Take Ryan Reed's Challenge and Adopt Healthy Habits (#NASCAR)

While NASCAR Race Mom does not have diabetes, she took Ryan’s Challenge to live a healthier lifestyle. NRM did not realize that just under 10% of American's suffer from Diabetes. I love how NASCAR drivers, such as Roush Fenway Racing’s Ryan Reed strive to be positive role models.

In 2011, NASCAR Xfinity racer Ryan Reed was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and told that he would never race again. However, by working with his doctor and adopting healthy habits, he was still able to follow his dreams. He is currently tenth in the Xfinity Series Point Standings.

“I know better than most that managing diabetes and leading a healthy lifestyle are not always easy—that’s where Ryan’s Challenge comes in. Taking Ryan’s Challenge means taking care of yourself, talking with your doctor about blood glucose management, reaching out for support and encouraging your family and friends to lead active, healthy lives.”

The Drive to Stop DiabetesSM campaign has so many tools and resources, including healthy recipes, tips for working with your doctor and a FREE 12-month Living With Type 2 Diabetes program, that will help you throughout your diabetes journey!
