Eiki Koga To Make NASCAR Jr. Late Model Debut

Youngest Japanese Driver With Wilson Motorsports At Madera Speedway

 

Ten-year-old Japanese driver Eiki Koga will make his race debut in the 51FIFTY Jr. Late Model  on March 14 at Madera Speedway, supported by Wilson Motorsports, as he begins his journey toward achieving his dream of becoming a NASCAR Cup Series driver.

 

In addition, Eiki has signed as a development driver with Fast Track Racing.

 

Andy Hillenburg, a two-time Daytona winner, will oversee Eiki’s management and guide him on his path to becoming a NASCAR driver.

In 2023, Brexton won approximately 35 races and was named the Beginner Box Stock Division Champion at Millbridge Speedway and Mountain Creek Speedway, in the family’s home state of North Carolina. Recently, Brexton has been racing Jr. Sprint, Outlaw Karts, and Bandoleros, with plans to begin driving Restricted Micro Sprint cars in 2024.

Next Gen of Racing Takes Over the Quarter-Mile

Brexton Busch and Keelan Harvick are following in their fathers’ footsteps as they take on the quarter-mile at America's Home for Racing.

 

For 30 years, the Cook Out Summer Shootout has transformed many grassroots racers into renowned household names. Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick are two of the most recognizable names in all of motorsports, and this summer their second generation has found its way to the famed quarter-mile oval at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

 

While it seems natural that Brexton Busch and Keelan Harvick would develop a need for speed, their NASCAR champion fathers both credit a time when at-track activity came to a standstill as the stimulus for their sons’ desire to race. Kyle Busch took Brexton to a go-kart track for something to do during the COVID-19 pandemic, while Keelan began watching Kevin race on the simulator before eventually getting behind the wheel himself. From go-karts to Bandoleros to Legend Cars, these young drivers haven’t let up off the gas.

 

Eight-year-old Brexton Busch made his Charlotte Motor Speedway debut this summer in the Beginner Bandoleros division in his No. 18 lime green Serv-Pro machine. Brexton wants to follow in his dad’s tire tracks, as Kyle Busch is the winningest NASCAR driver at Charlotte Motor Speedway with 19 wins across three national series. Brexton is already showing a competitive spirit like his father. In just two feature races, he has already tallied a second-place finish.

 

 

“Whenever I wanted to do racing it was because of my dad because he was really good at it,” Brexton said. “The best part about racing for me is the competition because I like to have some good competition.”

For 10-year-old Keelan Harvick, racing at America’s Home for Racing is the next “exciting” step in his journey as he also looks to follow his father, Kevin Harvick, a two-time Coca-Cola 600 winner at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Keelan, who is looking for more experience to grow as a driver, is launching his Shootout career driving the No. 62 Hunt Brothers Pizza Legend Car in the Young Lions Division. So far, Keelan has tallied a sixth-place and a fifth-place finish in two feature race appearances.

 

 

“I was really excited and pumped up to come here and it went really good,” Keelan said. “My favorite part is that it’s always a new challenge, you don't know what is going to happen this night or last night so that’s kind of what I’m shooting for.”

Both Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick, say they love the feeling of just being a ‘dad’ during their sons’ racing journeys.

 

“I think for me, my favorite part is just the growth. And as he (Brexton) gets better and as he learns, he gets more confident,” Kyle said. “I think it’s more fun when you’re able to go to Victory Lane with your son.”

 

“COVID-19 really changed directions for our family and it kind of helped me decide when to retire after he started racing,” Kevin said. “I can just be a fan and watch and learn and try to help him learn…and chew him out sometimes and all those things that come with being a dad.”

 

While getting the experience that both dads say is so important, Brexton and Keelan have continued to gain more exposure across different forms of motorsports. Brexton has taken his driving skills to the dirt, as he’s picked up championships in Box Stock Racing. Keelan is earning both racing stripes and passport stamps as he’s taken his driving abilities across the country and around the world.

 

“Italy so far has been my favorite, because all of the tracks in Italy are really fun and I kind of enjoy that a lot,” Keelan said.

 

While the two NASCAR dads are now coaching their sons, the goal is for them to succeed and have fun doing it.

 

“Good luck, do your best, give it everything you got and we’ll see what happens in the end,” Kyle tells Brexton before he leaves the pits.

 

“The gas is on the right, the brake is on the left,” Kevin says with a grin before Keelan races out.

Next generation of the Busch family to Debut at LVMS Bullring

 

The first family of Las Vegas motorsports will add to the family legacy on Saturday, March 4 when Brexton Busch makes his West Coast Bandolero debut in the Bash at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

 

Busch, the 7-year old son of two-time NASCAR champion Kyle Busch, has already made an impression in the racing world racking up wins at tracks around the country. He is coming off an impressive 2022 season which saw him win 32 races at 13 different tracks across 11 states in two separate styles of racecars. He also was able to collect his second track championship in as many years, claiming the title in the Beginner Box Stock division at Mountain Creek (N.C.) Speedway.

 

As part of his progression into various styles of racecars at tracks all over the country, on March 4 he will make his first Bandolero start on the track his father racked up more than 100 wins across several divisions.

“It’s going to be a lot of fun to race at the same track that my Dad, Grandpa Tom and Uncle Kurt have a lot of wins at,” Busch said. ‘”I haven’t raced my Bandolero much, but hopefully I can get the win!”

 

The Bullring opened in 1985 with Brexton’s grandfather, Tom Busch, winning the first ever race. Brexton’s uncle, former NASCAR champion Kurt Busch, picked up more than 30 wins during the 1990s at the Bullring.

 

The March 5 event will also include a Legends car feature and racing will start approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the Alsco Uniforms 300 NASCAR Xfinity Series race at the LVMS superspeedway. Admission to the grandstands is free and a limited number of shuttles will be available from the superspeedway to the Bullring.

NASCAR Couple Turned IVF Journey into Help For Others

Bundle of Joy Fund – Fifty Babies and Counting

 

Infertility affects about 12% of women aged 15 to 44 in the United States, and couples can spend tens of thousands of dollars seeking help from medical experts during their journey. NASCAR’s Kyle and Samantha Busch know this story all too well.

 

The couple experienced issues with infertility while trying to get pregnant with their first child in 2014. They made the decision to seek help through in vitro fertilization shortly after.

 

“We tried to have children naturally for quite a while, and it wasn’t working. So ultimately we had to go through the route of IVF,” Samantha Busch told CharlotteFive recently. “In going through that, we realized it’s not only a physical and emotional struggle, but the financial hurdles are also crazy — and things add up so fast, and insurance doesn’t cover any of it.”

The Busch family welcomed their first son, Brexton, in 2015. The joy the couple felt in being able to have their own bundle of joy inspired them to launch the Bundle of Joy Fund — an organization created in September 2015 to provide grants to Charlotte-area families seeking IVF due to infertility. They recently hosted their annual fundraiser — with a theme of Vegas Baby — where they announced that Bundle of Joy has helped over 80 families with IVF costs. More than $1 million has been raised.

 

 

The couple also shared news during the Vegas Baby fundraiser that during their last round of treatments, they decided to move forward again with a gestational carrier who is now 19 weeks pregnant with a baby girl. “Brexton is so excited to become a big brother,” Samantha Busch said.

The parents to adorable three-year-old Brexton Locke Busch (May 18, 2015) can not have children the easy way. Since they struggle with infertility, they understand the associated frustration and expense. Therefore, they set-up the “Kyle & Samantha Busch Bundle of Joy Fund”

This organization award monetary assistance for in-need families also struggling with infertility. The fund assists with the costs associated with infertility treatment through the REACH Clinic of Charlotte. Congratulation to Kyle and Samantha. NASCAR Race Mom hopes that all goes well with their IVF and so that Brexton can soon take on the role of big brother.

The Kyle Busch Foundation recently hosted a “playdate” for all of their Bundle of Joy families at My Gym in Huntersville, N.C. It was the first time nearly all of our miracle babies were together at the same time. While the kids played and made new friends, so did their parents. With so much in common, it was a chance for the parents to meet each other and share stories of their own journeys with infertility and finally becoming parents.

Since the Bundle of Joy fund began in Sept. 2015, KBF had awarded nearly $400,000 to 31 couples in the Charlotte area. To date we have 14 children ranging from two-years-old to newborn with two more babies on the way later this year.

Bundle of Joy Fund Awards $75,000 in IVF Grants

Kyle and Samantha Helping Other Couples to Start a Family of Their Own.

The Kyle Busch Foundation’s  “Bundle of Joy” program awarded five Charlotte, N.C.-area couples a total of $75,000 toward their In Vitro Fertilization costs on Monday, Jan. 29. Each of the five couples received $15,000 in their accounts at REACH to begin infertility treatments and hopefully start a family of their own.

Since its inception in September 2015, the Bundle of Joy program has donated just over $325,000 among 27 couples. To date, KBF has provided funding to help cover treatments resulting in 12 miracle babies with two more on the way later this year.

Kyle Busch and Samantha, tried to have children for more than a year before they learned they both had infertility issues. They eventually sought IVF treatment at Reproductive Endocrinology Associates of Charlotte (REACH). Brexton Locke Busch born 05/18/2015 and weighted a healthy 7 pounds 10 ounces. 

On being transparent, blunt and funny about delicate topics: "When you come out the other side of it with a baby, you can easily talk about it [with humor]. 'Oh, my ovaries are broken. Kyle's sperm sucks.' It's easy at that point. When you're going through it, that's when it's hard. That's when it's delicate. If somebody said, 'What's wrong with your ovaries?' I probably would have jumped across the table at them. You're in such a terrible spot where you're already like, 'Why can't I have a baby. How come everybody else can get pregnant so easy?' This week the Kyle Busch Foundation awarded five couples a total of $63,000 for their IVF treatments through our Bundle of Joy program.

We have to thank all of the fans who purchased our “Everything is Great” t-shirts and helped us raise $40,000 for Bundle of Joy. We also thank Comcast for their generous donation of $30,000 through their Comcast Community Champion award.

To date we have helped 22 couples with $250,500! Our 11th Bundle of Joy baby was just born, so Everything is Great!

After going eleven races, over a span of thirteen years, without an XFINITY Series win at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Kyle Busch is a repeat champion and he did so from pole

Busch and Brad Keselowski duked it out from the beginning of the Rinnai 250 on Saturday with challenges from Kevin Harvick and Kyle Larson.

Larson led for twenty laps late in the race, but dropped to fourth on a restart and Busch jumped back into the lead for good on lap one hundred and forty-five (145) of one hundred and sixty-three (163).

"We weren't great early on and we weren't great through the middle," Busch said. "But they really brought the NOS Energy Drink Toyota to life at the end. We're pretty proud to put ourselves here in victory lane once again. It took me so long to get here to begin with and now we've won two in a row. That feels really good."

It should be noted that Busch’s race-winning No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota Busch’s car incurred a height violation, as NASCAR officials found it to be too low on the left and right front. Therefore, he failed post-race inspection following Saturday’s NASCAR XFINITY Series Rinnai 250 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. NASCAR should hand down penalties for the violation later this week.

“I don’t remember what kind of adjustments we were making; I know we were going track bar down and wedge out so that should actually kind of lifted the front a little bit maybe, but I don’t know how low it was or anything like that,” Busch said.

Last year, Christopher Bell was leading the Camping World Truck Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway by a sizable margin and just eight laps separating him from his second career NASCAR victory when he blew a tire and tore up his Tundra.

Yesterday, Bell led ninety of one hundred and thirty laps and held on through a tense finish to win the Active Pest Control 200.

The field was under caution for the eighth time with just a few laps remaining. Bell, who also started the race from pole, was up front for the green/white restart, took the inside line and finally got clear of wily Matt Crafton.

"I was just trying to do everything I could to make sure I got a good restart and didn't get my momentum broken," Bell said. "These races are really tough to get restarts going because it's so aero dependent. You can get all sorts of momentum or you can get all sorts of momentum taken away from you.That happened to me in the middle of the race. But (crew chief) Rudy (Fugle) and the guys did an awesome job preparing this thing. It was really fast all weekend. It was just a dream machine."

Kyle Busch Foundation Selects Third Round of “Bundle of Joy” Recipients #nascar

NASCAR Race Mom is aware that many race fans love to boo Kyle Busch.  However, oft times, the positive actions of this reigning Sprint Cup Champion is completely ignored.  Below is a story NRM found regarding the Busch Family spirit of sharing that went unnoticed last month.

The Kyle Busch Foundation (KBF) has selected the third round of recipients of the “Kyle and Samantha Busch Bundle of Joy Fund” and awarded a total of over $34,000 to three Charlotte, N.C.-area couples toward their infertility treatments at Reproductive Endocrinology Associates of Charlotte (REACH). 

On June 4 KBF learned of its first success story when one of the couples previously awarded with funding welcomed twins (a boy and girl), while five other couples are currently expecting.

The Buschs started the fund through the Kyle Busch Foundation in 2015 following the birth of their son, Brexton. After struggling with infertility issues themselves and completing successful treatments at REACH, they started the fund for other couples in similar situations who may not have the financial means to undergo treatments. 

Quite frequently medical insurance does not cover a majority of the costs associated with infertility treatments.

“Through the generous donations from our fans and sponsors to the Kyle Busch Foundation, we look forward to providing funding to couples through REACH on a semi-annual basis. It is a cause near and dear to our hearts, and we pray that these couples are able to have their own miracle babies like we did with Brexton.”
