It Doesn’t Get Any More Competitive,
Any Harder Fought Than At Kentucky.

The Quaker State 400, presented by Advance Auto Parts, returns to Kentucky Speedway for the sixth time Saturday, July 9, 2016. The race weekend opened with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series on Thursday, July 7. William Byron earned his fourth Camping World Truck Series win of 2016.

The NASCAR XFINITY Series will compete today. The ALSCO 300 (200 LAPS) gets under way at 8:30 EST

The Kentucky Speedway track, which broke ground in Sparta, Kentucky in 1998, opened as a 1.5-mile speedway in 2000. The first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race was held there in 2011, and that race was won by Kyle Busch. Busch also leads all active drivers in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series in laps led at Kentucky with 437 laps led in five starts.

During this past off season, the track underwent a repave. Further, the banking in Turns 1 and 2 were increased to 17 degrees.

Matt Davis, Advance Auto Parts Marketing and Sponsorship Manager expressed excitement that, “For the third straight year, Advance’s President, George Sherman will be the Grand Marshal of the race. We are excited to announce that driver Regan Smith is driving the Advance Auto Parts branded car in the QS400.”

Regan Smith's best start at Kentucky Speedway is twelfth and his best finish here is seventeenth. He enters the race ranked 32nd in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series points standings with 203 points for the 2016 season.

Of course as the K&N Pro Series is near and dear to NASCAR Race Mom’s heart, I had to inquire of Mr. Davis about Advanced Auto Part’s in the lower level of NASCAR feeder series.

Advance Auto Parts supports grassroots racing throughout the country with sponsorships of tracks and local involvement through many of our vendor relationships. Matt responded.
