Now The Real NASCAR Penalties Loom Dark

Two of Michael Waltrip Racing's sponsors are reviewing their relationships with the race team following the organization's attempt to manipulate the finish at Richmond.

NAPA Auto Parts posted on its Facebook page Wednesday it is disappointed a partner would make ''such a significant error in judgment.'' NAPA is the sponsor for Martin Truex Jr., who was kicked out of the Chase for the Sprint Car championship when NASCAR sanctioned MWR for its actions in Saturday night's race. NAPA added it has launched a review of its future partnership with MWR.

Additionally, Clint Bowyer's sponsor, 5-Hour Energy tweeted it is reviewing its sponsorship relations internally.

It is going to be an interesting 2014 NASCAR Season.

Michael Waltrip spoke exclusively to FOX Sports 1's NASCAR Race Hub on Tuesday. In part one of his sitdown with Bob Dillner, Waltrip addressed the heavy punishment handed out to Michael Waltrip Racing following the controvery at Richmond International Raceway.

What Bowyer and MWR officials allegedly did was akin to stealing or points shaving.  It was not only unprofessional but crossed the line of fair play and common decency. While NASCAR's penalties were significant, losing a sponsor can put the ending Period to a team.

NASCAR Race Mom thinks that Michael Waltrip made the fatal mistake of forgetting about the all important NASCAR Fans and essential NASCAR Sponsors!
