A POWERFUL NEW LOOK: Careful thought went into the design creation of the 2017 No. 20 Tide PODS Toyota Camry, which is sure to turn heads on the track. This year’s design pulls through cues from Tide’s unforgettable orange and yellow colors with the iconic “Tide target” on the hood honoring the brand’s 20-year racing history. Moving from front to back, the car is a visual representation of how Tide has evolved through the years introducing the revolutionary and powerful Tide PODS.
RACE INFO: The Camping World 500 at Phoenix International Raceway (1.0-mile) begins at 3:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, March 19th. The race will be broadcast live on FOX, Sirius XM Channel 90 and MRN Radio.
From the Cockpit:
Matt Kenseth: “Phoenix has been a tough track for me in the past, but we ran really well there last November. Unfortunately, we got that caution with a lap and a quarter to go, and ended up losing the race, so I’m looking forward to going back to Phoenix and being able to redeem ourselves and get a win or a good run this weekend. It’s always hard to predict what’s going to happen during a race, and I think that unless strategy comes into play during a stage, it really doesn’t affect how a driver races in this new format. You want to lead every lap that you can no matter what, and that’s always how I approach each race. This will be the first weekend with Tide on our Camry for the season, and it’s so great that their powerful brand is back in the sport.”
From the Pit Box:
Jason Ratcliff: “Even though Phoenix is a short track, it’s pretty aero-sensitive, so I think that the new rules package will show up at Phoenix this weekend big time. It’s also forecasted to be a bit warmer than what we typically see this time of the year when we visit. We’ve had some good runs at Phoenix in the past, and we had a really great run going there last Fall, so I feel pretty good about the weekend ahead. It’s also the same tire for this weekend that we ran last year, so at least that’s one variable that won’t change on us heading into this weekend. I’m looking forward this this weekend though, and it’s great to have Tide back aboard our No. 20 Camry.”
