Ben Rhodes and Matt Crafton in the Texas Motor Speedway Garage |
Defending series champion Johnny Sauter (No. 21 Allegiant Travel Chevrolet) will be a prime contender for the pole, with his fast laps ranking among the top three in every practice session. He posted his fastest of the day in the final session at 185.420 mph.
Christopher Bell also become a clear-cut favorite for the pole position after recording the fastest lap in each of the three NASCAR Camping World Truck Series practices Thursday for the winstaronlinegaming.com 400 at Texas Motor Speedway.
Rounding out the top five in the final session were Ben Rhodes (No. 27 Safelite Auto Glass Toyota) at 184.982 mph, Matt Crafton (No. 88 Hormel Gatherings/Menards Toyota) at 184.641 mph, and Ryan Truex (No. 16 H.E.B. Grocery Store Toyota) at 184.634 mph.
“The repaving process has been interesting to watch, especially in the Monster Energy and XFINITY Series races that took place earlier this year. I’m definitely looking forward to being back, and experiencing it for myself, but there are a host of new challenges that come along with that. Ben Rhodes related.
My crew chief and I have gone back to the drawing board to figure out what’s going to be best for the race track. It seems similar to Kentucky Speedway now – with the mismatched banking, and the new asphalt – so we’re hoping to take a few notes from that, and apply it this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway.”
