of aerodynamics make their race cars go faster. Dion “Rocko” Williams, front tire carrier for Jeff Gordon's No. 24 Chevrolet SS team, served as the event's emcee.

As a reward for their participation by asking outstanding questions, the panel tossed hats from The NASCAR Foundation and t-shirts from NASCAR Acceleration Nation into the crowd of students – bundled with tickets for Friday night’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event, courtesy of Kansas Speedway!

It is The NASCAR Foundation's sincere hope that they can count on you to remain as one of thier financial supporters and help them continue these efforts. Please consider making a generous gift to support their work for fall 2015?
