Dominique Van Wieringen is a highly competitive late model driver from the Charlotte, NC area. Entering her 14th year of competition, Van Wieringen has set many accolades. She was the first female to lead a lap in the CRA / JEGS All-Star Series and the first rookie to win a JEGS / CRA All-Star Series points race.
In addition, Van Wieringen was the first female to win an Outlaw Super Late Model championship in the United States, while holding the current record at Winchester (Ind.) Speedway for the most laps led (74) by a female competitor.
Van Wieringen, 20, advanced to the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East for the 2016 season after running a Late Model schedule last season for NEMCO Motorsports.
From her K&N Pro Series East stats, it appears that she is a better qualifier than finisher.

However, this last race, Dominique Van Wieringen, led eighty-eight laps after gaining the lead three laps into the 150-lap feature. Unfortunately, she finished a disappointing sixteenth after a spin in Turn 2 on Lap 91. Nevertheless, with the laps she led, Dominique set the record for most laps led by a female in the K&N Pro Series East.
“We qualified 3rd at Stafford for a great starting position. Got off to a great start and ended up leading laps 5-91 before getting dumped,” Dominique reported on her Facebook page. “Ended up bringing her to the finish and finished 16. Definitely happy with our performance. Just disappointed. But we can't control what other people do. We get closer and closer to a win. It's definitely coming.”
Ms. Wieringens’ performance in the Stafford 150 has placed her on NASCAR Race Mom’s radar. She will be one to watch at the next K&N Pro Series race on July 2 at Ohio’s Columbus Motor Speedway.
