Patrick Staropoli's father and grandfather were professional stock car drivers who owned their own auto repair shops, so it seemed logical that he would enter the family business. Star Racing was established in 1986 by Nick Staropoli and built into a successful race team in South Florida. The family tradition has continued as Patrick Staropoli now pilots the #97 Super Late Model in Florida.
