Will #NASCAR'S Jeff Gordon be Joining Kelly Ripa on "Live with Kelly?"

According to TVLine, Gordon is on ABC’s short list to succeed Michael Strahan

Since Michael Strahan’s departure from the show, an earnest search has begun to find his replacement. It has been reported that #NASCAR's Jeff Gordon could soon be sitting beside Kelly Ripa soon.

Jeff Gordon has zoomed to the top of ABC's short list to succeed Michael Strahan as Kelly Ripa's new Live co-host, TVLine has reported. Gordon has experience sitting alongside Ripa. During the 'Live With Regis and Kelly' era, he served as Ripa's sidekick nine times. (He even did a stint opposite Reege in 2001 before Ripa came on board). Jeff most recently appeared on the show in June 2015, but just as a guest.

Since Gordon’s retirement in 2015, the former racer has made a transition into broadcasting and currently serves as a NASCAR analyst for Fox.  Until a full-time host is selected for Live, Ripa has been paired with a revolving door of guest hosts on the show. A decision is expected to be made later this summer with candidates along with Gordon include Rob Lowe and Anderson Cooper.

Live with Kelly & Jeff?

Do you think Gordon is ready for this big jump?
