Hard Work Pays Off (#NASCAR)

Scholarships Awarded to High School Seniors

Ten high school seniors from Volusia County have been awarded scholarships from The NASCAR Foundation.

The scholarships are $2,500 each and are funded by proceeds from “The Taste of the 24” fundraising social event held in January at Daytona International Speedway during the Rolex 24 At Daytona race weekend. Scholarships are awarded to outstanding students based on academic performance, community service and financial need who are planning to attend a two-year or four-year college, university or vocational school in Florida.

Mainland High School recipient Keymira Frost expressed her appreciation by saying, "as a first generation college student, The NASCAR Foundation Scholarship will help my parents pay for college without it being a burden. I always felt my hard work would pay off and this is confirmation of that hard work.”

The NASCAR Foundation is dedicated to
helping children live happier, healthier lives.
