BRANDON VEATCH, BLOOMFIELD, IND
Brandon Veatch, 36, of Bloomfield, Ind., served eight years in the
United States Army Special Forces. Deployed twice, once to Baghdad and
once to northern Iraq, Veatch was injured fighting off three separate
ambushes while intercepting a kidnapping in the streets of Baghdad in
2004. For his heroism, Veatch was awarded a Purple Heart by U.S.
Senator Dan Coats in February 2012.
Veatch was humbled by this
nomination and hopes to continue to be a role model for men rising
through the ranks today. He is currently an Acquisitions Management
Specialist for the Navy at Crane Naval Surface Warfare Center and
recently celebrated his fourth anniversary with his wife, Melissa.
In
his free time, he enjoys carpentry and watching his children play
baseball and basketball. If he wins the grand prize, Veatch says,
"There are a million and one things I am looking forward to, I can‘t
just pick one. I would just feel privileged to represent so many
heroes."
Remember Voting begins on May 21st on the Crown Royal Facebook site.
