Looking Forward To Iowa Speedway

Moses Smith With Race FansBill McAnally Racing driver Moses Smith and the No. 16 HASA Pool Products/NAPA Gold Filters Toyota team are off to Iowa Speedway as the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West meet up with their counterpart from the East. Both will be battling for their own series championship points and for a starting spot in the NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown.

The Hasa/NAPA Gold Filters Toyota team is excited about the combined NASCAR K&N Pro Series East/West Series event. The No. 16 team is focused on 175-laps of great racing at the 7/8-mile track in Newton, Iowa and closing the gap on the point leader.

This will be Smith's fifth visit to Iowa Speedway. A great effort by driver and team showed as Smith has two top-ten finishes of the West Series drivers. Smith is currently second in the chase for the 2011 championship.

"We have had a fast Hasa Toyota Camry everywhere this year," said Smith, "but we have also had some back luck during previous visits to Iowa. We're hoping to continue the momentum we've been building this season as we head to this very competitive race event. We don't see some these drivers throughout the race season so we don't necessarily know what to expect. But we're ready for whatever comes our way."

"Greg Purlsey (current point leader) is going to continue to be tough. We're keeping him in our sights and the HASA/NAPA team will be focused on our goal of winning races and bring home a championship for our race partners," said the newly transplanted Texan. Smith recently uprooted his open-wheeled business from Arizona to Cresson, Texas. Smith is the new owner of Texas Autosports which builds cars for Formula Mazda Series.

The Goodyear Dealers of Iowa '175' presented by Tompkins Industries can be seen on Thursday June 2nd on SPEED Channel at 3 pm PST. Please check your local listings.
